Dierks Bentley earns his 18th No. 1 single with “Burning Man” (featuring Brothers Osborne) today as the fiery-but-reflective track tops the Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts this week. Serving as the second consecutive chart topper from Bentley’s ninth studio album THE MOUNTAIN, “his most affecting song” (Rolling Stone) inspired his 2019 BURNING MAN TOUR that will continue with shows this week in Canada, before returning stateside for the kickoff of the US leg on Thursday (1/31) in Spokane, WA.

“I’m a huge fan of those guys. They’re friends. We play in a side band together, a ‘90s country cover band called the Hot Country Knights with a K for anyone who wants to look us up,” says Dierks says of John and TJ Osborne. “So, we’re just pals, and it’s like this song feels like something that they would sing, you know? It feels like if they’d got this one before I did, they probably would’ve cut it. It was so easy. I just called ‘em up and sent the song and got a huge ‘Yes’ back from both of them right away. They came into the studio like two days later.”

Dierks continues his Burning Man Tour this week with stops in Kelowna, BC (January 28th) and Vancouver (January 29th), followed by shows in Spokane and Tacoma, Washington, as well as Eugene (Oregon) later this week. He’s joined on the trek by Jon Pardi, Tenille Townes and Hot Country Knights.

Dierks Bentley is a very, very busy man, and he’s always got something new going on in his life and career. Not only is he a singer-songwriter-entertainer, but he’s a bar owner (Whiskey Row) with several locations, a husband, father and so much more. He’s also an Executive Producer of a new Fox TV project he describes as “Cheers meets Nashville” that he hopes gets picked up by the network.

“Looking at the first script, it’s funny. You could see it being on TV. It looks like a really funny show,” says Dierks. “Nashville’s changed so much, and everyone has an idea of what Nashville is, and this kind of goes back, it’s Nashville now, but also it plays off of the Nashville that exists in people’s minds, you know, singers walking down the street with a guitar, busking and moving here to get a dream. That still happens. People move here every day with a guitar hoping to make a dream happen. You don’t see it as much ‘cause the city’s gotten so big, but it still exists. So, this kind of examines this whole side of Nashville. The bar owner, she’s been there for a long time — seen ‘em all come, seen ‘em all go. Nothing fazes her. Kind of rough on the outside, but the inside is a teddy bear; all these characters in the bar, and obviously, there’s gonna be a live music component to it. So, it felt like something that was the right time for me and I could get excited about and have the energy to get fully involved in.”

For Dierks, something really needs to grab his attention and creativity if he’s going to say yes and take time away from his family and his music.

“I think I’ve learned over the years and having kids and being busy this life comes down to a really big YES or it’s just a no. Unless something’s a really big YES, you just say no, and it just helps simplifies all of your answers,” he says. “I’ve been presented with a lot of reality TV opportunities and commercials and stuff, and through that basis of yes and no and searching for the big YES in life, I’ve been able to make those decisions pretty clearly, usually no. But this came along, and I love the idea of it. It’s kind of like Cheers TV show meets Nashville. What I saw initially was so funny, and Executive Producer is a great role for me because I don’t have to be on camera and I don’t have to go to L.A. every weekend.”

In addition, CMT’s Cody Alan reports Dierks may also be at the helm of a reality television show based on his feisty ’90s cover band, Hot Country Knights.

Dierks is poised to enter the top of the country charts with his latest hit, “Burning Man,” featuring Brothers Osborne.

The Arizona native is also headlining his current Burning Man Tour, which makes stops in Edmonton (January 24^th), Calgary (January 26^th), Kelowna (January 28^th) and Vancouver (January 29^th).

Dierks Bentley is gearing up for his Burning Man Tour 2019, which kicks off Thursday (January 17th) in Hamilton, Ontario. He’s taking pal Jon Pardi along for the ride for the third time, and Dierks recalls he was “nuts” over hearing Jon perform for the first time nearly 10 years ago.

“The first time I heard Jon I was sitting on my bus, we were playing a show out in California somewhere, kind of a random gig, and I heard this voice and I heard the band. I hear a lot of music over the course of a year on the road, and there’s just that one small thing that makes something stand out to you. I remember hearing it on my bus, through the walls of my bus, we were pretty far from the stage, and going, ‘Okay, there’s something really cool going on,’” says Dierks. “I got off the bus and went down there and watched this guy, and he was brand new. He had a steel guitar player that had a pet squirrel that lived inside his shirt. You can’t make this stuff up. I mean, it was a rogue band. It was early on, and this guy he’s out there just slaying it, slinging these words out there and playing telecaster. I was like, ‘This guy is going to be someone.’ I called my booking agent Jay Williams and said, ‘This guy’s great, man,’ and this is probably 10 years ago.”

Newcomer Tenille Townes will also be on the road with Dierks and Jon.

But so glad I have him back out for one more ride. We have so much fun together. I love his show. Going on after Jon is so ideal because he’s just so great at getting the crowd fired up. Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker and Little Big Town will take part in NBC’s Elvis All-Star Tribute airing February 17th at 9pm ET on NBC. The two-hour program, hosted by Blake Shelton, will tribute to Elvis Presley’s “’68 Comeback Special,” recreating the iconic night with musical performances, a showcase of rare footage and interviews with Priscilla Presley and Steve Binder, the director of the original special, plus a special appearance from Lisa Marie Presley.

Dierks Bentley and Jon Pardi are among the country artists celebrating the late Troy Gentry (Montgomery Gentry) at the Grand Ole Opry House on Wednesday night (January 9th). The event, C’Ya on the Flipside, will also feature performances from Blake Shelton, Rascal Flatts, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, Tracy Lawrence, Lee Brice, Craig Morgan, Darryl Worley, Chris Janson, Ray Scott and many others, including Troy’s bandmate Eddie Montgomery. The sold-out show will benefit the Troy Gentry Foundation, as well as the Opry Trust Fund, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and a handful of other charities. Troy was killed in a helicopter crash in 2017.

Travis Denning performs at Ole Red in downtown Nashville on Tuesday (January 8th) as part of the Opry Next Stage Launch Concert. Tenille Townes, Riley Green and Teagan Marie will also perform.

Kacey Musgraves is set to play this year’s Bonnaroo Festival on Saturday, June 15th. The four-day event kicks off Thursday, June 13th and runs through Sunday, June 16th in Manchester, Tennessee. Some of the other acts performing over the weekend include Maren Morris, Kacey’s husband, singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly, Post Malone, Childish Gambino, Hozier, The Lumineers and Cardi B, among others. What are some of your favorite stars doing to welcome in the New Year? A few of them are working to help fans celebrate. Several artists have taken the time off around the holidays and will hit it hard when they return to the road in January. Keith Urban is set to headline Music City on New Year’s Eve for the third consecutive year. He’ll perform at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park as part of the Jack Daniels Music City Midnight bash. Peter Frampton, Judah & the Lion, Caitlyn Smith, Devon Gilfillian and the Fisk Jubliee Singers are also on the bill. Keith will be featured on “NBC’s New Year’s Eve,” which will be hosted by Carson Daly and Chrissy Teigen. The special will air Monday, December 31st from 10-11pm ET/PT and return 11:30pm – 12:30am ET/PT.

Lauren Alaina will perform during the West Coast celebration of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019.” She joins Kane Brown, Bazzi, Kelsea Ballerini, Camila Cabello, Ciara, Halsey, Shawn Mendes, Weezer, The Chainsmokers, Foster the People, Dua Lipa, Ella Mai and Charlie Puth, as well as a performance by Macklemore with Skylar Grey. Airing just after midnight, Post Malone will perform from a stop on his current tour in Brooklyn, New York. The televised celebration takes place Monday, December 31st beginning at 8pm ET on ABC.
