Luke Bryan (wants to be entertaining in Vegas) OC: …every night. :49
“There’s so much history with performers in Vegas, and everybody at some point comes through Vegas. It’s no lie when they say it’s the entertainment capital of the world, and you better figure out a way to be entertaining because there’s, I mean there’s a million things around here to get entertained by, and it is a challenge. I mean, you’ve got to go out her and it’s another thing where you’ve got to go out here and prove yourself and create a buzz around town and create a buzz around everywhere that, what I want people to be doing when they come into Vegas, and I think as the world gets back to normal, the more people start funneling to Vegas and conventions get going, I mean you want on the street for everybody to be talking about, ‘Hey, did you go see the Luke Bryan show?’ ‘Cause that’s what it’s all about. I mean, I want to come out and here and this place be packed every night.”

“Jason asked if I would sing ‘If I Didn’t Love You’ with him. I knew I liked the song, and Jason and I have actually been kind of trying to do things together over the years. We’ve sang together before, but we’ve never officially recorded anything together. It just kind of felt like this could be our moment. I felt like it was a little bit of an unexpected duet to other people, but I feel like I kinda always knew at some point I’d probably sing with him officially, and this just seemed like, the stars were aligning and it just seemed like it was going to be the perfect fit.”

Audio / Jordan Davis says the success his two-week No. 1 song, "Buy Dirt," is having is pretty special.

“It just means a lot more. I wrote it with my brother (Jacob) and two my best friends (Josh and Matt Jenkins) in town and just the content of it. It comes from a really, really honest place. So, when you have songs that mean that much and you get to see them have success like ‘Buy Dirt’ is having, it’s a little bit more special.”

Audio / Jordan Davis talks about how he and his tree co-writers came up with "Buy Dirt."

Jordan Davis (Buy Dirt origin) OC: …that day. :55
“We took a writer’s retreat a little south of Nashville, me and three of my favorite writers in the world – Matt Jenkins, Josh Jenkins and my brother Jacob. We started every day – we were down there three days – and we started every day with coffee on the back porch, and Josh would lead us in some type of devotional. He would find some scripture and then we would just kind of chew on it for a little bit. That day he had read, and I need to remember the exact scripture, but it was something about being planted, being planted in the dirt and having a strong root system so you can weather storms and rain. That is really the start of ‘Buy Dirt.’ And I don’t know if that song comes if we don’t wake up early and get out there and kind of start talking about real life. That was where it all started, and I’m grateful, grateful that I (laughs) didn’t sleep in that day.”

Audio / Jordan Davis explains how Luke Bryan ended up on his song, "Buy Dirt."

Jordan Davis (Luke Bryan on Buy Dirt) OC: …my songs now. 1:13
“I met Luke three or four years ago at an awards show after party, and got to hang with him, but I really kind of got to sit and talk with him after a round of golf one day, and we just really talked about everything under the sun aside from music. Luke kind of embodies what that song is. You know a lot of people get to see Luke on American Idol or on stage, but Luke Bryan really is a great guy. I sent him a message one day, a text message actually attached with the song, and I was like, ‘Hey Luke, I wrote this. It means a lot to me. You came to mind whenever I was thinking about it, through the writing process, and this song just kind of says what you’re about, and if you want to sing on it, great, no pressure. Don’t even feel the need to text me back or whatever. Just listen to it and let me know.’ And he got right back with me. He’s like, ‘Man I love the song. Let me live with it for a couple of days.’ And he called me back four or five days later and was like, ‘When do you want me singing on this thing?’ That was a pretty cool moment. I’m such a big fan of Luke, and he’s been a huge influence on me since I moved to Nashville, and pretty cool to have him on one of my songs now.”

  • LUKE BRYAN IS READY TO HIT THE STAGE IN LAS VEGAS FOR HIS RESIDENCY AT RESORTS WORLD.

Luke Bryan is excited to get on stage at Resorts World on Friday for his first-ever headlining-run of shows in Las Vegas, which begin Friday (February 11th) The concerts will take place at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas, a 5,000-capacity, world-class theatre that opened last November. Carrie Underwood and Katy Perry have already played shows there, and Luke has many more to come. Click here for more information on his residency, as well as dates on his Raised Up Right Tour.

He says the stage is about the size of his stadium show stages, if not bigger, and they were able to build the set for his residency to accommodate the stage and use all the bells and whistles.

“The stage is the size of a stadium show stage. I mean, it may even be bigger, and when we do amphitheaters, sometimes they get really small, and we have to cut back all of our tricks and bells and whistles,” he explains. The thing about here in Vegas is we’re able to build a set that is tailored to how big the stage is, and every part of our stage has function and is mobile and moves. When Katy Perry did her first weekend here, I texted her how did it go? And she was like, it’s a big stage, get ready. So, we were able to kinda really add even more stuff to kind of make it feel big, but also make it feel intimate for the crowd.”

His pre-show routine won’t be much different than his customary rundown before he steps on stage. “You know, I’ve been really blessed to have done a lot of high-profile things from, Lord, doing the anthem at the Super Bowl and stadium shows and stuff like that,” says Luke. “I think the main thing for me is after all these years, I have a pretty cool routine that works and get a good night’s sleep, got all this family and friends coming in, you know get back in the dressing room, huddle up with the band, have a little pre-show toast and get out here and have fun. I mean, that’s what we’re supposed to be doing. I need to be on stage having fun.”

Since Luke, a sports fanatic, will be in Las Vegas during the Super Bowl matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams, he already has a party planned for family and friends who will be in town. “We’re gonna have a fun set up here in the hotel and have a big Super Bowl Party here at Resorts World and with all our friends. It’ll be weird, ‘cause I’ve never done the Super Bowl on West Coast time, so I guess it starts at like 3:30p, so and then right when the Super Bowl’s done, I have to fly through the night to Hawaii to do American Idol. So, (I’ve) got to kind of have a tame Super Bowl.”

Luke is currently making his way UP the country charts with his latest single, “Up.”

“I’m a big football fan. I mean, when I was growing up, if you asked me who my favorite team is now, I couldn’t tell you. But when I was a kid, it was the Dallas Cowboys. And I don’t know if it was because my mom bought my brother a Pittsburgh Steelers pennant for some reason, and bought me a Dallas Cowboys pennant, and of course over the year I fell in love with the Cowboys, and then I wanted a jersey the next Christmas, and then the next one, I wanted [more Cowboys stuff]. So, I became a long-term fan with those guys. But I like it all now that I’m older. I’ll watch any game, it doesn’t matter who’s playing. But [I] love football.”

Audio / Darius Rucker is a HUGE football fan, as everyone probably knows by now, and he explains why he loves football so much. I love college football, but for me watching pro football is better because the speed is so much more. For me, there’s two times a year, man — football season and waiting for football season.”

“My dad raised me to love football, so I think it’s like kind of in my blood to be obsessed with it. I feel like the guys are so passionate and they try so hard. Those people love playing that game as much as I love singing. I just love the heart and the drive and the passion behind it. I feel like those boys are playing as hard as they can – in college football and pro football – because it’s what they love to do and it’s their passion, and I just, I don’t know. I love it.”

Audio / Little Big Town’s beautiful and talented Karen Fairchild was a badass growing up when she was playing quarterback for her powder puff football team.

LBT (football story) OC: …my lip. :40
“I was the quarterback to my powder puff team. I was running the ball and I came around the corner – this was in high school – and a foreign exchange student, I think her name was Inga (KIMBERLY: “Inga.”), and I didn’t want to fumble ‘cause my brother and my dad were there, and I come from this very athletic family, so I held onto the ball. I knew I was going to go down, so I let my head hit first and I bit all the way through, but I didn’t fumble and I had a hole in my face, though. The sad thing is that it was just flag football, but I left my flags on and cleats and everything, ‘cause it looked cool, and I had blood running all down my jersey. I went to the emergency room like that, and they sewed up my lip.”

Luke Bryan (Super Bowl food) OC: …over again. :22
“Definitely Super Bowl is like the queso, the Frito Lay scoops with the Ro-tel situation. I guess it’s like, what’s the black-eyed pea stuff too? All of that, just stuff that you can sit there and have lots of sodium, and then just, it’s like Thanksgiving all over again.”

I feel like that’s usually why I’m there, is to watch the anthem and the half-time show, but yes, excited to eat all the bad things. And I’m honestly, I don’t feel pulled any way this year. I wish the (Tennessee) Titans were in it, but we’ll see what happens.”

“It’s become such a massive pop culture event, and I love that they’ve incorporated music and entertainment with the sport itself and the entertainment value that comes from that. It encompasses just a strong representation of American culture, and I’m a huge music fan, obviously, and I’m a huge sports fan, so those are two of my favorite worlds combined there.”

Travis Denning (Super Bowl 2022) OC: …amazing game. :35
“Hey y’all, Travis Denning here. I’m super fired up for this upcoming Super Bowl, mainly because Matt Stafford – a Georgia boy – is starting for the Rams. I’ve been a big fan of his since he played college at Georgia, obviously, and it’s amazing to see after 10-plus seasons, I think it’s like 13 seasons or something that he’s finally in the Super Bowl. So, I’m pulling for the Rams, but I’m a big Joe Burrow fan. I do like Joe Burrow. He’s fun, he’s hilarious, he’s an amazing football player, so I think it’s gonna be an amazing game.”

  • JORDAN DAVIS AND LUKE BRYAN CELEBRATE PLATINUM-CERTIFIED NO. 1 SINGLE “BUY DIRT” WHICH NOTCHES TWO-WEEK NO. 1 AT COUNTRY RADIO

Country music stars Jordan Davis and Luke Bryan celebrated No. 1 single “Buy Dirt” after they were surprised with a Platinum plaque while out on a hunting trip together. The hit song was officially certified Platinum by the RIAA earlier this month. Bryan shared a sneak-peek of the trip on his Instagram HERE.

Additionally, Davis notched his first multi-week No. 1 at country radio, as “Buy Dirt” remained at the top spot on the both the Billboard and Mediabase country airplay charts for a second consecutive week. The MCA Nashville recording artist earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, as “Buy Dirt” dethroned Walker Hayes’ “Fancy Like” after a 24-week run at No. 1.

“Buy Dirt” is Davis’ fastest moving single to date and the No. 3 most consumed country song of 2022, reaching over 250 million global streams. “Buy Dirt” has landed on four different Viral Charts in the US, Canada, Australia, and South Africa, has been inside the Top 200 country streaming chart all 34 weeks since release, and inside the Top 5 for 16 weeks. “Buy Dirt” has spent 25 consecutive weeks on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 chart.

Following the news last week, Davis announced a second date at the Ryman Auditorium on September 28, 2022. The shows will mark Davis’ first headlining appearance at the famed Nashville venue. The talented Louisiana native has performed “Buy Dirt” on NBC’S 3rd Hour TODAY, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and ABC’s Live with Kelly And Ryan. “Buy Dirt” received a nomination for Musical Event of the Year on the 55th Annual CMA Awards, Davis’ first of his career. Davis will hit the road this Spring for the second leg of his Buy Dirt Tour.

    About Jordan Davis
A Native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Jordan Davis graduated from LSU and briefly pursued the path of his degree working as an environmental consultant; however, his passion for music and songwriting eventually compelled him to move to Nashville in the summer of 2012. In 2018, MCA Nashville’s Jordan Davis released his Gold-certified debut album, Home State, which features his three consecutive No. 1 hits: Platinum-Certified “Slow Dance In A Parking Lot,” the Double Platinum-Certified “Singles You Up” and Platinum-Certified “Take It From Me.” In 2019 Davis won Best New Country Artist at the iHeart Radio Music Awards and was a two-time nominee for ACM New Male Artist of the Year.
