• JORDAN DAVIS OVERWHELMED BY HOW HIS DEBUT SONG, ‘SINGLES YOU UP,’ IS AFFECTING PEOPLE.

Jordan Davis is experiencing his first Top 5 record with his debut song, “Singles You Up.” He says seeing how the song affects people is the main reason he writes and makes music.

“Obviously, country radio has been great in playing it and to see it where it’s at on the charts as a debut song, you know it’s kinda crazy you know to think that it’s doing what it’s doing,” says Jordan. “To see people’s reaction when we start playing that song, you know that’s why we do it. That’s why you write songs for people to hear ‘em, for people to feel something. That’s one that people have fun when they hear that song, you know when we play it in the live show. When I see people’s reaction to it on Twitter or Instagram, that’s why you write music — to make somebody feel something. And if they feel happy when they sing it, it’s pretty awesome. So, it’s one that I’m happy to be a part of.”

“Singles You Up” is the first release from his debut album, Home State, which will be available next Friday (March 23rd).

Audio / Jordan Davis talks about how his debut song, “Singles You Up,” has changed his life.

  • JORDAN DAVIS GIVES A NOD TO LOUISIANA ON HIS DEBUT ALBUM, ‘HOME STATE.’

Jordan Davis is preparing to release his debut album, Home State, later this month. The singer-songwriter is from Louisiana and what better way to honor where he came from than to reference them in the title of his first album?

“One of the main reasons that it’s called that is that this record, the ideas for these songs, the inspiration behind these songs can all be traced back to Louisiana. All those songs [on the record] started in Louisiana, and I thought what better way than to kinda put a line through all of them and tie a bow on this whole record. I thought Louisiana was too much, and I’ve always loved that title, Home State.”

Jordan’s Top 10 song, “Singles You Up,” is the first release from Home State, which will be available March 23rd.

Jordan heads to Decatur, Georgia March 20th for the next stop on his White Wine and Whiskey Tour.

  • JORDAN DAVIS’ SHREVEPORT ROOTS ARE REVEALED IN HIS MUSIC.

Jordan Davis is from Shreveport, Louisiana, and he says growing up there has heavily influenced his music.

“I’m from Shreveport, Louisiana and I think that it’s influenced my music, basically because it’s just a melting pot,” says Jordan. “You know, the musical history of Shreveport goes back very, very far, back to the Louisiana Hayride, and I think the music is a huge part of what Shreveport is. Being that close to Mississippi, being in the same state as New Orleans, there’s just a huge culture, mixed bag of different kinds of music. Then you throw in the music that’s been in my family – my dad, my mom, my uncle – I think it just kind of made for this perfect storm of what my music is today.”

Jordan is sitting inside the Top 10 on the country charts with his debut song, “Singles You Up.” It’s the first release from his upcoming album, Home State, which comes out March 23rd.

Jordan will join Jake Owen and Chris Janson on the Life’s Whatcha Make It Tour, kicking off May 18th in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Audio / Jordan Davis says being raised in Shreveport, Louisiana has crafted his musical style.

  • JORDAN DAVIS HITS THE TOP 10 WITH ‘SINGLES YOU UP.’

Jordan Davis has entered the Top 10 on the country charts with his debut song “Singles You Up.” He co-wrote the infectious song with Justin Ebach and Steven Dale Jones, and the Louisiana native has a pretty easy definition for the title of the song.

“‘Singles You Up’ to me means if you see a girl may be taken, but she’s a great girl, and ‘A’ if she ever gets singled up or if you think you can be a better boyfriend than the one she already has, just hang around and I don’t know, [you] maybe might get your shot,” says Jordan.

“Singles You Up” is the first release from Jordan’s forthcoming album, Home State, available March 23rd.

Jordan is currently on the road on his White Wine and Whiskey Tour. The next stops on the trek are Friday (February 23rd) in Dallas and Sunday (February 25th) in Austin, Texas.

  • CHRISTMAS 2017: Jordan Davis

Jordan Davis will be starting new traditions with his wife, Kristen, this year. While he’s excited to discover what those are, they will definitely include family.

“This will be my first Christmas with my wife, you know, married. I know we’ve talked about a couple of things that we want to start doing,” says Jordan. “This one is a little more exciting just because we have a blank sheet so we get to start our traditions now. Growing up, it was always like, we would do the morning with my dad’s side of the family, then we would take off on an afternoon drive to my grandparents, my mom’s side of the family in Texas and do Christmas night with them. I loved every bit of it. Just kind of spending time with family is something I don’t ever want to get away from, so we’ll start with that, but I’m anxious to see the traditions we come up with.”

Jordan has already started a Christmas tradition when he moved to Nashville a few years ago. He goes to the historic Belcourt Theatre to catch a viewing of It’s a Wonderful Life. “They play it at a theater here in town, and it’s something that I really look forward to going and seeing that movie,” he says.

As a young man, he and his brother Jacob asked for a specific present together. “Me and my brother asked for go-karts together, and I was actually worried that we weren’t going to get ‘em, because I knew my mom probably thought we were going to kill ourselves,” says the Louisiana native. “We woke up Christmas morning and me and Jacob, we run into the living room and don’t see a go-kart. I remember being like sad opening presents, and then my dad tells me he thought he heard some reindeer in the backyard. So, we jet to the back of the house and there’s two blue-and-white go-karts in the backyard. So, that’s the one I always remember. That was a great present.”

Jordan has hit the Top 20 with his debut hit “Singles You Up.”

“My favorite Christmas song is Nat King Cole’s ‘Buon Natale.’ I don’t know the record it’s on it, [but] we would just play that song over and over and over. So, that’s by far my favorite, but anything by Nat King Cole. I mean Nat King Cole is Christmas to me, always playing, always having some type of Christmas music on. I remember growing up, my mom, she would start on Thanksgiving. We would start listening to Christmas music and anytime you’d walk into the house if Mom was home, there was Christmas music playing. It was just background music, and it’s something I’ve carried over like there’s Christmas music that is played all the time. If we’re home, there’s Christmas music on.”
