• JON PARDI TOPS THE COUNTRY CHARTS WITH ‘HEAD OVER BOOTS.’

    image002

Jon Pardi lands his first No. 1 radio single on both the Billboard and MediaBase country airplay charts with “Head Over Boots.” Additionally, the smash hit is the No. 1 most-Shazamed country song of the year so far and has tallied more than 100 million streams across all platforms. Written by Pardi and Luke Laird, the RIAA-certified GOLD “Head Over Boots” is the lead single off Pardi’s recently released, critically-acclaimed, No. 1-debuting album, California Sunrise.

As evident in this “Head Over Boots” live video, fans across the country gravitate towards Pardi’s authenticity, working-man relatability, and ready-to-cut-loose spirit.

“We’ve come a long way,” shares Pardi. “To have the support of country radio and everyone at Capitol Records, it’s amazing! I’m thankful and excited for what’s next.”

Leading into the weekend, Pardi headlined “Buck’s Birthday Bash” at the world-renowned Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, Calif. Friday night (Aug. 12) where he was presented by the Palace and local country station KUZZ with a Red, White and Blue special limited edition Buck Owens signature guitar. As a fellow Californian, Owens was one of Pardi’s most significant country music influences. The first time Pardi played the Palace was sadly after the passing of Owens, but longtime Palace talent buyer Jerry Hufford affirmed, “I wish Buck were here to see this kid. He’d love him.”

“The Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace is like the Grand Ole Opry of California,” explains Pardi. “People don’t always know how big of a star Buck was, but you get to the Palace and see the pictures on the wall of him with Dean Martin, with Ray Charles, with The Beatles – this guy was huge in his day and his impact on country music was huge. This guitar represents California and I’m proud to help make people aware of Buck’s legacy.”

Pardi stands among impressive company as recipients of these rare guitars include superstars Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and Garth Brooks.  Fittingly, Pardi named the newest addition to his guitar collection “Buck.” “Buck” joins “Waylon,” “Loretta,” “Hollywood” and “Sunset” as Pardi stamps his name in country music history.

In addition to upcoming shows in Fla.; Ill.; Va. and N.C., Pardi hits the road next month on the Me and My Kind Tour with Kip Moore.

  • DIERKS BENTLEY READIES BLACK VINYL RELEASE.

Dierks Bentley will release his latest album, Black, on vinyl on Friday (August 12th). Before the night’s Somewhere on a Beach Tour stop, he’ll visit Vintage Vinyl in St. Louis for an intimate in-store performance to celebrate the release with fans.

“When we created this album, I kept imagining the flow of this record being told with an ‘A’ side and ‘B’ side,” Dierks says in a press release. “We’ve released vinyl before, but I’ve never had the chance to really master it properly and didn’t really put the time in before that it deserved. With Black, every little detail has mattered to me…Sterling Sound in New York really gave the mix a warmth that you don’t hear on MP3 or CD, and I can’t wait for fans to hear the whole album this way.”

In May, Dierks went by New York City’s Sterling Sound as the album began its first pressing. Get a behind-the-scenes look with American Songwriter here: http://bit.ly/2at5iQD

Dierks is currently making his way up the country charts with the second single from Black, “Different for Girls,” featuring Elle King. The album, which bowed at the top of both Billboard’s Album Chart and the Country Album Chart, also features the No. 1 single, “Somewhere on a Beach.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley says the song “Black” kicked off the entire theme of his new album.

Dierks Bentley (Black) OC: …it all out. :28
“I wrote the song ‘Black.’ I loved the song and it had this kind of relationship, sexy thing going on. My wife’s maiden name is Black, and so it has these layers to it. Our 10th anniversary has come and gone, so it kind of sparked an idea of a relationship-type record. I think she heard the song and she really liked it, and then as the album started growing, it became less of just about her and more just about this journey in general – this guy going through these ebbs and flows in different relationships and trying to figure it all out.”

  • DAVID NAIL’S ‘FIGHTER’ VIDEO SERIES.

David Nail recently released his new album, Fighter, and the title was inspired by his wife, Catherine, who has stuck with him through the ups and downs he’s gone through the past several years, struggles with infertility and the birth of their two children. He also was thinking of his grandmother who worked and “fought” hard her entire life.

With the release, David found other “fighters” for an inspirational video series showing how they’ve overcome extreme obstacles and adversity and come out on the other side. You can check out all of the touching videos right here.

  • ERIC CHURCH ANNOUNCES HIS HOLDIN’ MY OWN TOUR, FORGOING ANY OPENING ACTS.

With the camera lens so close it was reflected in his signature aviators, Eric Church spoke directly to his fans just minutes before taking the stage for his first of two solo shows at the majestic Red Rocks Amphitheater alerting the thousands watching via Facebook Live as well as the sold-out crowd of his plans to tour in 2017. He revealed that his North American 60+ city run, the aptly titled Holdin’ My Own Tour, will officially launch on January 13th, 2017 at Lincoln, Nebraska’s Pinnacle Bank Arena and include stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, and will conclude with two nights at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in May.  For the first time ever, there will be no support act on this tour. Eric Church and the ECB will play two full sets with an intermission in between. In an effort to ensure his core fans get great tickets at face value, Church is revamping the pre-sale and on-sale process to eliminate scalpers from the equation.

“In this era where growing inequality seems to be the norm, we wanted to do everything within our power to put the advantage back in the hands of true fans rather than those that take advantage of the system, and by extension our people,” said John Peets, Church’s manager. “It was important to us to invest time into evaluating and redesigning the ticket buying process and build the technology to level the playing field.”

Church and his team have developed a new fan club pre-sale system that will allow them to remove scalpers from the pre-sale process before it even happens. Church Choir members will pre-register for the fan club pre-sale prior to it starting. Once verified, fan club members will receive buy links via text message when the pre-sale starts. Scalpers that are found to be gaming the system and posing as real fans won’t receive the buy link at all.

Church has secured a larger allotment of fan club tickets than in the past so Church Choir members will have much better success buying tickets in the pre-sale.  The Church Choir pre-sale will be the ONLY pre-sale. There will be no venue, credit card or radio pre-sales.

As on past tours, Church will continue to cancel any and all orders found to be made by scalpers. New for the Holdin’ My Own Tour, Church commissioned a proprietary technology that scrubs ticket purchases using up to 10 different data points and automatically flags orders made by scalpers.  Orders may be cancelled at any time and without warning.  Church cautions fans to stay away from the secondary market because it’s likely that tickets found there will be invalid by the time the show happens.

Finally, delivery of all ticket orders will be delayed until the days leading up to each show.  Church hopes that this will make it impossible for scalpers to complete their transactions.

By doing this – investing time and energy to create a more efficient and balanced model – the Church team is not only communicating directly to the fans the best source for face value tickets, but also building a model that protects consumers and can be adopted by the industry as a whole.

“The way this album came together mandated we release it as a surprise, straight to our fans, as it was important for me to deliver the music the same way the creativity hit me—directly and swiftly. What I didn’t anticipate is that it left me scratching my head a little as this year was supposed to be spent writing.”  Church continues, “What this year’s open schedule did afford us was time to think through the way the fans experience our music live, and it was important to us that we find a way to stick to these same principles when it came to approaching our shows, down to the way they go on sale.”

Pre-sale registrations for his Holdin’ My Own Tour began tonight, Aug. 9, and will run through 11:59 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Pre-sale purchase links and unique codes will be sent directly via text message to pre-registered standard and premium fan club members, affording them a three-day window to purchase tickets to the Holdin’ My Own Tour. This fan club pre-sale begins at 11 a.m. CT on Friday, Sept. 9 and ends on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 11:59 p.m. CT.

Church’s announcement comes on the heels of his single, “Record Year,” from his album Mr. Misunderstood, hitting No. 1 August 1st and in the middle of his two-night, sold-out stint at Red Rocks, one of his few 2016 performances.

Church’s 2014-2015’s The Outsiders World Tour topped Billboard‘s Hot Tours consistently after Church set new attendance records in five markets including Chicago’s Allstate Arena on March 20 with 18,626 present. Church also shattered Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena attendance on January 10 with an unprecedented 18,411 fans assembled, surpassingThe Blue Collar Comedy Tour’s record set on Feb. 2006. On April 7, 2015 he also broke the attendance record at Grand Forks, N.D.’s Ralph Engelstad Arena, which was previously set by Sir Elton John’s 2012 show. The Outsiders World Tour saw Church performing to over 800,000 fans in more than 65 cities with nearly 20 stops from September 2014 through September of ‘15 and was named one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s Must-See Tours.

Audio / Eric Church says it's important that the fans get tickets to his shows first, not the scalpers.

    Download

Eric Church (ticket scalpers) OC: …important to me. :39
“As everybody knows, I’ve always been very adamant against scalpers. I feel like the people that should end up with the tickets, the best tickets, the best seats are the fans, are the ones that’ve been there since the beginning, and they shouldn’t have to pay five-times face value to get the ticket. And we’ll be able to, again, keep scalpers as best we can, at bay. They have better technology and they have a lot of will to get these tickets, and it’s difficult, it’s a difficult challenge. But we’re doing everything we can to make sure the fans that ends up near the stage with us, which is what we want. So, there’s going to be a number of things we do, but it’s very, very important to me.”

  • THE BAND PERRY HAS A ‘FOREVER’ ANTHEM FOR TEAM USA IN RIO.

The Band Perry’s Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry are already in Rio for this year’s Olympics. The family trio caught some of the events, including women’s gymnastics and some of the swimming competitions on Tuesday night (August 9th). In fact, they were hoping that gold medalist Michael Phelps (who has the most gold medals of any Olympic athlete) was listening to their music, especially the Team USA theme song “Live Forever,” in his headphones.

“I’m pretty sure that Michael Phelps is going to be listening to Jay-Z, but I want to pretend that he is listening to ‘Live Forever’ on those headphones,” says The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry.

“We used to grow up, obviously like most everyone in America, watching the Olympics and we’re not really that athletic, so anything that we could do to be associated with real athletes, we’re like all in,” says Reid Perry.

The band will perform Wednesday night (August 10th) at the Team USA House on Ipanema Beach, followed by a performance of “Live Forever” and their new single “Comeback Kid” the next morning on NBC’s Today Show on Thursday (August 11th).

REID: “The Team USA chose ‘Live Forever’ as their anthem, their theme song. So, we’re hoping basically they’re listening to our voices right before they either go and shoot like the bows and arrows, before they do the power walking, before they do…” KIMBERLY: “I’m pretty sure that Michael Phelps is going to be listening to Jay-Z, but I want to pretend that he is listening to ‘Live Forever’ on those headphones.” REID: “I’m sure he is. We’re actually going to go down there for part of the Olympics, so if we see him race, we’ll just start yelling it from the stands.”

I just want to be like the song in Michael Phelps’ ears when he’s getting warmed up to jump in the pool and do his thing and make us all proud.”

Audio / Hillary Scott says the new album, Love Remains, is about leaving a mark and the person she wants to be.

Hillary Scott (leaving a mark) OC: …leaving a mark. 1:20
“I have always really tried to be an open book, you know? And I think everybody can see that. Over the years of being in the public eye, and if you’re a friend in my personal life, ya know outside of work. I think for me, a lot of this record is just about wanting to say something that is real, and authentic and wanting, I feel like I’ve always tried to be truly who I am to people. It doesn’t get more ‘me’ than these songs…and a lot of it is the me I’m trying to be. It’s not the me that I necessarily am right now. It’s the me that I hope to continue to grow into and, I think now as a mother to a beautiful little girl, you think a lot about what you’re gonna leave behind. Even though, I just had a birthday, and I’m not that old [LAUGHS]…but it’s just, like what you want to teach your children, what you want them to teach their friends, and their children, and with my family on it, I think that is an even more a part of the heart of this project. I mean, this isn’t just me leaving a legacy, this is my parents leaving a legacy. And in honor of the life that they’ve lived, and the loss that they’ve had, and the dreams that they’ve had come true, all of it. It’s about leaving a mark.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE ANNOUNCED THEIR FIRST HEADLINING TOUR, KICKING OFF NEXT MONTH.

    Bro O Tour 2016

Brothers Osborne announces today its first headlining THE DIRT RICH TOUR launching this fall.  The GRAMMY-nominated duo kicks off the tour in Rosemont, IL on September 22nd and will hit almost 30 additional markets including New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Vancouver. Fans can purchase tickets beginning this Friday, August 12 at dirtrichtour.brothersosborne.com.

Known for their “distinctive sound combining classic country and hints of soul” (The Washington Post), Brothers Osborne has earned high praise for their dynamic live show while previously touring with the likes of Eric Church, Little Big Town and Miranda Lambert. Rolling Stone exclaims “The Bros come guns blazing, a guaranteed show-stopper” while The Boston Globe commends the band for “winning listeners over with its spirited live performances.” AXS adds, “the pair acted like old pros as they effortlessly showcased their solid harmonies and impressive instrumentation.”

On THE DIRT RICH TOUR, fans can expect to hear favorites from Brothers Osborne’s highly-acclaimed debut album Pawn Shop including the Gold-Certified, GRAMMY-nominated No.1 hit “Stay A Little Longer,” their current Top 30 single “21 Summer,” “Rum” and more.

“‘Dirt Rich’ is a song on the record that makes a statement about who we are and where we come from,” says John. “We felt it was an appropriate title for the tour because it really defines who we are.””
TJ adds, “We have been fortunate to be a part of some really great tours but this one is especially exciting because we’ve been building towards this for a while. We can’t wait to perform more of our material in an intimate setting with the fans out there. It’s going to be a blast.”

Brothers Osborne’s rural blue-collar upbringing infiltrates the music they make as a twang-and-crunch duo that blends equal parts country and rock into one of the freshest, most identifiable sounds to come out of Nashville in recent years. As The Village Voice states, “the duo marries their grittier sound with a more accessible, catchy melody that has taken off with country radio and critics alike.”

Joining the Maryland natives for select dates is new group LANco, comprised of five best friends Brandon Lancaster, Tripp Howell, Eric Steedly, Jared Hampton and Chandler Baldwin. LANco recently impacted country radio with their debut single “Love Live Tonight” which is featured on their four-song, self-titled EP produced by Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town). Just wrapping up an extensive festival appearance schedule this spring and summer, the five man band has previously toured with Dwight Yoakam, The Band Perry, Eli Young Band and more.

In addition, British-born singer/songwriter Lucie Silvas will join Brothers Osborne for the remaining tour dates. Silvas has sold over a million albums in Europe and toured with acts such as Little Big Town, Elton John, Chris Stapleton, James Bay, Macy Gray and Jamiroquai. She recently released the critically- acclaimed album, Letters to Ghosts, on her own imprint label through Caroline Records. Lucie co-wrote and co-produced the entire album.

“People love love songs. They’re easy to write. They’re fun. It makes everybody feel good,” says Jon. “I meet a lot of people who have ‘Head Over Boots’ as their wedding song, or they walk down to the aisle to it or ‘That was the song after I got married after we were leaving the aisle together we played ‘Head Over Boots.’’ It’s like that’s really cool.”

“Head Over Boots,” which has sold more than 560,000 copies, is from Jon’s new album, California Sunrise, which was just named one of the best country albums of the year from Rolling Stone and one of the best albums from Nashville by the Tennessean.

Jon will hit the road with Kip Moore on the Me and My Kind Tour September 30th in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
