• JON LANGSTON RELEASES COVER OF “DON’T ROCK THE JUKEBOX.”

32 Bridge Entertainment/EMI Records Nashville’s Jon Langston released an acoustic cover of Alan Jackson’s “Don’t Rock The Jukebox” this Saturday, marking the anniversary of the song hitting No. 1 on July 6, 1991. Growing up in Loganville, GA, only an hour from Alan’s hometown of Newnan, Langston’s cover of the song is a nod to one of his most important musical influences and one of his childhood heroes. “When I was a kid, my granddaddy gave me my first country CD, Who I Am by Alan Jackson. Alan Jackson is the reason I fell in love with country music,” recalls Langston.

Additionally, Langston released his official music video for “Dance Tonight” on June 26. The video features Langston performing in a bar where a guy finds himself daydreaming up a scenario of approaching a girl across the room. As he comes back to reality, the song closes out giving him the confidence to turn his imagined romance into reality.

Langston is currently on the road with Luke Bryan as part of his Sunset Repeat Tour, and he just released his new single, “Now You Know,” which goes for adds at country radio on July 22. To learn more about Jon Langston, check out www.jonlangston.com for new music, tour dates, and more.

  • JORDAN DAVIS’ “SLOW DANCE IN A PARKING LOT” IS A HUGE HIT AT HIS SHOWS AND AT WEDDINGS.

Jordan Davis is dancing his way up the country charts with his latest hit, “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot,” and the tune has danced its way into people’s hearts.

“When you look out and you play a song like ‘Slow Dance,’ and you see a guy wrap his girl up during the song or a girl nuzzling up next to the guy, it’s emotion. It means they’re feeling something,” says Jordan. “I’ve gotten a lot of messages in meet and greets that ‘Slow Dance’ has been the first dance in a lot of weddings so far. That’s a great feeling to know that you had a pretty key role in a very, very special day for some people.”

“Slow Dance in a Parking Lot” is the follow-up to two No. 1 songs for Jordan – “Singles You Up” and “Take It From Me” – from his album, Home State.

Jordan has teased on his socials that the official video for his latest hit is coming soon.

“If there’s ever a matchmaker song (of mine), it’s called ‘Slow Dance in a Parking Lot.’ I’ve teed it up. It’s on you now! But when you look out and you play a song like ‘Slow Dance,’ and you see a guy wrap his girl up during the song or a girl nuzzling up next to the guy, it’s emotion. It means they’re feeling something, and we write these songs for people to hear them and I hope I’m sparking those kinds of feelings and emotions that are written about people that I feel that way about. I’ve gotten a lot of messages in meet and greets that ‘Slow Dance’ has been the first dance in a lot of weddings so far. That’s a great feeling to know that you had a pretty key role in a very, very special day for some people.”

  • ERIC CHURCH’S “SOME OF IT” IS A COMING-OF-AGE TUNE THAT STRIKES A CHORD WITH FANS.

Eric Church is closing in on the top of the country charts with his latest song, “Some of It,” which is resonating with his fans.

“That’s a song, a coming-of-age song, it’s an adult song. It’s adult music. If you listen to the thematics in that and what it’s about, it’s about being older and having some wisdom about you. I think that’s something that I appreciate in my fan base now that early on probably wasn’t there,” says Eric. “I think now to see them grow – to see the fan base grow – it’s just one of those songs that came along at the right time. And again, it was such a blessing that happened. It wasn’t going to be on the album. It was just one of those freak things that I put it on the album, the last song on the album. The album was done, and all of a sudden it becomes the pillar or one of the pillars on the album. I think again, you go back to it’s one of the great things about music, is you just never know what’s going to happen until it’s all said and done. You can try to plan all you want to, but you’ll probably not going to figure it out.”

Eric has wrapped this leg of his record-setting Double Down Tour, but he still has a couple of festivals on the books, including the Ottawa Blues Fest on Friday (July 5th). He’ll resume the Double Down Tour September 13th and 14th in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Kacey Musgraves had a chance for reflection, emotion and gratitude when her exhibit, All the Colors, opened at Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The display features detention slips from school, song lyrics, baby photos, senior yearbook, outfits, light up boots and so much more of her storied life and career.

For the Golden, Texas native, it was emotional going through the items featured in the exhibit.

“I’m very proud of my story and where I am right now,” says Kacey. “Something that I try really hard to work at is being present in the moment, and there’s so many beautiful things happening all the time, and I don’t think that a human really knows how to do that, how to be good at that. So, I didn’t think it would make me super-emotional – iI think it takes a lot for me to do that – but to see everything laid out in a physical sense, a timeline, it really healthy and beautiful thing for me because there’s so much that you forget and you just, I’m somebody who gets really excited about what’s in front of me and then I check it off and I move on to the next thing. It’s fun for me to do that, but there’s a lot that gets lost in the blur of all of the busyness, and but there’s a lot to be celebrated and a lot to be remembered. So, it’s actually really beautiful and really gratifying, and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to share those things.”

The exhibit runs through June 7th, 2020, and in support of the exhibition, she will participate in a conversation at the CMHOF Saturday (July 6th).

  • MADDIE & TAE ARE FRIENDS WHO WORK TOGETHER AND PLAY TOGETHER.

Maddie & Tae recently wrapped the first leg of Carrie Underwood’s Cry Pretty Tour 360, and they’re taking a little time off to re-energize and relax. The ladies are not spending time apart, however. The two will vacation together, along with their significant others (Maddie is engaged to Jonah Font, while Tae has been dating hit songwriter Josh Kerr).

“Our summer plans are going to Cabo together very soon,” says Maddie. “Yes, we are celebrating so many things – the tour, my birthday (July 7th) – and we’re getting our hunky men out and we’re doing a couple’s retreat. Wait, is that the movie? Couple’s Retreat? (TAE: “Oh my God!”) Let’s get a crazy yoga instructor. (TAE: “Yeah.”) The boys will freak out. It’ll be awesome. Omigosh. We’ll video it all.”

The duo doesn’t plan on a full itinerary while they’re in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, but they will spend time relaxing and working on their tans.

“I think just turning our brain(s) off. I sometimes think whenever you’re performing in this crazy world that we live in, it’s just hectic and you’re traveling, and just staying put in one place for a week or so and just getting to turn off the brain completely. And then I feel like we’re going to be so creatively, just like, rejuvenated after that,” says Maddie.

Tae agrees, adding, “I’m going to get a real tan, so I can stop putting a fake one on.”

The ladies, who are currently making their way up the country charts with their latest song “Die From a Broken Heart,” have a handful of fairs and festivals on the books before they rejoin Carrie and Runaway June for the second leg of the Cry Pretty Tour 360 September 10th in San Diego.

  • MICKEY GUYTON BARES SOUL WITH NEW MUSIC.

Mickey Guyton has been on a soul-searching journey the last few years focusing on her songwriting.  “Sister,” co-written by Mickey, Nathan Spicer and Victoria Banks is the first song from this period of introspection and inspiration.  Produced by Forest Glen Whitehead (Kelsea Ballerina), “Sister” is an anthem for female support and solidarity.

“Sisterhood is truly what gets me through every day,” explains Mickey.  “I have two sisters but anyone who knows me, knows I call all the women in my life sister.  I wrote this song during a time when I challenged myself to write more honestly, be more open about my feelings, and reflect on how I’ve been uplifted by so many women in my life.  ‘Sister’ is about my love relationship with all my sisters, and how we lean on each other through highs and lows.”

Mickey is currently in the studio with Forest working on more new music.  In April her song “Hold On” which she co-wrote with Karen Kosowski and Victoria Banks is featured the major motion picture BREAKTHROUGH starring Chrissy Metz (This Is Us).  The poignant and uplifting song was written and recorded in less than 24 hours after Mickey received a summary of a scene in the film.  At this year’s ACM Awards, Mickey performed alongside Metz, Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina and Maddie & Tae, the song “I’m Standing With You” also from the BREAKTHROUGH movie soundtrack.

Mickey has been featured on CBS This Morning, ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today Show.  She has also been spotlighted in PEOPLE, Entertainment Weekly, NPR, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Rolling Stone & Billboard.

Mickey Guyton (Sister) 1 OC: …my sisters. :56
“I really wanted to write a song about my sisters, and if anybody knows me, I call people my sister. I have two sisters of my own, and anytime I talk to someone, like you’re my sister. I wanted to write something that really happens. The words are, ‘Sister, I’ve got your back on a long drunk stumble home.’ I can’t tell you how many times my girlfriends, or even my sisters have picked up the phone needing me at like two o’clock in the morning and vice versa for me. I go over there, pick them up, help them, whatever it is. And I just felt like it was so important to show women relationships – sisterhood – because it is truly what gets us through every day. We have our own romantic relationships, but there is nothing like your sisters; there’s nothing like your relationship with your girlfriends. There’s just nothing like it. This song really is just about that – it’s my love relationship with my sisters.”
