Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Alan Jackson, CB30 will all perform during this year’s CMA Country Christmas. The show, hosted by Reba McEntire for the first time, will air November 27th at 8pm ET on ABC. Dustin Lynch, Brett Eldredge, Kelsea Ballerini, Trisha Yearwood, Chris Young, Dustin Lynch, CeCe Winans and Dan + Shay will also perform during the show, which will be held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.

Darius Rucker will perform “Winter Wonderland” during ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration this year. The show will premiere November 30th at 9pm ET, as well as “Home for the Holidays” during Disney Parks Magical Christmas Celebration on Christmas Day.

The new revamp of American Idol, starring Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry as judges, will premiere Sunday, March 11th on ABC.

Shania Twain is featured in the new free mobile game Home Street, as an in-game character throughout the month of November. The international superstar, who recently released her new album NOW, is the first guest character to appear in the game.

Darius Rucker will appear on ABC’s The View on Wednesday (October 25th).

Luke Bryan is a special guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday (October 26th).

During the Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame celebration earlier this week, the NSAI presented the 10 Songs I Wish I’d Written Awards. The honorees included Little Big Town’s “Better Man (written by Taylor Swift), Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” (written by Sam, Josh Osborne, Shane McAnally and Zach Crowell), “Different for Girls” by Dierks Bentley, featuring Elle King (written by JT Harding and Shane McAnally), Jon Pardi’s “Dirt on My Boots” (written by Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure and Rhett Akins) and Eric Church’s “Kill a Word,” which he co-wrote with Jeff Hyde and Luke Dick.

George Strait, Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town and Kacey Musgraves have been announced as performers at next year’s Bayou Country Superfest. The festival will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Oreleans over the Memorial Day weekend. Tickets go on sale next Thursday (November 2nd).

Shania Twain’s new album, NOW, bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week. The superstar’s first studio album in 15 years sold 137,000 in sales and equivalent streams during its first week. According to Billboard, 134,000 were in traditional album sales, which is the third largest sales week for a country album this year and the largest for a woman in nearly two years (Carrie Underwood’s Storyteller album debuted in November 2015 with 164,000 in sales and streams).

The album, which features “Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed” and “Life’s About to Get Good,” along with “Soldier” and many more, includes many varied styles and moods, according to Shania.

“Stylistically, the album is very diverse. I really took the freedom to just approach with an anything goes attitude. I really didn’t want to box myself in to any specific style or mood, and just let my creativity flow, and that resulted in a lot of just all of my favorite musical ideas in one,” she says. “So, I really had fun with it and explored things I’d never done before stylistically or things I always wanted to explore. I knew that I wanted the album to sound, you know, to not lose authenticity in the mix of everything. Once we got into production, I really wanted to make sure and my direction was I want to use authentic string instruments, acoustic instruments and use musicians with a lot of soul and a lot of really great live experience playing.”

NOW has also debuted at the top of the U-K chart, beating out Wolf Alice’s Visions of a Life by fewer than 800 copies, as well as topping the album chart in Australia and Canada, where it has already been certified platinum.

Shania will launch her NOW Tour May 3rd in Tacoma, Washington.

Words are still hard to come by, emotions and unfamiliar feelings are flooding our hearts and souls and trying to process the horrific tragedy at the Rt. 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday night (October 1st) is still something that we can’t quite do and which will affect us the rest of our lives. Eric Church performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on Wednesday night (October 4th) and spoke eloquently and passionately about Sunday’s shooting in Las Vegas. He was one of the headliners at the Route 91 Harvest Festival and painted the picture of the fans who attended the festival. He dedicated “Why Not Me,” a song he wrote this week, to Sonny Melton, the Paris, Tennessee man who died protecting his wife from the bullets that were being sprayed into the crowd of festivalgoers. Shania Twain performed “Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed” on The Late, Late Show With James Corden on Tuesday night (October 3rd), in promotion of her new album, NOW, that just came out last Friday (September 29th).

Shania Twain has released her brand-new studio album, NOW, her first full-length album since 2002.

Shania says the album isn’t about her past, but about her NOW. “The album is about the journey to getting where I am now, and the music has evolved so much from the onset of when I started writing the songs from a more confused and grieving place to a much more optimistic place of being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  And the songwriting helped me address so many emotions that I’d been either not coping with or that I wasn’t even aware of,” she says. “It’s about me now and it’s not about my past.  It’s about the journey from where I was, where I’d been and where I am today now.”

Writing the entire album and co-producing the collection of new songs, Shania said that’s the most special thing about it. “I was determined to make this creatively independent process and I didn’t want outside influence I wanted it to really be about my own thoughts and my own heart,” she says. “The songwriting process needed to be very intimate and really all about what I could do independently and also to prove to myself that I could do it myself and that was important to me.”

In what is easily one of the most anticipated albums of the year, global superstar Shania Twain will release her brand-new album NOW this Friday September 29. Singlehandedly writing every song on the record, NOW is the first album Shania has released in nearly 15 years, and fans along with the media are responding with delight and critical acclaim across the board. Shania said while she was writing the songs for her new album, Now, she wasn’t sure what her role was going to be in the production.

“I actually didn’t think I’d have much of a place in the production at all, but I just stayed involved the whole way as songs were being finished. I had ideas and visions about what instruments I wanted to use, the mood of the sound of each song – and they’re all individual. I wanted authenticity in the music, but I wanted to enjoy technology as well. I wanted to marry those two worlds,” says Shania. So, I had a lot of ideas already about that, but I thought I was going to give all that direction to the producers and then I would just wait, you know? [laughs] Wait and just see what would happen, but I just ended up being really involved I think more because there were several producers involved, I wanted it all to be cohesive in the end and it just took, I just had to stay involved. I had to tie it all together, and I really enjoyed that role. So that role fell more, came out really organically and not as a plan. I really loved that whole experience. I learned a lot too and appreciated my own ability there that I never really knew I had, so I learned that about myself. That was also really empowering, just saying, ‘Hmm, I can do this.’”

Shania Twain will release her new album NOW on Friday (September 25th), and it was a long process to get to this point.

“I took the long, long, long way around. I really didn’t think that I would ever make another album. Starting over in life is hard enough, like I’ll never, music – forget that. I didn’t have my voice back yet, and I never thought I’d sing again anyway, and I just didn’t think it was anything I’d ever do again, even though I was still writing. I was still writing, but I thought I was writing for other people. I thought, ‘Okay, I’m writing songs. I can still write. I’m still a songwriter, and still very much at the core a songwriter, so of course I’m going to write songs, but I’m just not going to be the singer of these songs anymore,’ and I accepted that,” says Shania. “I wrote the autobiography, which was very therapeutic. I did that first, then I did the OWN series, which was very therapeutic, then Vegas, then the tour, so everything was leading up to making the album, but without the courage yet still; they were all courage-builders, until I finally realized, ‘Wow! I really think I can record again. I think the quality is, there’s something still there and I can do it, and I can write it on my own. I’m not going to take on another co-writer. I’m just going to do this myself. And that took the most courage of all. The whole journey, that was the most courageous time for me saying, ‘You’re going to take all the weight yourself and all the risk yourself.’”

The new collection, featuring “Life’s About to Get Good” and more, is offered as both a 16-track deluxe and a 12-track standard album. All songs on NOW were written solely by Shania.

Shania will hit the road next year in support of her new album, NOW.  These dates mark Shania’s first tour since “Rock This Country” back in 2015. The tour kicks off May 3rd in Tacoma, WA and will run through the rest of the summer, culminating in Las Vegas on August 4th at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Shania will appear on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, as well.
