  • MADDIE & TAE’S EAGERLY-ANTICIPATED NEW EP OUT NOW.

Platinum-selling duo Maddie & Tae are “setting the stage for a bright journey” (Sounds Like Nashville) with their eagerly-awaited new EP One Heart To Another (Mercury Nashville), available today. Featuring five tracks, predominantly co-written by Maddie & Tae’s Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye, and produced by Jimmy Robbins and Derek Wells, the highly-anticipated project represents stories of love, loss and redemption. Available HERE, the collection serves as a snapshot of more music to come from the award-winning duo later this year.

One Heart to Another offers the “confessional” (Rolling Stone) “Friends Don’t,” the quickly applauded new single “Die From A Broken Heart,” touting 36 million streams and fresh at country radio following undeniable fan and critical demand – and the recently released “Tourist In This Town,” a song Music Row praises for its “spunk, vocal verve and tempo.” The swaggering kiss-off “New Dog, Old Tricks,” a winking, hip hop-inflected anthem that marks the first outside cut Maddie & Tae has recorded and vulnerable title track “One Heart To Another,” round out the boldly honest collection, which shows “a more sophisticated side” (Associated Press).

“The amount of gratitude I feel towards our fans is indescribable,” said Marlow. “We’ve waited four long years to release new music, and so have they. This EP is not only a collection of songs to us, but a reminder that dedication, passion, and perseverance always pays off. This feels so surreal, and it’s only the beginning.”

“This collection of songs is our unfiltered story and we’re so proud to tell it,” adds Dye. “Over the past couple of years, we’ve experienced love, pain, redemption and everything in between. And we wouldn’t change a thing.”

One Heart To Another Track List:
    1.  Friends Don’t (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Jon Nite, Justin Ebach)
    2.  Die From A Broken Heart (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Jonathan Singleton, Deric Ruttan)
    3.  Tourist In This Town (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Barry Dean, Jimmy Robbins)
    4.  One Heart To Another (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Jonathan Singleton, Deric Ruttan)
    5.  New Dog Old Tricks (Laura Veltz, Jesse Frasure)

Up next, the duo is gearing up to bring their “signature harmonies” (Rolling Stone) on the road as part of Carrie Underwood’s Cry Pretty Tour 360, kicking-off next Thursday, May 1 in Greensboro, N.C. The tour will hit 55 cities throughout North America on its run.

Award-winning duo Maddie & Tae are drawing praise for their new music “anchored around their stellar vocal pairings and some of the tightest harmonies on Music Row (Rolling Stone). “The sound is identifiable while still representing a distinct step forward” (Billboard), giving fans a taste from their debut on Mercury Nashville, available now. Maddie & Tae first broke out in 2013 with their brilliant take down of bro-country, “Girl In A Country Song,” which took Country radio by storm, skyrocketing to the top of the charts and quickly going PLATINUM. The duo became only the third female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay charts, also earning trophies from the Country Music Academy and Radio Disney Music Awards along with multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Award nominations. Receiving widespread praise from NPR, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, Glamour and others, country music’s hottest stars including Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice and Brad Paisley have welcomed Maddie & Tae on the road, with Carrie Underwood recently inviting the duo out as direct support on her 2019 Cry Pretty Tour 360 kicking-off in May. We have compiled an array of content — liners and a few soundbites – from MADDIE & TAE to equip you with some tools that we hope will come in handy and help you roll out tracks leading up to – and following – the release of the duo’s new ONE HEART TO ANOTHER EP. Check out the content below (including the cuts and transcriptions).

Maddie & Tae are set to release new music from their upcoming EP, titled One Heart to Another The five-song collection will be released on April 26th. All but one of the songs were co-written by Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye, including their recent hit “Friends Don’t,” as well as “Die From a Broken Heart” and “Tourist in this Town,” as well as the title track and the song “New Dog Old Tricks.”

The highly-anticipated project represents stories of love, loss and redemption and is a snapshot of more music to come from the award-winning duo later this year. “This is much more than just a new project for us. It has been our light at the end of tunnel for the past two years. It is about two best friends experiencing this highest of highs, the lowest of lows, and everything in between together. We hope our fans hear the vulnerability, heart break, strength, truth and passion we’ve poured into this. This is only the beginning,” said Marlow.

“The journey to create this project was long, but beautiful,” added Dye. “We put our heads down and tried to be the best artists we could be. And to us that looked like writing lyrics from a very honest place and sharing them with the hopes that someone out in the world feels less alone. So here is One Heart to Another. From our hearts to yours.”

Maddie & Tae (writing Die From a Broken Heart) OC: (Maddie) …special here. :39
TAE: “We wrote ‘Die from a Broken Heart’ two weeks after an actual break up that I had gone through. But I’m so, I don’t know. It’s hard for me to really dig into my emotions in the midst of my emotions. I’m more of like an after the point, and then I can kind of revisit it and work through everything. But I turned off my emotions for the most part during that writing session just to look at it from a logical and practical standpoint, just so that I wasn’t a mess during writing it. But that was probably the hardest one just because I felt everything that the song says.” MADDIE: “I knew she did not want to write a breakup song that day, but I was like ‘there’s something so special here.”

And then being able to meet her, she is just literally such a gem, and what’s even more special to me is I didn’t even know she was a part of the film when I wrote the song. I didn’t know who was in the film, and that was just a plus for me. And again, yet another blessing. This film is the gift that keeps on giving to me. • MADDIE & TAE ARE PROUD TO BE NOMINATED ACM DUO OF THE YEAR.

Maddie & Tae are nominated for Duo of the Year at this year’s ACM Awards, and they couldn’t be more thankful for the recognition.

“Being in the Duo category, especially being the only females in that category, is really, really special,” says Maddie Marlow. We are just in such good company. Every single duo that’s nominated this year, we are really good friends with and we love and support and root for, but just the fact the industry acknowledges what we’re doing, especially after the crazy past couple of years we’ve had, just to get that nod saying, ‘Hey! You’re doing good. Keep doing what you’re doing,’ is so special. We do not take that for granted ‘cause we didn’t expect that at all, and so it was a huge shock for us and such good news for us this year.”

  • MADDIE & TAE ARE MOVED TO TEARS–AND TO WRITE–AFTER SEEING THE FILM, “BREAKTHROUGH.”

Maddie & Tae are featured on the soundtrack for the movie, Breakthrough, which includes music from and inspired by the highly-anticipated motion picture. The two were sent the film and were blown away by the inspirational flick.

“They sent us the movie Breakthrough, and they sent it to us and we watched it on our computers individually. And I got a notepad out and just wrote down things that inspired me, but I cried probably every five minutes, and so it was hard to write thoughts down ‘cause I was so moved,” says Maddie Marlow. “Faith is a huge thing for Tae and I. We are very vocal about our faith, and just watching a movie that can invoke that much emotion and I feel like they captured the story so well and the acting was so good in the movie and I was so, so inspired and moved by it.”

The ladies were so inspired by the movie, the story and the acting, they were motivated to write a song called “People Need People,” which ended up on the film’s soundtrack.

Breakthrough, starring Chrissy Metz (This is Us), Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama) and Topher Grace (That ‘70s Show), is based on the inspirational true story of one mother’s unfaltering love and faith in the face of impossible odds when her son falls through an icy Missouri lake, but she refuses to give up hope as he lies lifeless.

The soundtrack, which also features songs contributed by Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, Darius Rucker, Mickey Guyton, Adam Hambrick and the film’s star Chrissy Metz, among others, is available Friday (April 5th), and the film will be released nationwide April 17th.

Maddie & Tae, who are nominated for Duo of the Year at this year’s ACM Awards, will hit the road with Carrie Underwood on the Cry Pretty Tour 360 beginning May 1st in Greensboro, North Carolina.

    Breakthrough Soundtrack Track List:

    1. “I’m Standing With You” – Chrissy Metz
    2. “Hold On” – Mickey Guyton
    3. “Love Wins” – Carrie Underwood
    4. “Breathe Again” – Lauren Alaina
    5. “Big Old Shoulders” – Darius Rucker
    6. “Colorful” – Jukebox the Ghost
