  • DIERKS BENTLEY’S ‘BURNING MAN’ FEATURES TOUR MATES BROTHERS OSBORNE.

When Dierks Bentley heard the song “Burning Man,” he wanted to collaborate on the song with Brothers Osborne, who are also out on his Mountain High Tour. He felt it was a song the guys would record on their own with or without him.

I’m a huge fan of those guys. They’re friends. We play in a side band together, a ‘90s country cover band called the Hot Country Knights with a K for anyone who wants to look us up,” says Dierks. “So, we’re just pals, and it’s like this song feels like something that they would sing, you know? It feels like if they’d got this one before I did, they probably would’ve cut it. I’ve never had someone on tour with me – anyone who’s on tour with me is someone I just love. I’ve never had anyone out there that I’m not a huge fan of or I don’t totally believe in, and I’ve never had that plus also had a song we could do together out on the road that’s on an album. It was so easy. I just called ‘em up and sent the song and got a huge ‘Yes’ back from both of them right away. They came into the studio like two days later. It was just a great hang.”

“Burning Man,” as well as Dierks’ latest hit “Woman, Amen,” are included on his new album, The Mountain, due out June 8th.

Audio / Dierks Bentley talks about having Brothers Osborne’s TJ and John on the song “Burning Man” from his upcoming album, The Mountain, due June 8th.

  • MEMORIAL DAY 2018

Memorial Day, originally known as Decoration Day, originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the fallen Union soldiers of the Civil War. However, by the turn of the 20th century, Memorial Day celebrated Americans who have sacrificed their lives in all wars.

Some of your favorite country artists talk about what it means to be free because of the brave men and women willing to fight and sacrifice for our freedom.

Audio / Brandon Lay says he’s incredibly humbled by anyone who has or is serving in the military and thanks them for their dedication and service.

    Download

Brandon Lay (Memorial Day) OC: …without you. :37
“My dad was in the National Guard for six years, and his dad was in the Army and in North Africa during World War II. One of my good buddies, Dan Berry, is a captain at Fort Campbell. I’m incredibly humbled every time I’m around those guys, because it really just puts it in perspective. Memorial Day is a special time to remember and gain perspective that everything we enjoy comes with a price, and these guys have paid the ultimate price and so have their families. So, to anybody that’s served in the military, we salute you, and we couldn’t have the life we have without you.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley, whose own father was a World War II veteran, talks about the sacrifices made by U.S. servicemen and women.

    Download

Dierks (Memorial Day) OC: …upon them. :37
“On the most basic level, I think, for me on the road, I just think about being gone two, three days at a time, maybe a couple of weeks at a time, you know. That seems like a long time when you have kids and family, but these soldiers, they’re gone for months and years at a time – they’re doing 12 to 15 to 18 months — and they have family back home. That, in itself, is such a huge sacrifice, and that’s just the beginning of it. That’s just scratching the surface of what these guys [and gals] are doing every day – preparing for battle, actually being in battle, being wounded in battle, sometimes dying in battle. So, this country obviously, we would not exist without those courageous men and women, and our future depends upon them.”

Audio / Eric Church, whose grandfathers served in World War II, says the sacrifices the men and women in the military make are really touching.

    Download

Eric Church (grandfathers in WW2) OC: …touching to me. :21
“Both of my grandfathers were World War II veterans. I mean, that’s something that’s very rare. I’m not unique, you know. There’s a lot of people out there like that that their grandfathers served. The way that I was raised was very much red, white and blue and very patriotic, and I think that it’s the fact that what they give up is the real thing that’s very touching to me.”

Audio / Jordan Davis thanks the service men and women who have sacrificed to protect and defend America.

    Download

Jordan Davis (Memorial Day) OC: …gave it all. :29
“You know, both my grandparents were in the service; my cousin was also a Marine, so the military hits close to home. I mean I can’t say enough about ‘em. We live in the best country in the world, and it’s because of those guys and because of the people that came before ‘em. So, I can’t thank ‘em enough. I wish we had Memorial Day every day, but it is great to have one day to thank the men and the women that gave it all.”

Audio / Keith Urban wrote and recorded “For You” a few years ago for the film, Act of Valor, which was inspired by real life events and starred a group of active-duty Navy SEALs. After hanging out with the SEALS, he was very impressed with their commitment of service.

    Download

Keith Urban (SEALS mantra) OC: …conviction. :30
“They have a mantra, and they say ‘the only easy day was yesterday’ and they had this spirit of brotherhood and that’s a particular thing that’s the way in which, I think, it exists is very specific to the Seals. I mean, military in general have this very strong brotherhood code; it’s a particular kind of thing in the Seals. As was the testament, to Lt. Roark who is the lead guy in the film; when he was interviewed talked about funerals he had been to, and he says ‘there isn’t really any one of us who isn’t just a little bit jealous of the guy who’s died,’ and ok, I heard that, that’s a particular way of being that I cannot relate to. That is an unbelievable depth of commitment and conviction.”

Audio / Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild says they’re overwhelmed by the huge sacrifices that both the military and their families make in order to be free.

    Download

LBT (Memorial Day) OC: …whenever we can. :44
KAREN: “It’s such a huge sacrifice what these men and women do for us, not only the ones that are serving, but the families that are left here at home. Kimberly and I met a young girl…she [was] 21 years old, and she has a third baby, and her husband has served multiple times overseas. She’s raising these children at home and doing a great job and the best that she can, and he’s serving our country. He’s making a monstrous sacrifice, but so is she, and so are those children. And we just can’t take it for granted. I mean, it’s just a huge commitment that they make, and what an honor. We love to be able to sing for them and entertain them and to say thank you whenever we can.”

Audio / Sam Hunt talks about his grandfather who served during World War II.

    Download

Sam Hunt (Memorial Day) OC: …those freedoms. :40
“My granddad was in World World II. He was on the USS Texas battleship, and he was over at Normandy and over near Japan and he spent a lot of time right in the thick of World War II. He really took pride in what that meant, and it was something I got to see it first hand, as somebody who got to experience that; somebody who had that galvanized American trait. It’s hard to describe it. It was just somebody who’s been through that, seen that and really appreciates what that means. I try to channel that into my life, because I haven’t fought in any war, but I have a ton of respect for folks who have, folks who’ve sacrificed, families who’ve lost lives and just sacrificed years of their own lives and time and effort to maintain those freedoms.”

  • DIERKS BENTLEY GETS READY TO LAUNCH HIS MOUNTAIN HIGH TOUR.

Dierks Bentley kicks off his Mountain High Tour on Friday (May 18th) in Columbia, Maryland with special guests Brothers Osborne and LANCO.

Dierks is looking forward to getting on the road with his opening acts, because he wants to have fun on the road. “I just want this to be fun for me at the end of the day. I’ve got a lot of great stuff going on and I’m gonna spend the whole summer out there,” says Dierks.”It’s not about making money. It’s about my life. I want to have a great summer, have a lot of fun, make a lot of great memories, be totally present from the second we get there on-site, thinking of the fans’ experience when they first pull into a tailgate to when they leave and get home safely. So, it’s really fun, and you want to spend that summer you want to be around, and obviously it’d be nice if it was people that are having success in their career and could help sell tickets and all that. You’re always trying to find that, I say this a lot, someone said this to me early on, where one plus one equals three. You know, where a group of people come together and their sum is greater than their parts.”

The Arizona native is making his way up the country charts with “Woman, Amen” from his upcoming album, The Mountain, available June 8th.

Audio / Dierks Bentley talks about having fun on tour, especially with his opening acts.

I’ve got a 9-year-old, a 7-year-old and 4-year-old. It’s more than just, it’s not about making money. It’s about my life. I want to have a great summer, have a lot of fun, make a lot of great memories, be totally present from the second we get there on-site, thinking of the fans’ experience when they first pull into a tailgate to when they leave and get home safely. • DIERKS BENTLEY TAKES OVER THE SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK AHEAD OF HIS MOUNTAIN HIGH TOUR.

Before launching his 2018 MOUNTAIN HIGH TOUR this week, award-winning entertainer Dierks Bentley assembled his band and crew along with tour opener LANCO today at Nashville’s Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. The group helped launch the “Hunger Free Summer” campaign where they packaged over ten thousand pounds of food to supply more than 8,600 meals to families in need when school meals are not available during the summer months.

“Typically when a tour is a about to launch, you get your band and crew together for some drinks before the run, but I wanted to make sure we did something different this year,” said Bentley. “We got everyone together to really start off with what it’s all about for me right now…gratitude. The more we get to do and grow out there on the road, the more I want to make it all mean something and Second Harvest is doing great work to make a difference in our community.”

Bentley has built a reputation as both a forever-young drifter and a dedicated family man, put in millions of miles on headlining tours and taken the fearless stylistic detours of a truly authentic artist. He continues that journey with his highly anticipated ninth studio album, THE MOUNTAIN (Capitol Records Nashville), set for release June 8th. Reaching a new creative high, Bentley co-wrote 10 of the 13 new tracks that are unified by themes of presence and positivity, and range in style from textured rock to acoustic folk, feeling both rooted and expansive at the same time. After his 2017 tour claimed the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Tours selling over 750,000 tickets, Bentley will fuel arenas and amphitheaters throughout the summer with his 2018 MOUNTAIN HIGH TOUR launching this weekend in Columbia, MD (5/18), Holmdel, NJ (5/19) and Camden, NJ (5/20). • DIERKS BENTLEY WILL PERFORM HIS NINTH ALBUM THE MOUNTAIN IN ITS ENTIRETY AT A LATE NIGHT ALBUM RELEASE SHOW ON JUNE 7 AT NASHVILLE’S RYMAN AUDITORIUM.

On the eve of the release of his ninth studio album, Dierks Bentley will perform a late night album release show on Thursday, June 7th at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium with all money raised from ticket sales going to the Opry Trust Fund.

In a rare one-night-only event, Bentley will perform all thirteen tracks from THE MOUNTAIN. Bentley’s 2018 tour opener LANCO will also join the lineup. Pre-sale tickets are available Tuesday (May 15th) with a public on sale set for this Friday (May 18th) beginning at 10a CT.

“This album started as the smallest seed of an idea,” said Bentley. “It was inspired by where I am in my life right now, but also by the people I meet out on the road who triumph over hardship every day. We all share this underlying sense of gratitude and hope, which really became the base of THE MOUNTAIN, so I wanted to introduce it as a whole story for the first time with all the fans in town for CMA Music Fest. Doing it at the Ryman and to help out the Opry Trust Fund makes the night even more special.”

The Ryman is the ideal room for sharing THE MOUNTAIN’s “textures of mandolin, banjo, fiddle and flatpicked guitar,” (NPR). Touted as a sonic mix of UP ON THE RIDGE’s bluegrass soul and the modern-rock polish of BLACK, THE MOUNTAIN ranges in style from its rock essence to acoustic folk. Reaching a new creative high, Bentley co-wrote ten of the thirteen songs that are unified by themes of presence and positivity while feeling both rooted and expansive at the same time.

The Arizona native has scored 17 No. Ones and 13 GRAMMY nominations – including at least one stemming from each of his last six albums. Bentley has amassed more than one billion digital streams, countless additional nominations from theGRAMMYs, ACM, CMA and Billboard Music Awards. Audio / Dierks Bentley explains how he was inspired on his new album by spending time in Telluride, Colorado.

    Download

Dierks Bentley (album inspired by Telluride) OC: …working with. :41
“There’s something about Telluride, just being out there and the music and the festival. Usually when I’m vacation, I don’t really reach for my guitar. I’m there to recharge in a way. Here I am out in the middle of the tour – the heavy part of the tour – playing my guitar and singing and my voice is hoarse, and I just found myself like wanting to hold my guitar and play songs, which is a really weird thing for me on an off-day on the tour. There’s just something here, which I can’t put into words, but I feel like this could be a good starting place in some way. What I’m looking for is here somehow. I know that’s weird, but making albums is a hard thing to really verbalize to the people you’re working with.”

  • DIERKS BENTLEY IS ‘LIVING’ THE MOUNTAIN.

Leading up to the release of his new album, The Mountain, on June 8th, Dierks Bentley is releasing a few preview videos of some of the songs from the project. He’s released a video for “Living,” which  is the second in a four-part series in a partnership between Dierks and Apple Music to showcase real stories of resilience, persistence and hope. Check out the clip below.

Dierks, who is making his way up the country charts with “Woman, Amen,” will launch his headlining Mountain High Tour May 18th in Columbia, Maryland, and in late August will headline his inaugural Seven Peaks Festival in Colorado, which will also include sets by Miranda Lambert, Brothers Osborne and Dan + Shay, among others.
