  • CHRISTMAS 2021: Lauren Alaina

Lauren Alaina released her own version of the holiday classic, “O Holy Night,” last year. She loves Christmas music so much she’d like to release a full album of holiday songs some day. She has a few favorite songs that she’d have to include on the collection. “I have a few favorites. It’s like a fast favorite actually. Surprisingly is ‘Oh Santa’ by Mariah Carey. I jam to that, girl. I mean I am crazy about that song,” says Lauren. “And I also like ‘O Holy Night,’ like when I just want to really sing and kind of get in the Christmas spirit. It was my grandmother’s favorite, one of her favorites. My grandmother loved Christmas.”

When it comes to her favorite holiday movies, she can’t pinpoint just one. “Oh gosh! I have so many favorite Christmas movies, but I usually like the funny ones like The Grinch and Elf,” declares Lauren. “I don’t know. I like all of it. It’s so hard to pick. I love Christmas.”

Lauren’s favorite Christmas gift would have to be the reason for the season. When she was a little girl, she really wanted a Bible with her name on it, just like her parents had. “My favorite Christmas gift I’ve ever been given, gosh, that’s so hard to pick, but my Mom and Dad had their names on the front of their Bibles, and I was so jealous of that as a kid. So, I begged my Mom to get me a Bible that had my name on it, and she actually got this Bible that you design the whole thing yourself. And she designed this Bible for me and it had my name on it and I still have it, and it’s one of my favorite gifts I’ve ever been given.”

As for her favorite Christmas gift as a child, Lauren goes back to the time Santa Claus brought her a Barbie bicycle, and she felt like she was in charge. “My favorite Christmas memory is when I got my Barbie bike when I was six years old, and I thought I ruled the world because it had a horn and it had Barbie’s picture on it.”

This year, Lauren will be heading back to Georgia to spend the holiday with family. “For Christmas this year, I’m going back home to Georgia. I’m gonna spend it with my mom and my dad and my nieces and nephews. My brother has two brand new baby girls. It’s gonna be our first Christmas celebrating them and they’re twins, so we get to buy double of everything (laughs) for them, but that is so exciting. My nephews are precious. They are six and three and they are just so much fun. So, I always look forward to spending it with them.”

“‘O Holy Night’ is one of my favorite Christmas songs ever; one of my favorite songs ever. I think that it’s just beautifully written. The melody and the lyrics and the meaning of the song, it’s a perfect representation of what Christmas is all about, and I love that. I am so honored that I was able to finally do a recording of it.”

  • LAUREN ALAINA IS GETTING READY TO RELEASE HER FIRST BOOK, GETTING GOOD AT BEING YOU.

Lauren Alaina is set to release her first-ever book, Getting Good At Being You: Learning to Love Who God Made You to Be on Tuesday (December 7th).

Lauren shares stories about everything from lost loves to getting a nose ring to battling an eating disorder to grieving a loved one’s death. Each story leads to practical tips, take-it-on-the-road strategies, and encouragement for your own personal and spiritual growth.

In this book, you will be inspired to:

    • speak to yourself with kindness and compassion
    • chase the dreams that light your spirit on fire
    • cultivate rich relationships with family and friends
    • identify self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors
    • offer forgiveness for yourself and others

Throughout the book, you will find:

    • behind-the-scenes photos from Lauren’s career in country music.
    • lists, tips, and strategies to boost your self-confidence.
    • prompts to help you dream big and run toward who you are.

She says she hopes navigating her own journeys in the book will help others. “It is all about my faith, my family, my journey, the ups and downs, hope and peace and setbacks and bouncing back. I’m just thrilled that I can share my journey, and hopefully, it can bring healing and peace and love to people that need it. That was my intention with it.”

The new scribe says the faith-based book, is about her path to loving herself again. “I’ve been doing a lot of stuff, faith-based stuff over the last couple of years. It was really laid on my heart to do that and I think this opportunity probably came to me from doing those other things. I hosted a Jesus Calling show. I did the Jesus Calling podcast. I started really talking – speaking out about my faith. And Harper Collins actually came to me to write the book and asked if I would be interested in writing a gift book,” says Lauren. “They sent me a couple of examples that I read, and I was excited because it really felt like it lined up with kind of what I do already. And it’s a faith-based book called Getting Good At Being You and it’s all about my journey of self-love and my faith and getting into the place that I’m in now and all of the things that happened. It’s not really a memoire but a lot of my life is woven through the book to share with people how I got through different situations and how different things shaped my faith, and I’m really proud of it.”

Trisha Yearwood wrote the foreword to the book.

Lauren is currently making her way up the country charts with “Getting Over Him,” which features her pal Jon Pardi.

Audio / Lauren Alaina says her new book, Getting Good At Being You, is about sharing her journey and hopefully help others along the way.

Since its inception in 2011, the CMA Foundation has been committed to improving and sustaining music programs throughout the U.S. so all students have equitable opportunities to participate in a high-quality music education. The non-profit, which is in the midst of celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, believes music and the arts are part of a well-rounded education. During this time, the CMA Foundation has observed why music programs are not thriving, seeing first-hand the challenges educators are facing and, most importantly, the systemic issues that must be addressed in order for every child to have access to music. Committed to its vision, the CMA Foundation is working directly with school districts to identify needs, understand their challenges, build community support and develop local and national resources from partners as part of the non-profit’s systems change model.

The CMA Foundation will continue to provide unique opportunities and support for music teachers and students as more Artist Ambassadors are announced throughout the year.

Her No. 1 debuting album Sitting Pretty On Top of The World, which includes her current single “Getting Over Him” featuring Jon Pardi, as well as her recently RIAA-certified Gold-selling “Getting Good.” Alaina will release her inspirational book “Getting Good At Being You” on Tuesday, November 23rd.
