  • GEORGE STRAIT ENJOYS A ‘COLD BEER CONVERSATION.’

George Strait is making his way up the country charts with his latest single, “Cold Beer Conversation,” the title track from his latest album. He says he was first drawn to the song because it sounded so “normal.”

“It’s got such a cool vibe to it. And it’s just a great idea, you know? The lyrics are just perfect for having a ‘Cold Beer Conversation,’ the things that you talk about with a buddy that are just normal,” says Strait. “So, that’s kind of what drew me to the song, plus the melody, I think, is killer.”

George was the first artist announced to perform select dates at the Las Vegas Arena in 2016. Check his website georgestrait.com for ticket information.

  • GEORGE STRAIT ADDS MORE SHOWS IN VEGAS.

After immediately selling out all six of his 2016 “Strait to Vegas” shows, George Strait is already looking to extend his exclusive concert series at the Las Vegas Arena into 2017, announcing today the addition of two shows slated for Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 and Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017. Tickets for the new dates will go on sale to the public Friday, Nov. 6 at 10:00 a.m. PT, with pre-sales beginning this Friday, Oct. 30 at 10:00 a.m. PT and ending Thursday, Nov. 5 at 10:00 p.m. PT while supplies last.

“I’ve missed stepping on stage and playing that first note…hearing the crowd sing in unison…there’s just nothing like it,” said Strait, who announced his return to the stage at a September press event in Las Vegas. “I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel good to know that the fans have missed me too.”

Fans and critics alike have shared effusive praise for Strait’s latest chart-topping album, Cold Beer Conversation, and current single of the same name. The New York Times proclaimed the album “finds Mr. Strait at his most pulpy and resonant” and the Associated Press calls Cold Beer Conversation “vintage Strait,” noting that the “King of Country Music” maintains “such a strong vocal presence… the highlights prove that Strait remains at the top of his game: From the casual way he captures a meaningful talk between buddies on the title cut to the melodic intimacy of ‘Let It Go’ to the jaunty swing of ‘It Takes All Kinds,’ the album adds another gem to one of country music’s deepest, most entertaining catalogs.”

Cold Beer Conversation is available now at all digital retailers and Walmart.

Strait will be among the first performers to appear at the Las Vegas Arena, which opens in April 2016. GRAMMY, CMA and ACM Award-winning singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves will join Strait as support for the 2016 dates, with support for 2017 to be announced soon. Current “Strait to Vegas” dates include:

    Friday, April 22, 2016
    Saturday, April 23, 2016
    Friday, Sept. 9, 2016
    Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016
    Friday, Dec. 2, 2016
    Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016
    Friday, Feb. 17, 2017
    Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017

With 60 No. 1 singles and nearly 70 million records sold, Strait is the most-nominated artist in CMA Awards history and was the first country music artist honored with Billboard’s “Legend Of Live” Award. His last show, which took place at AT&T Stadium on June 7, 2014, shattered the North American attendance record for an indoor concert with 104,793 ticket-holders.

  • GEORGE STRAIT PULLS UP A CHAIR TO NO. 1.

George Strait’s Cold Beer Conversation climbs to the top of the Country Album chart during its second week of release. Sold in only two places — at iTunes and Walmart – the collection is also sitting inside the Top 10 on Billboard’s overall Top 200 album chart, as well.

The new single from the project is “Cold Beer Conversation,” and George says the person he’d most like to have a cold beer conversation with his late father, John Byron Strait.

“I’d love to have a CBC with my dad, even though he never was a drinker,” George says. “I think it would have been so much fun. We had great conversations; it would be just awesome to be able to do that again.”

Strait’s new music has resonated not only with fans, but also with the “King of Country Music” himself as he prepares to launch an exclusive concert series at the Las Vegas Arena opening in April 2016. All six dates for his “Strait to Vegas” run are currently sold out, with more shows to be added to accommodate the overwhelming demand. GRAMMY, ACM and CMA Award-winning singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves will join Strait as support on all dates.

With 60 No. 1 singles and nearly 70 million records sold, Strait has more No. 1 songs than any other artist and is third only to Elvis Presley and The Beatles with the most Gold and Platinum albums in history. He is the most-nominated artist in CMA Awards history and was the first country music artist honored with Billboard’s “Legend Of Live” Award.

Cold Beer Conversation is available now at Apple Music and Walmart. For more information on “Strait to Vegas” dates and more, visit www.GeorgeStrait.com and www.StraitToVegas.com.

George Strait (CBC with Dad) OC: …would pick. :18
“I’d like to have a couple conversations with my dad again, that would be huge. I miss that part. If I had to pick somebody to have a CBC… I’d love to have a CBC with my dad, even though he never was a drinker! I think it would have been so much fun. We had great conversations; it would be just awesome to be able to do that again. So, that’s who I would pick.”

  • GEORGE STRAIT’S ‘STRAIT TO VEGAS’ DATES ARE SOLD OUT!

Fans were ecstatic when George Strait announced that he would be heading to Sin City for an exclusive concert series at the Las Vegas Arena in 2016 and releasing his new album, Cold Beer Conversation, last week. The demand for new music from Strait translated to an immediate sellout of all six dates of his “Strait to Vegas” run after tickets went on sale today, with more dates to be added. The staggering response from fans already prompted Strait to add two shows to the series, which is currently scheduled for April 22, April 23, September 9, September 10, December 2 and December 3, 2016. GRAMMY, ACM and CMA Award-winning singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves will join him as support for the full run.

With the release of the 13-track Cold Beer Conversation, fans and critics alike have made it known that the “King of Country Music” remains at the top of his game. The Plain Dealer proclaims that “the hardest part about reviewing George Strait’s surprise new album, Cold Beer Conversation, is deciding which of the 13 tracks to gush over first” and describes the instantly relatable title cut, which is also the lead single at country radio now, as “a great little ditty about ‘a couple of ol’ boys’ just sharing a few brews, reminiscing about high school football, worrying about aging parents and trying to figure out the world.”

The Associated Press notes, “Cold Beer Conversation is vintage Strait. He has such a strong vocal presence… the highlights prove that Strait remains at the top of his game: From the casual way he captures a meaningful talk between buddies on the title cut to the melodic intimacy of ‘Let It Go’ to the jaunty swing of ‘It Takes All Kinds,’ the album adds another gem to one of country music’s deepest, most entertaining catalogs” and Billboardechoes that reverence, observing that “the key to Strait’s success is that he brings a different flavor and nuance to each song, even if the subject matter is similar. More than 30 years since his MCA Nashville debut (he’s still on the same label after all these decades), his smooth tenor is as clear as ever and each subtlety — a well-placed chuckle, a tiny sigh — still resonates.”

Cold Beer Conversation is available now at Apple Music and Walmart.

  • GEORGE STRAIT’S ‘COLD BEER CONVERSATION’ IS A PERFECT FIT.

George Strait’s Cold Beer Conversation has a very cool and descriptive title, which hit the Texas native right away, so he decided to call this new collection…Cold Beer Conversation after one of the songs on his brand new album.

“What a perfect title. I never go in to the studio with a title in mind. I always complete the project and then go ‘What am I gonna call this?’ Because you kinda gotta get a feel for that. So, I’m trying to think of something that really says what this album’s about, and it just jumped out at me. ‘Cold Beer Conversations,’” says George. “How many cold beer conversations have you had? That song was perfect for me — about life or about politics or just different things that come up when you’re having a cold beer with one or your buddies or several. I just love the title, I think it fits perfectly.”

George announces the new CD in Las Vegas just a couple of days prior to its release last week, and he also revealed a few shows at the new Las Vegas Arena in 2016. The superstar will play Sin City December 2nd and 3rd, 2016, as well as April 22nd and 23rd and September 9th and 10th, 2016. He’ll be one of the first entertainers to perform at the Las Vegas Arena.

Go someplace, play a couple of dates, go home, schedule another one down the road in a few months. Come back, bam bam. I can get that itch out of me that I really need ‘cause I miss performing. I miss it a lot. It’s been a year and two or three months since I’ve performed live with my band as far as doing a show, and when that comes around it’ll have been almost 2 years, so I’m looking forward to getting back out there and knocking the dust off and pulling my chair back up to that table. I’m ready.”

“I said all along, you know, I wasn’t going to tour anymore, but I also said that I wasn’t retiring by any means and I still wanted to do some dates. So, after we did the last show at the AT&T Center in Dallas, we worked really hard getting the live album out and the CMT special and those kind of things. And then I went in the studio and cut a new record, and I had some time to write with my son and some other writers, Dean and Keith, and so it hasn’t been all just time off.  I’ve been working a little bit here and there and I’m really, really proud of this new album that’s coming out, Cold Beer Conversation.”
