• MICKEY GUYTON WILL RELEASE EP BRIDGES SEPTEMBER 11th.

As announced today via The Associated Press, Capitol Nashville’s Mickey Guyton will release a new EP Bridges on September 11. The songs featured on Bridges were co-written by Mickey over the last two years and include the critically acclaimed, previously released tracks “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?,” “Black Like Me” and current single “Heaven Down Here.”  The Texas native who NPR calls “a poised and galvanizing country-pop conscience” continues to speak her truth on Bridges which features co-writers including Karen Kosowski, Hillary Lindsey, Jesse Frasure, Nathan Chapman and Victoria Banks.

“Two years ago, this project didn’t feel like it was even a possibility,” shares Guyton. “This EP proves that in your darkest moments, you can have your biggest breakthroughs.  I think back to all of the obstacles in my life and career, including writing and recording most of this EP in quarantine during a time of social unrest, and how it has all led to the birth of this beautiful project. I hope these songs provide others with the same happiness and strength they have provided me in these uncertain times.”

Mickey was recently featured by outlets including Pollstar, NPR, Rolling Stone and the Los Angeles Times. Her powerful songs including the autobiographical “Black Like Me,” and honest “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?” continue to receive acclaim from critics and fans. Written at a cross-genre writing camp in 2019, “Black Like Me” is one of NPR’s 25 Favorite Songs of 2020 and Paste Magazine’s Best Country Songs of 2020.

  • CAYLEE HAMMACK’S “DREAM COME TRUE” APPEARS ON HER DEBUT ALBUM, IF IT WASN’T FOR YOU.

Caylee Hammack just released her debut album, If It Wasn’t For You, and she experienced a surreal moment during the process of putting together her record when she realized a dream come true — she got to record a song with the iconic Reba McEntire. The song, titled “Redhead” is a fitting tribute to all the fiery gingers in the world.

“Having a song I get to sing with Reba McEntire is a dream come true. It definitely is a childhood dream of mine that I never, honestly, thought could ever happen,” says Caylee. “But God has been so good to me to connect me to wonderful people that I look up to (and) that I’ve always admired, and I admire even more when I get to know them personally. Reba McEntire is such a professional. She’s such a businesswoman, but also so kindhearted and good willed. Just working with her, it was truly a dream that I never thought could come true.”

Caylee was supposed to tour as Reba’s opening act this spring and summer, but the tour — along with many others — were postponed until next year because of COVID-19. Caylee is making the most of it, though, hosting virtual concerts with her friends and CMT every week or having socially distanced backporch parties with pals Ashley McBryde and Tenille Townes.

Luke Bryan (playing the Opry goal) OC: …play your music. :36
“When I moved to Nashville, I had a dry erase board and I wrote all these goals, and certainly writing a number 1 song, singing a number 1 song and playing the Opry were the first three. I mean, the day I got to walk onstage at the Opry is – I mean April 6th, 2007. It’s a was the day, I’m pretty sure it was April 6th, anyway. You know, I certainly moved here to have a presence there and to be able to call up the Opry and go ‘Hey, I want to come play there.’ It’s so amazing that they say, ‘Come on, Luke. Come play your music.’”

  • CAYLEE HAMMACK SET TO RELEASE HER DEBUT ALBUM ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 14TH.

Caylee Hammack will release her debut album, If It Wasn’t For You, on Friday (August 14th). The thoughtful Georgia born-and-bred singer-songwriter penned all 13 tracks on the collection, including “Just Friends,” “Family Tree,” “Redhead” (which is a duet with Reba McEntire). She titled the collection, If It Wasn’t For You, to honor all of those who helped make her dream of being a country music artist a reality.

“The album was named If It Wasn’t For You, because I could not have made this record in any capacity without all of the people in my life – my family who have encouraged me from day one; God being able to give me ideas and lining me up with people to make it; every single person listening. They don’t understand how important it is that they listen so I could be heard. If it wasn’t for everyone, none of this would happen.”

Currently nominated for ACM “New Female Artist Of The Year” and “Music Event Of The Year,” Caylee Hammack has been noted as an “Artist To Watch” by outlets including The Bobby Bones Show, Rolling Stone and HITS Magazine for her “mix of clever lyrics and haunting melodies” (Music Row). With her breakout Top 30 single “Family Tree” marking the most-added single at Country radio by a female artist in over three years, Hammack has “created a kind of country music that’s larger—and brighter—than real life”(HITS Magazine). The Capitol Nashville recording artist has previously brought her unforgettable live set to opening slots for Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, Trisha Yearwood, Brothers Osborne and some of country music’s biggest festivals. • KEITH URBAN REVEALS COLLABORATIONS WITH P!NK, BRELAND, NILE RODGERS AND ERIC CHURCH FOR THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1.

When the four-time GRAMMY Award winner revealed the track listing for his September 18th album release THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1 on August 7th, little did Keith Urban know that worldwide social media chatter would erupt because of faded yellow blocks placed next to songs, “Out The Cage” and “One Too Many.” Fans from around the globe, quipped, speculated about collaborators and exhibited the tell-tale signs of FOMO.

Today, the chatter ends as Urban reveals that “Out The Cage,” the album’s opening track, highlights a collaboration with Breland and the legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers, while “One Too Many” features the incomparable P!nk.  An alternate version of “We Were,” features the song’s co-writer, Eric Church.

As the collaborators were announced Urban explained, “When I collaborate, I’m always looking for that ‘third thing.’  There’s what I do, there’s what my collaborator does and then there’s this ‘third thing’ that I’m most curious about.  That’s what interests me the most – when the sum of the parts becomes even more than what I envisioned.  That’s what I love so much about it – finding common ground, shaping it and bringing it together.”

  • SONG SUFFRAGETTES TEAMS UP WITH WOMEN’S SUFFRAGE CENTENNIAL COMMISSION THROUGH AUGUST WITH SPECIAL GUESTS MADDIE & TAE, ASHLEY McBRYDE AND RUNAWAY JUNE.

All-female, singer-songwriter collective, Song Suffragettes has teamed up with the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment which gave women the constitutional right to vote on August 26, 1920. As announced by The Tennessean this morning, the Commission will be sponsoring Song Suffragettes’ shows at The Listening Room Café on Aug. 10, Aug. 17 and Aug. 24 along with high-production YouTube livestreams from those shows.

To heighten the centennial celebration, Song Suffragettes has invited special guests to participate in those August shows with  Maddie & Tae (Aug. 10), Ashley McBryde (Aug. 17) and Runaway June (Aug. 24) joining members of Song Suffragettes’ ever-revolving and expanding roster which currently consists of over 260 female singer-songwriters.

“The Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission is thrilled to partner with Song Suffragettes in celebration of the congressionally designated National Women’s Suffrage Month in August 2020,” said WSCC Executive Director Anna Laymon. “Music holds an important place in the history of women’s fight for the vote — like in all social movements, music helped to inspire and unify the suffragists who were dedicated to expanding American democracy. These activists not only secured the passage and ratification of the 19th Amendment, but they also broke barriers and opened up new opportunities for women for generations to come. By working to ensure talented women artists are represented and celebrated in the world of country music today, Song Suffragettes carries forward the legacy of the courageous trailblazers who fought for women’s right to vote 100 years ago. It is a privilege to join with Song Suffragettes to honor the sacrifice and courage of the suffragists.”

Based in D.C. and funded by the U.S. Congress, the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission is conducting suffrage inspired digital programming to commemorate August 2020 as National Women’s Suffrage Month. The Commission is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical federal agency with multiple initiatives that can be explored at www.WomensVote100.org.

“For over six years, Song Suffragettes has been fighting the good fight to support underrepresented female voices in music,” said Todd Cassetty, founder of Song Suffragettes. “We named Song Suffragettes as an obvious nod to the fearless women who faced a restrictive government and fought for seventy-two years to earn the right to vote. So it is a true honor to partner with the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission and be the musical component of their celebration of the 19th Amendment’s centennial.”

The livestream series titled Live From Nashville: Song Suffragettes will be available for free via the Song Suffragettes’ YouTube channel – YouTube.com/SongSuffragettes. A limited number of tickets are available to attend these shows in person and can be purchased at www.ListeningRoomCafe.com.
