Several artists have taken the time off around the holidays and will hit it hard when they return to the road in mid-January. Some artists have resolutions and some are very helpful with their own hangover cures for those who imbibe too much on New Year’s Eve.

TouchTunes, the largest in-venue interactive entertainment platform in North America, today released its annual Year-End Music Charts reporting on the top played songs and artists of 2014. Based on songs played across its domestic network of over 60,000 jukeboxes, TouchTunes’ Year-End review provides unique insight into the music choices of bar and restaurant patrons regionally and nationwide.

Country sensation Luke Bryan was TouchTunes’ Top Played Artist in 2014, closely followed by AC/DC and Eric Church. “Since I started my career playing bars across this country, it makes me proud to be TouchTunes’ Top Played Artist this year,” commented Bryan. “I hope I can continue to make music that makes people want to have fun.”

Timed with the announcement, TouchTunes is also offering Luke Bryan fans a chance to win a trip for two to Luke Bryan’s ‘Crash My Playa’, an all-inclusive concert vacation in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. TouchTunes’ Most Played Song of the year was Brantley Gilbert’s “Bottoms Up.” The song was a smash hit from Gilbert’s Just As I Am, which recently won Favorite Country Album at the 2014 American Music Awards. Upon hearing the news, Gilbert said, “Just found out that “Bottoms Up” was the most played song on TouchTunes in 2014. It means so much to me that the song resonated with so many people.”

From coast to coast, Rock music continued to be the most played genre in 2014, followed by Country, and with the Pop genre coming in third. Pop superstar Katy Perry was TouchTunes’ 2014 Most Played Female Artist.

Luke Bryan recently wrapped his run with Tim McGraw’s Emotional Traffic tour, and the performer is going to miss the friends he made while on the road. According to Luke, being on a tour like he just finished, is like moving away from your hometown in a way. “It’s like you don’t get to hang with them much anymore, and you miss all the crew guys, you know,” the “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” singer explains. “It’s like you don’t get to hang with them much anymore, and you miss all the crew guys, you know? You get to become friends with guys out on the road with him, and it’s almost like the moving city just becomes closer and closer.”

Luke will headline his own trek this fall. CMT ON TOUR: Luke Bryan Tailgates & Tanlines, with special guests Lee Brice, Josh Thompson and Matt Mason. It will launch September 15th in Huntington, W.V. Luke will play 22 shows before the tour is scheduled to wrap November 19^th in Monroe, La.

“The main thing you’ll miss about any time you leave a tour – you know, you miss seeing the artists that you’re touring with. It’s like you don’t get to hang with them much anymore, and you miss all the crew guys, you know? You get to become friends with guys out on the road with him, and it’s almost like the moving city just becomes closer and closer. So, whenever the tour’s over, you just hate, you know the people you’ve kinda gotten close with, you’re not gonna get to see them as much anymore, and that’s just kind of the way this business is designed, you know, you can tour with somebody, and then it’s time to pack it up and move it on down the road and get something else going.”
