• KEITH URBAN RELEASES VIDEO FOR “SUPERMAN” FROM HIS UPCOMING ALBUM, THE SPEED OF NOW, PART ONE.

Keith Urban teamed up with Variety to premiere the video for  “Superman,” the fourth song Keith has released from his upcoming album, “The Speed of Now Part One,” available September 18th.

Keith is always looking for different and creative ways to present new music, and this particular video pairs him with an animated drawing flipbook of him singing and playing guitar. “Obviously trying to shoot a video right now is challenging, as any artist can testify,” Keith tells Variety. “So it’s about trying to come up with a way where we could do something a little different and not just be dependent upon solely green-screen type performance or a solo performance. I was talking with Ben Dalgleish, who’s this really great creative designing artist in my world who put together our whole Vegas show that we did. We were talking about the Aha “Take on Me” video, and he said, “Well, what about a flipbook video?” He hooked me up with a guy called Andymation, who has a really popular channel on YouTube, and we brought him to start work on the concept. I did some filming here in Nashville over at our warehouse. We have a warehouse where we store all our equipment and we have a big green-screen setup there, so we shot all of my performance there.”

Of writing the song, he explains, “I did a writing retreat here in Nashville, and I particularly wanted to put together people I’d written with, but hadn’t written with together. There’s this three-man collective from Los Angeles called Captain Cuts that I wrote a song with on the “Graffiti U” album, and they bring this kind of frat-house, loose, go-at-anything vibe it’s really exciting to be around. And Craig Wiseman, a Nashville writer who I really, really love, comes at things from a different vibe again. I put Captain Cuts, Craig Wiseman and myself in a room, and “Superman” was the result of that first-day collaboration.”

Keith hits the Top 10 with his latest single, “God Whispered Your Name.”

  • SAM HUNT RELEASES THE VINYL VERSION OF HIS LATEST ALBUM, SOUTHSIDE, ON FRIDAY.

Sam Hunt will release the vinyl version of his latest album, SOUTHSIDE, on Friday (July 17th). The collection, which includes a free poster, features 12 songs including his multi-week No. 1 and six-times platinum “Body Like A Backroad,” the recent No. 1 smash “Kinfolks” and “Hard to Forget,”which is poised to hit the top of the country charts next week.

Sam says the title SOUTHSIDE seemed to fit the songs he collected for the record. “The album title came well after all the songs were finished. I essentially sat down and made a list of potential titles and just off the top of my head, I just sort of started writing down words or phrases that felt like the songs or felt like the record. SOUTHSIDE was the one that just kept standing out. I didn’t put a whole lot of thought into why that was the case. Southside just for me is a phrase that just feels like my rural and urban roots, you know, where I’m from, I kind of feel like I’m from the south side of that place, and obviously, the word south is in the title so there’s association with being from the South. More than having a really good backstory for the title, it just felt – when I looked at it on the page – it felt like the record.”

    SOUTHSIDE VINYL TRACK LIST:

    SIDE A

    1-2016

    2-Hard To Forget

    3-Kinfolks

    4-Young Once

    5-Body Like A Back Road

    6-That Ain’t Beautiful

    SIDE B

    1-Let It Down

    2-Downtown’s Dead

    3-Nothing Lasts Forever

    4-Sinning With You

5-Breaking Up Was Easy in the 90’s

    6-Drinkin’ Too Much

Mercury Nashville Recording artist Travis Denning is racking up another accolade, with the news that his recent No. One hit single “After A Few” has officially been certified GOLD by the RIAA, with over 500,000 units of the song being consumed since its release. Denning was surprised by his team at Universal Music Group, Red Light Management, RED Creative and WME with a drive-by celebratory parade in Nashville, TN to mark the milestone, available to watch here. Denning co-wrote “After A Few” with Kelly Archer and Justin Weaver, and just released his instantaneous follow up single to country radio, “Where That Beer’s Been,” that is already being praised as “made for summer fun” (Taste Of Country) as Denning “cranks up the amps to highlight his guitar skills” (Rolling Stone).

“Definitely not the normal way to celebrate a gold record, but I was once again blown away by the love and support from my team,” shared Travis Denning. “The drive-by congratulations was awesome and hilarious. So happy and thankful to be able to finally say ‘After A Few’ is GOLD!”

A native of Warner Robins, Georgia, singer/songwriter Travis Denning first made waves showcasing his “future star power” (Billboard) with the release of his Top 40 debut single “David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs” and most recently his No. One “sleek anthem” (Music Row) “After A Few.” Denning kicked off 2020 as direct support on Dustin Lynch’s STAY COUNTRY TOUR and has previously opened shows for Cole Swindell, Alan Jackson, LANCO, Riley Green and his first headlining “Heartbeat Of A Small Town Tour.” With over 281 million streams worldwide, Denning has been spotlighted for his head-turning sound and was selected this past year as an Opry NextStage recipient and CMA KixStart Artist, as he makes his mark within the industry. Inspired at a young age, Denning developed a love for country, pop, rock and heavy metal and started playing local bars from the age of 16, as he built a strong following from his distinctive songs and raucous guitar solos. A prolific writer with an unquestionable stage presence, Denning moved to Nashville and secured outside cuts by Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, Michael Ray and more. Denning’s newest songwriting cut includes Michael Ray’s Top 20 single “Her World Or Mine.” For more information, visit travisdenning.com.
