  • ERIC CHURCH TOPS THE COUNTRY CHARTS WITH ‘TALLADEGA.’

Eric Church is celebrating his fourth No. 1 hit, “Talladega,” as it tops the country charts this week. The song, which is from his latest album The Outsiders, was a song he knew would strike a chord with fans after he and Luke Laird co-wrote it.

“I knew it was one that would just resonate with people. It did with me, so I knew if it resonated with me, that it would probably resonate with other people,” says Eric. “It’s been neat to watch it continue to grow and to watch people gravitate to it, their stories, and attach their life to the song. That’s what it’s all about is getting them to attach their life to it.”

Eric is nominated for four Grammy Awards, including Country Album of the Year for The Outsiders, Country Song and Country Solo Performance of the Year for “Give Me Back My Hometown” and Country Group/Duo Performance of the Year for “Raise ‘Em Up” withKeith Urban.

“The thing with ‘Talladega’ too, I remember when we finished The Outsiders, ironically, there’s only a couple of songs on that album that I really felt pretty good about – ‘Talladega’ is one of them, from a commercial standpoint, because I just knew it would strike a chord. I knew it was one that would just resonate with people. It did with me, so I knew if it resonated with me, that it would probably resonate with other people. So, for that one, it’s been neat to watch it continue to grow and to watch people gravitate to it, their stories and attach their life to the song. That’s what it’s all about is getting them to attach their life to it.”

  • ERIC CHURCH’S ‘TALLADEGA’ CONNECTS TO LIFE’S MOMENTS.

Eric Church is riding high on the country charts with his latest single, “Talladega.” The song, which uses NASCAR references, isn’t about racing, but about taking you back to a specific period of time that was more carefree.

“I think that’s the most interesting thing about the song is it’s about life, and it’s about freezing life and wishing you could freeze life, and we all wish we could do that,” says Eric. “Really what the best of music is what it does is it transports you back to that time and that place that you wish you could’ve frozen, and in a way you can, because the song does. And it takes you back to when you were that age.”

“Talladega,” which is from Eric’s platinum-selling album The Outsiders, is sitting at No. 2 on the country charts.

  • KEITH URBAN RAISES ONE UP WITH ERIC CHURCH.

Keith Urban’s new single is “Raise ‘Em Up,” featuring his pal Eric Church. The song, the latest release from Fuse, was sent to Keith with the headline – “Song of the Year.” While that could be construed as a bit overly confident, it also could be the truth seeing the tune’s writers are Jeffrey Steele (“The Cowboy in Me,” “I’m Tryin’,” “What Hurts the Most”), Tom Douglas (“The House That Built Me,” “Little Rock,” “I Run to You,” “Southern Voice”) and Jaren Johnston (“You Gonna Fly,” “Beachin’”).

“I felt this song was such a journey and a deeply American aspect to this song too, particularly in the second verse,” says Keith. “What ‘Raise Em-Up’ can mean, all the various things that that phrase can mean; it’s such a cinematic song, and I’ve always considered Eric as a cinematic artist, and I sent him the song and he was in the studio immediately. I am so glad he wanted to be a part of it because it took the song to a new place.”

The song will begin hitting the airwaves January 26th. In the meantime, you can catch Keith as a judge on FOX-TV’s American Idol on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Keith Urban (Raise ‘Em Up-Church) 2 OC: …new place. 1:04
“It’s not a duet, but it hit me that this might be a good song for us to do as a duet because it’s an extraordinary song to begin with. When I got sent it, it got sent under the heading of ‘Song of the Year,’ and I thought, well that’s a tall order for a song. Then I saw the writers Jeffery Steele, Tom Douglas, and Jaren Johnston, and I went, ‘Okay we’ve got some pretty stout writers on this song.’ The lyric is just absolutely extraordinary, and all the things ‘Raise Em-Up’ can apply to. I felt this song was such a journey and a deeply American aspect to this song too, particularly in the second verse. And what ‘Raise Em-Up’ can mean, all the various things that that phrase can mean; it’s such a cinematic song, and I’ve always considered Eric as a cinematic artist, and I sent him the song and he was in the studio immediately. I am so glad he wanted to be a part of it because it took the song to a new place.”

Church returned to the road last week with powerhouse performances in New Orleans, LA (1/8), Tupelo, MS (1/9), and Nashville, TN (1/10) where his audience of 18,411 fans set a new event attendance record for the Bridgestone Arena. Catch him this week in Oklahoma City, OK (1/14), Las Vegas (1/16 and 1/17), and San Diego (1/18).
Church’s current album, The Outsiders, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and theBillboard Country Albums Chart earlier this year, featuring his No. 1 hit “Give Me Back My Hometown” and his current single “Talladega.” The Outsiders is the follow-up to Church’s Platinum-certified album Chief, (named the 2012 Album of the Year by both CMA and ACM, and GRAMMY-nominated for Best Country Album) which featured five Top 20 singles: “Homeboy” (certified Platinum for sales in excess of one million singles); the Top 10 “Like Jesus Does” and the Top 5 “Creepin’” (both certified Gold for sales in excess of 500,000 singles each); and two No. 1 hits “Drink in My Hand” (certified Platinum) and “Springsteen” (certified Double Platinum for sales in excess of two million singles). Church’s 2006 debut album, Sinners Like Me (2006) and his sophomore album Carolina (2009) are both RIAA Gold-certified. Carolina had three hit singles: the Top 10 “Hell on the Heart” as well as Top 20 hit “Smoke A Little Smoke” and Top 10 smash “Love Your Love The Most,” which were both certified Gold. Sinners Like Me spawned three Top 20 singles: “How ‘Bout You,” “Two Pink Lines,” and “Guys Like Me.”
    Brothers Osborne
Two sons from a working class family, John and TJ Osborne grew up in a small, Maryland water town. They spent most nights not in front of the television, but writing and playing songs for friends and family in their father’s shed. John (guitar) moved to Nashville first to play in other bands and two years later, TJ (vocals/guitar) joined him. It was then they formed Brothers Osborne and in April 2011 they signed with Warner Chappell/King Pen Music for publishing followed by a deal with Capitol Records a year later. Their blue-collar rural Maryland upbringing still informs the music they make as a twang-and-crunch duo that blends equal parts country and rock into one of the freshest, most identifiable sounds to come out of Nashville in recent years. Their latest single “Rum” was named one of the top country songs of 2014 byBillboard as well as Rolling Stone and Nashville Lifestyles recently named them one of the Top 25 Artists to Watch in 2015. They are currently in the studio finishing their debut album set to release in 2015.
    Drive-By Truckers
Rolling Stone called the Drive-By Truckers “the boldest ‘n’ baddest Southern band in the land.” Throughout their twelve highly acclaimed albums, the Truckers have surveyed the modern South with a complex blend of realism-tempered pride and compassionate but uncompromising analysis. Their latest album, English Oceans, finds the group refreshed and firing on all cylinders. Both Mike Cooley and Patterson Hood penned songs independently that dovetailed brilliantly with each other on English Oceans, originating in a truly collaborative effort that the band has never utilized before. The album was recorded with a compact, retooled lineup. Jay Gonzalez, who joined the band in 2008 as keyboardist, stepped into an expanded role by adding guitar to his duties, while bassist Matt Patton was drafted from the Tuscaloosa group The Dexateens. The band hit the road non stop in 2014 and brought their live show to an all new level which was recently recorded over three nights at The Fillmore in San Francisco and will be released as a live album in 2015.
    JD McPherson
JD McPherson’s new single, “Let The Good Times Roll,” premiered recently at The Wall Street Journal and can now be heard/shared via SoundCloud. The song is the title track to McPherson’s highly anticipated new album, which will be released February 10 on Rounder Records. Already receiving widespread critical acclaim, the album was recently included in World Café’s 2015 Music Preview. Of the music, Ann Powers praises, “There are people who imitate and people who work within that genre…that become original. And I really think that JD is doing that with his band…” This new music follows McPherson’s widely praised 2012 debut, Signs and Signifiers, which resulted in McPherson’s selection as a Rolling Stone “Artist to Watch,” an NPR Music “Artist You Should Know” and a WXPN “Artist to Watch.” He was also awarded “Best Rock/Hard Rock Album” at the 2012 Independent Music Awards.
    The Cadillac Three
The Cadillac Three is a high-energy trio who describes their sound as “country fuzz.” Composed of three Nashville natives – Jaren Johnston (Guitar & Lead Vocals), Kelby Ray (Bass Steel Guitar, Dobro, Acoustic & Vocals) and Neil Mason (Drums, Percussion & Vocals) – all three guys have weathered wild adventures as a country group with a rockin’ edge. They have opened for acts like ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Church and Eli Young Band. Johnston is known for penning Keith Urban’s No. 1 smash “You Gonna Fly,” two new cuts on Tim McGraw’s latest record Two Lanes of Freedom, and several other tunes for acts like Kenny Chesney, Jake Owen, Sara Evans and Dierks Bentley.
    The Lone Bellow
Then Came the Morning, the second album by the Southern-born, Brooklyn-based indie-folk trio The Lone Bellow due out Jan. 27, opens with a crest of churchly piano, a patter of drums, and a fanfare of voices harmonizing like a sunrise. It’s a powerful introduction, enormous and overwhelming, as Zach Williams, Brian Elmquist, and Kanene Pipkin testify mightily to life’s great struggles and joys, heralding the morning that dispels the dark night. Working with producer Aaron Dessner of the National, the Lone Bellow has created a sound that mixes folk sincerity, gospel fervor, even heavy metal thunder, but the heart of the band is harmony: three voices united in a lone bellow. Then Came the Morning is the follow-up to the group’s critically-acclaimed, self-titled debut album which was released in 2013.

  • ERIC CHURCH SHATTERS NASHVILLE’S BRIDGESTONE ARENA ATTENDANCE RECORD.

NASHVILLE, TN. (Saturday, January 10, 2015) – Eric Church took the stage Saturday night (January 10th) in Nashville, Tennessee at Bridgestone Arena demanding, once again, that the fans pay attention, crackling “Nashville, I have high expectations for you. I live here!” And the 18,411 fans in attendance at The Outsiders World Tour roared letting their ‘Chief’ know they were right there with him for the night. Church’s record-breaking crowd shatters the venue’s highest attended event, The Blue Collar Comedy Tour, set on Feb. 16, 2006.

This news comes on the heels of Church’s achievement as the top-selling and highest-selling album debut of 2014 with his RIAA Platinum certified The Outsiders and four GRAMMY nominations including Best Country Song for his third No. 1, “Give Me Back My Hometown,” and Best Country Album — bringing his career tally to seven.

Nashville’s The Scene dubbed Church a “modern country troubadour,” and tonight’s show lived up to that moniker with a set list varying across his 2006 critically-acclaimed debut Sinners Like Me to 2009’s Carolina and deep album cuts from his 2011 commercial breakthrough Chief. Church kicked off the night with the title track to his latest album, “The Outsiders,” but allowed the crowd in Nashville to feel like an insider as he reveled in the ups and downs depicted through the characters portrayed across his vast catalogue.

Church will continue The Outsiders World Tour on Wed., January 14 in Oklahoma City, OK at the Ford Center. To purchase ticket or learn more about Eric Church, visit www.ericchurch.com and www.facebook.com/ericchurch, or follow @EricChurch on Twitter.

  • ERIC CHURCH’S VIDEO FOR ‘TALLADEGA’ PREMIERES ON VEVO. (VIDEO)

The video for “Talladega” — the fourth single from Eric Church‘s Grammy-nominated album, The Outsiders — premiered on VEVO on Friday (December 5th). Check it out below.

  • ERIC CHURCH GETS READY TO RELEASE THE VIDEO FOR HIS LATEST HIT, ‘TALLADEGA.’ (PRESS RELEASE)

Nashville, Tenn. – (Dec. 4, 2014) – This week, Eric Church debuts the music video for his latest hit single, “Talladega.”

Church Choir members will get an exclusive first look at the video today (Thursday, Dec. 4) at EricChurch.com. “Talladega” will then premiere Friday (Dec. 5) on Vevo.com and Saturday (Dec. 6 at 11 AM/ET) on “CMT Hot 20 Countdown,” before being released to all video outlets on Monday (Dec.8).

“Talladega” is the fourth single from Church’s critically acclaimed 2014 album The Outsiders, a CMA Album of the Year Award nominee. The poignant song looks at memory through the lens of a youthful trip taken to the iconic Alabama racetrack. Like an earlier single from The Outsiders, the chart-topping “Give Me Back My Hometown,” “Talladega” showcases Church’s softer side and his ability to filter shared universal experiences through deeply personal points of view.

The video, directed by Peter Zavadil from a concept by Church’s longtime manager John Peets, arrives as the song is set to break into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. “Talladega” is the North Carolina native’s 14th Top 20 entry on that chart.

“Talladega” weaves performances filmed at Nashville Speedway with a narrative about the passing of time that’s augmented with archival Super 8mm footage of family, celebration and, of course, racetrack scenes. The video’s release caps a stellar year for Church. The Outsiders enjoyed one of 2014’s best debuts regardless of genre and will likely appear on several year-end best-of lists. He was a top nominee at the CMA Awards as he continued to push country music in new directions, appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone’s first country issue, and played to his largest crowds yet.

Church is on the road with his “The Outsiders World Tour” mates Dwight Yoakam and Halestorm through Dec. 13 before kicking off the 2015 leg of the tour in January. For tickets or to learn more about Eric Church, visit www.ericchurch.com and www.facebook.com/ericchurch, or follow @EricChurch on Twitter.

  • ERIC CHURCH’S FANS ARE CHIEF IN HIS BOOK

Eric Church fans have proven to be a very loyal bunch, turning out to purchase nearly 145,000 copies of his latest album, Chief, during its first week of release. They’ve also been quite the inspiration for a handful of songs on the album, including his current single, “Drink in My Hand.” “I was on the bus with a couple of co-writers of mine, and we had just walked offstage and saw the crowd, saw our fans and saw ‘em put their beers in the air,” recalls Eric. “You could just tell that they had worked all week and this was their moment to let all that wash away. And that was where the title was born from really. ‘Everything’s OK now, I’ve got a drink in my hand, and I’m relaxing and I’m chilling.’ That just became a really good song born from our fans.”

Eric Church (Drink in my Hand) OC: …play that one. :42

“We were out on tour. I think we were on tour with Miranda [Lambert] at the time, and I was on the bus with a couple of co-writers of mine, and we had just walked offstage and saw the crowd, saw our fans and saw ‘em put their beers in the air. You could just tell that they had worked all week and this was their moment to let all that wash away. And that was where the title was born from really. ‘Everything’s OK now, I’ve got a drink in my hand, and I’m relaxing and I’m chilling.’ That just became a really good song born from our fans. They’re the ones that inspired that, and it was on tour. It was on a tour bus, and I’ll never forget it. I’m happy it turned out the way it did, and I think our fans are gonna love putting their beer, or whatever they’re drinking, up in the air when we play that one.”
