• PRISCILLA BLOCK KNEW MUSIC WAS GOING TO BE HER PASSION WHEN SHE WAS A TEEN.

Priscilla Block may have been discovered on the social app Tik Tok singing songs, but she knew at a young age music was going to be her career path. She began her journey before she could even drive a car.

“Because I wasn’t going to be a doctor, I wasn’t going to be a lawyer. I mean I wasn’t the schoolgirl. I wasn’t, at all, ever,” says Priscilla. “You know, I picked up the guitar when I was 15 and I started writing songs, and immediately I knew that was what I wanted to do, and I was like, ‘I think I’m kinda good at this.’ And, what better place to go to than Nashville, baby?”

Priscilla, who was just named as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, is currently scaling the country charts with her single, “Just About Over You.”

Audio / Priscilla Block says she knew she'd make music her life's journey.

  • ERIC CHURCH IS WORKING ON A NORTH AMERICAN TOUR.

Eric Church is working on a North American tour…right now. The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year didn’t reveal many details in a video message posted on his socials this morning (February 5th), but he did sincerely want to assure fans they will once again see him live as soon as this global pandemic is contained.

“We ARE working on a North American tour. We’re waiting for the right timing to officially announce all the details, but I want you to know that  a tour is coming and we are very excited to play new music for our old friends. Coming to many cities that we’ve been to in the past and a few new ones. As usual, the Church Choir will get the first opportunity to buy tickets when we go on sale. I cannot wait to see you on the road.”

Today’s news of a tour on the horizon is accompanied by the release of an additional song off his forthcoming three-part project, Heart & Soul, with the bare-boned ballad Lynyrd Skynyrd Jones available everywhere today. The track is featured on the third album in the collection, Soul, set for release Friday, April 23 following Heart’s release on Friday, April 16 and the release of the Church Choir’s exclusive vinyl-only middle album, &, on Tuesday, April 20.

“‘Lynyrd Skynyrd Jones’ was such a tough one for us to get, but it ended up as one of my favorite performances of my career,” reflects Church. “Casey Beathard had written that song and I first played it laying back on my bed for a guitar vocal. I tried to play it the same way a thousand times after that, but there’s a way that song develops that we never could recapture – something about relaxing and laying back; there’s a lope to that song. I started to worry about the soul going away the more we tried, so Jay Joyce said, ‘let’s let Brian Sutton have a shot at it.’ We let him hear it one time and then he was feeling it as we went. There’s some extra pauses and spaces in the back of the recording as he figured it out – I think that’s what makes that song. It’s compelling and that’s a lot to do with Brian and Jay.”

In addition to releasing new music, Church will also take to the field at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium next Sunday, February 7 to perform the National Anthem with R&B star Jazmine Sullivan ahead of Super Bowl LV. The 10-time GRAMMY nominee recently spoke with the Los Angeles Times about the prestigious performance, noting “With what’s going on in America, it feels like an important time for a patriotic moment, an important time for unity. The fact that I’m a Caucasian Country singer and she’s an African American R&B singer — I think the country needs that.” Catch all the pre-game action beginning at 6pm ET on CBS.

Following the game, Church will also perform as part of Verizon’s “Big Concert for Small Business” benefit, streaming live at 10pm CT. Fans can visit VerizonBigConcertSmallBiz.com for more information about the event and how to tune in.

Eric is currently racing up the country charts with his latest single, “Hell of a View.”

  • DARIUS RUCKER IS LOOKING FORWARD TO SUNDAY’S SUPER BOWL MATCH-UP BETWEEN THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AND THE TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS.

As everyone knows, Darius Rucker is a huge football fan. He has said in the past, “For me, there’s two times a year, man — football season and waiting for football season.” While his beloved Miami Dolphins with a 10-6 record didn’t make it to this year’s Super Bowl, he will be watching Sunday’s (February 7th) game, which he says is going to be really interesting.

“Not only do we have Mahomes is the best new quarterback and Tom Brady who I have to finally admit is the goat, even though Dan Marino is 1A, but I’m not going to go into that (laughs). But with those two teams going at each other, and not just them, but to have two of the greatest offensive minds ever with Andy Reid and Bruce Arians on the sidelines and then you’ve got (Eric) Bieniemy on the sidelines, another great offensive mind, it’s going to be hard for these defensives to slow these teams down, because you’ve got two weeks to prepare, and everything that the defensives are looking at on film right now, everything they see they’re not going to see on Sunday,” says Darius. “It’s going to be all new, and it’s going to be all different formations and different formations and different that and different routes out of different formations that they’ve never done before and it’s gonna be tough. I’m looking for a great game. You know, there’s that’s part of me that wants to go Kansas City is going to win, ‘cause when you look at it that’s how the football mind, how I see it, but I made a vow after the last two weekends of the playoffs that I’m never gonna bet against Tom Brady again. (laughs) So, I don’t know who’s going to win, (laughs) but I think it’s gonna be a great game.”

Darius is also commissioner in six different fantasy football leagues. This year he didn’t fare as well as he has in years past. “Yes, I did my fantasy football leagues this year, and I made the playoffs in one (laughs) and lost in the first round.” (laughs)

The South Carolina native is poised to top the country charts very soon with his latest single, “Beers and Sunshine.”

“I’m a big football fan. I mean, when I was growing up, if you asked me who my favorite team is now, I couldn’t tell you. But when I was a kid, it was the Dallas Cowboys. And I don’t know if it was because my mom bought my brother a Pittsburgh Steelers pennant for some reason, and bought me a Dallas Cowboys pennant, and of course over the year I fell in love with the Cowboys, and then I wanted a jersey the next Christmas, and then the next one, I wanted [more Cowboys stuff]. So, I became a long-term fan with those guys. But I like it all now that I’m older. I’ll watch any game, it doesn’t matter who’s playing. But [I] love football.”

Audio / Darius Rucker is a HUGE football fan, as everyone probably knows by now, and he explains why he loves football so much. I love college football, but for me watching pro football is better because the speed is so much more. For me, there’s two times a year, man — football season and waiting for football season.”

Those people love playing that game as much as I love singing. I just love the heart and the drive and the passion behind it. I feel like those boys are playing as hard as they can – in college football and pro football – because it’s what they love to do and it’s their passion, and I just, I don’t know. I love it.”

“I was the quarterback to my powder puff team. I was running the ball and I came around the corner – this was in high school – and a foreign exchange student, I think her name was Inga (KIMBERLY: “Inga.”), and I didn’t want to fumble ‘cause my brother and my dad were there, and I come from this very athletic family, so I held onto the ball. I knew I was going to go down, so I let my head hit first and I bit all the way through, but I didn’t fumble and I had a hole in my face, though. The sad thing is that it was just flag football, but I left my flags on and cleats and everything, ‘cause it looked cool, and I had blood running all down my jersey. I went to the emergency room like that, and they sewed up my lip.”

It encompasses just a strong representation of American culture, and I’m a huge music fan, obviously, and I’m a huge sports fan, so those are two of my favorite worlds combined there.”

And I got to spend some time with Peyton and Eli, and they have another brother [Cooper]. I’ve followed [Peyton’s] career for a long time,” he says. “Actually, a couple of years ago, I was at a concert of Kenny Chesney’s in Denver, and I was standing there side stage and Jake Owen was there. He had opened up for [Kenny], and I’ve been a friend of his for a little while, and he turned and introduced me to the guy behind us, who I wasn’t aware of at the time, but it turned out to be Peyton Manning. He was just a really nice guy, and it was just pretty cool to be on the stage with two people who inspired me in two different arenas, with Peyton with football and Kenny with music.”
