In addition, the Georgia native’s “Light It Up” and “Most People Are Good” was certified platinum, while his “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset” have been certified gold. On the album side, Luke’s What Makes You Country has been certified gold.

In American Idol: A New Journey Begins, Seacrest sits down with judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie to discuss the Season 2 return of the series and share a preview of this year’s crop of new talent. The panel also will answer fan questions and share behind-the-scenes secrets. It will air at 4pm ET Sunday. Darius Rucker has been announced as the recipient of the Music Business Association’s Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award for his years of charitable contributions, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and MUSC Children’s Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina (Darius’ hometown). He will accept the honor during the annual Music Biz 2019 Awards & Hall of Fame Dinner May 7th in Nashville. Previous recipients of the Humanitarian Award include Martina McBride, Melissa Etheridge, Annie Lennox and Bonnie Raitt, among others.

Travis Denning has released his brand new song, “After A Few,” which he wrote with Kelly Archer and Justin Weaver.

Travis says everyone can relate to the song’s message. “I think this song really is just about that story that a lot of people can relate to – being attracted to someone that probably logically in your head is not real, but something in your heart keeps taking you back,” he says. “I mean I know that’s a subject we talk about all the time, but we do it because it’s real.”

Travis joins Luke Bryan, Lauren Alaina, Jon Langston, Thomas Rhett, Luke Combs, Chris Janson, Jake Owen, Dustin Lynch, Chris Janson and Mitchell Tenpenny, among others at this year’s Crash My Playa event at the end of the month.

Dierks Bentley and Jon Pardi are among the country artists celebrating the late Troy Gentry (Montgomery Gentry) at the Grand Ole Opry House on Wednesday night (January 9th). The event, C’Ya on the Flipside, will also feature performances from Blake Shelton, Rascal Flatts, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, Tracy Lawrence, Lee Brice, Craig Morgan, Darryl Worley, Chris Janson, Ray Scott and many others, including Troy’s bandmate Eddie Montgomery. The sold-out show will benefit the Troy Gentry Foundation, as well as the Opry Trust Fund, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and a handful of other charities. Troy was killed in a helicopter crash in 2017.

Travis Denning performs at Ole Red in downtown Nashville on Tuesday (January 8th) as part of the Opry Next Stage Launch Concert. Tenille Townes, Riley Green and Teagan Marie will also perform.

Kacey Musgraves is set to play this year’s Bonnaroo Festival on Saturday, June 15th. The four-day event kicks off Thursday, June 13th and runs through Sunday, June 16th in Manchester, Tennessee. Some of the other acts performing over the weekend include Maren Morris, Kacey’s husband, singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly, Post Malone, Childish Gambino, Hozier, The Lumineers and Cardi B, among others. Tickets go on sale Thursday (January 10th).

What are some of your favorite stars doing to welcome in the New Year? A few of them are working to help fans celebrate. Several artists have taken the time off around the holidays and will hit it hard when they return to the road in January. Keith Urban is set to headline Music City on New Year’s Eve for the third consecutive year. He’ll perform at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park as part of the Jack Daniels Music City Midnight bash. Peter Frampton, Judah & the Lion, Caitlyn Smith, Devon Gilfillian and the Fisk Jubliee Singers are also on the bill. Keith will be featured on “NBC’s New Year’s Eve,” which will be hosted by Carson Daly and Chrissy Teigen. The special will air Monday, December 31st from 10-11pm ET/PT and return 11:30pm – 12:30am ET/PT.

Lauren Alaina will perform during the West Coast celebration of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019.” She joins Kane Brown, Bazzi, Kelsea Ballerini, Camila Cabello, Ciara, Halsey, Shawn Mendes, Weezer, The Chainsmokers, Foster the People, Dua Lipa, Ella Mai and Charlie Puth, as well as a performance by Macklemore with Skylar Grey. Airing just after midnight, Post Malone will perform from a stop on his current tour in Brooklyn, New York. The televised celebration takes place Monday, December 31st beginning at 8pm ET on ABC.
