As you may know by now, Jon is signed to Luke Bryan‘s label 32 Bridge Entertainment, which is under UMG’s EMI Nashville. Jon was brought to town by songwriter (and a member of the Peach Pickers) Rhett Akins. Luke kept hearing great things about Jon and says he felt the need to sign him and put him on his Farm Tour, which Jon says was a “dream come true.”
“Luke Bryan has been a good buddy of mine,” says Jon. “We met a couple of years ago when he invited me out on his Farm Tour to open up, and it was pretty cool from the year before being out in the crowd watching the show and the next year being on that stage — it was incredible. It was a dream come true.”

He actually got his musical start in college when it was just a hobby for him. “I knew I wanted to do it for the rest of my life after I got to open up for Chase Rice at a fraternity party in front of 800 college kids and they were screaming every word to the song ‘Forever Girl’ that I had written,” says Jon. “And that’s when I knew I was wanting to be on stage and write music for the rest of my life.”

The Georgia native played football in high school and college, and with the NFL playoffs taking place right now and the Super Bowl right around the corner, Jon reveals his favorite NFL team is, of course, the Atlanta Falcons. Unfortunately, the birds are not in the running, but he won’t count them out for next year.
