• DARIUS RUCKER HOPES FOR A GREAT GAME FOR THE SUPER BOWL; HE’S GOING TO PLAY IN A BOWL OF HIS OWN–THE MADDEN BOWL.

As we all know, Darius Rucker is a HUGE football fan. His favorite team, the Miami Dolphins did a great job this year, but they weren’t able to make it to the Big Game this year (maybe next year). He says he’s not sure who’s going to take home a Super Bowl ring, but he hopes for a great game.

“The Dolphins had a great year,” says Darius. “There was a minute that I thought we were going to the Super Bowl and it was very disappointing when we didn’t make it, but it’s gonna be another great year. The Chiefs and the 49ers are gonna be a great game. The funny thing is I don’t know who I think is going to win right now. The Chiefs have so much experience and have been there four out of the last six years and have done great things, but the 9ers are playing such great football also, so I don’t know who’s gonna win, but I hope for a great game.”

Darius is also in Las Vegas to play in the Madden NFL Bowl on Friday (February 9th) along with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. He’ll also perform a late night set for NFL executives and participants, along with Green Day, Big Boi, BRELAND and Killer Mike.

He says his strategy “is to play man-to-man defense and try to run the ball a little to try to slow the game down. You know, a lot of guys come on and just throw it around and that’s a great way to play, but I like to run it a little bit, see what happens and then maybe you can break something big. But I love Madden. It’s one of my favorite things. I’ve been playing since Madden 1, so it’s great to be playing the Madden Bowl again.”

Darius is set to return to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry on March 12th before he heads overseas for his European tour, which kicks off April 19th in Germany, followed by dates in Switzerland, Amsterdamn (Netherlands), the U.K. and Ireland.

Audio / Darius Rucker isn't sure who is going to win the Super Bowl on Sunday, but he hopes for a great game between the Chiefs and the 49ers.

  • KACEY MUSGRAVES NEW ALBUM DEEPER WELL OUT MARCH 15, 2024.

Seven-time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves returns with her fifth studio album Deeper Well, Out March 15th via Interscope/MCA Nashville, pre order the album HERE.  Musgraves co-produced Deeper Well with longtime collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk.  Inspired by the energy of New York City’s Greenwich Village and its rich musical history, Musgraves recorded a good portion of the new album at the legendary Electric Lady studios.  “I was seeking some different environmental energy, and Electric Lady has the best mojo.  Great ghosts,” noted Musgraves.  With her keen observations of the world and discerning eye for the subtle nuances of life, Musgraves’ lyrics serve as a lens focusing on moments of life that often go unnoticed, turning them into timeless songs that strike a chord deep within listeners.  Saturn returns, cardinals embody a dead friend, love is given and taken, streets rush by, belongings are packed and old chapters deserted, new love blooms, jade bracelets serve as talismans, deep lessons emerge, small details define everything, the woods are a refuge and New York City serves as the same gleaming beacon as Oz.  While most of the 14 tracks are penned by Musgraves with Fitchuk and Tashian, she is also reunited with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne for beautifully contemplative track “The Architect” (see full track listing below).

Title track “Deeper Well is out now, with a companion video directed by Hannah Lux Davis (Kacey Musgraves, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj). Listen to “Deeper Well” HERE On the bright, almost folky title track, Kacey surveys her life and priorities.  Recognizing what feeds her, what drains her and examining what’s left behind on the way to empowerment.  “Sometimes you reach a crossroads. Winds change direction.  What you once felt drawn to doesn’t hold the same allure,” Musgraves went on to say, “you get blown off course but eventually find your footing and forage for new inspiration, new insight and deeper love somewhere else.”

Deeper Well is the follow up to Musgraves’ 2021 album star-crossed, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Albums Sales chart and earned wide critical praise.  star-crossed is the follow up to Musgraves’ groundbreaking 2018 album Golden Hour, which earned Kacey her third #1 debut on Billboard’s Top Country Album chart and distinguished her as only the third artist ever to take home Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Awards and Academy of Country Music Awards.  In 2023 Musgraves achieved her first #1 entry on the Hot 100 chart for “I Remember Everything,” a duet with Zach Bryan.  “I Remember Everything” is the first country music duet in 40 years since Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ “Islands in the Stream” (1983) to reach this feat.  “I Remember Everything” just won the Grammy Award for Best Country Song by a Duo or Group at the 66th annual ceremony held earlier this week. This latest win makes Musgraves the only artist in history to receive a Grammy Award for Best Country Album, Best Country Song, Best Country Solo performance and Best Country Duo or Group performance.

Billy Currington (football fan) OC: …love football. :36
“I’m a big football fan. I mean, when I was growing up, if you asked me who my favorite team is now, I couldn’t tell you. But when I was a kid, it was the Dallas Cowboys. And I don’t know if it was because my mom bought my brother a Pittsburgh Steelers pennant, for some reason, and bought me a Dallas Cowboys pennant, and of course over the year I fell in love with the Cowboys, and then I wanted a jersey the next Christmas, and then the next one, I wanted [more Cowboys stuff]. So, I became a long-term fan with those guys. But I like it all now that I’m older. I’ll watch any game; it doesn’t matter who’s playing. But [I] love football.”

Carrie Underwood (loves being a part of SNF) OC: …my whole life. :54
“I love being the voice of Sunday Night Football because I grew up watching football…from birth. I’m from Oklahoma – we’re a football state. It’s just a part of the country that everybody has their teams and there’s such an energy about it. We would drive down to Dallas and watch the Cowboys play whenever we could. There’s just something about being at a live sporting event or watching it on TV. You have your favorites. They have their rivals. There’s an excitement to it that really, it’s unlike anything else, so being a small part of that is absolutely amazing. It’s been so wonderful working with everybody at SNF, and I count myself very lucky and very blessed that I get to be a small part of something that I’ve loved my whole life.”

I love college football, but for me watching pro football is better because the speed is so much more. For me, there’s two times a year, man — football season and waiting for football season.”

Any dad out there that has daughters knows what I’m talking about. She has made football much easier to watch at my house. Everybody’s down with it now, so I’ve been able to watch a lot of playoff games with my family, which is amazing. I’m not out there in the garage. I’m allowed to be in the main part of the house watching football, and it’s so fun. As far as the Super Bowl goes, I have no idea who’s going to win, but I’m there for the whole thing. I’m there for the pre-show concerts, the introductions, our National Anthem, the half-time show and of course, the game. It’s going to be awesome. I have no idea who’s going to win, but I just hope Taylor Swift makes her flight from Japan back to the game, because that’s what we all want to see. That’s going to be the most followed flight. It’ll be followed more than the Santa Tracker.”

Going to the Georgia Dome was a pretty big deal, and we got to play there in high school and stuff, and it’s sad to see that it’s gone, but Mercedes Benz is a pretty cool place too.”

(Phillip: “I like Mahomes though.”) But I’m excited because I think it’s gonna be a great game. They match up very interestingly, and I think it’s gonna be fun to watch. I don’t think anybody’s gonna stop Mahomes, though. Shew. The 49er defense, they are for real.” PHILLIP: “If you can pick apart the 49er defense, you can win this game.”

I was running the ball and I came around the corner – this was in high school – and a foreign exchange student, I think her name was Inga (KIMBERLY: “Inga.”), and I didn’t want to fumble ‘cause my brother and my dad were there, and I come from this very athletic family, so I held onto the ball. I knew I was going to go down, so I let my head hit first and I bit all the way through, but I didn’t fumble and I had a hole in my face, though. The sad thing is that it was just flag football, but I left my flags on and cleats and everything, ‘cause it looked cool, and I had blood running all down my jersey. I went to the emergency room like that, and they sewed up my lip.”

I wish the (Tennessee) Titans were in it, but we’ll see what happens.”

Little did I know, I had no idea 50 years I’d be singing (laughs) the National Anthem at this year’s Super Bowl. Omigosh. As the Singing McEntires and being a part of the Kiowa High School Cowboy Band in Kiowa, Oklahoma where I went to school for 12 years, we were part of the half-time entertainment there at the school. We’d pull the trailer out and we’d play at half-time for our football games, and then my boyfriend, Rex Linn, absolutely loves college football. I really get into that, and I cheer for the Longhorns in Austin, Texas. And now getting to sing at the Super Bowl, I think Rex was more excited than I was, if that’s at all possible. I’m a huge, a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, so I will be cheering them on at the Super Bowl.”

Okay, if y’all don’t know what I’m talking about, get online and get the Not That Fancy book. It’s pretty cool, lots of pictures and what it’s supposed to look like when you get through making it. It encompasses just a strong representation of American culture, and I’m a huge music fan, obviously, and I’m a huge sports fan, so those are two of my favorite worlds combined there.”

And I got to spend some time with Peyton and Eli, and they have another brother [Cooper]. I’ve followed [Peyton’s] career for a long time,” he says. “Actually, a couple of years ago, I was at a concert of Kenny Chesney’s in Denver, and I was standing there side stage and Jake Owen was there. He had opened up for [Kenny], and I’ve been a friend of his for a little while, and he turned and introduced me to the guy behind us, who I wasn’t aware of at the time, but it turned out to be Peyton Manning. He was just a really nice guy, and it was just pretty cool to be on the stage with two people who inspired me in two different arenas, with Peyton with football and Kenny with music.”

Travis Denning (National Anthem) OC: …your life. :27
“The National Anthem, I think, is one of the hardest songs to sing that we sing regularly in this country. It’s essentially two very full octave ranges and every note matters. It has to be powerful. It takes an amazing singer to sing it. And the other thing that’s hard about is if you sing it great, everybody goes ‘that was cool,’ and then they forget about it two minutes later, and if you mess it up, they remember it for the rest of your life.”

  • DIERKS BENTLEY CAN FINALLY WATCH FOOTBALL INSIDE THE HOUSE, THANKS TO TAYLOR SWIFT.

Dierks Bentley has really enjoyed watching NFL games this season for a variety of reasons, but mostly because he gets to spend time in the house watching the games because of Taylor Swift, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs TE, Travis Kelce. Following Friday’s announcement about the arrival of her genre-bending record due April 19th, Wilson will captivate her hometown crowd by performing REBEL top to bottom. A co-writer on each of the album’s 16 tracks, the Ky. native teamed up with some of Music Row’s most in-demand songwriters for a revolutionary project firmly rooted in both Country and Christian music, produced by Jeff Pardo and Jonathan Smith.

“I cannot wait to share these new songs with you live from my hometown,” shares Wilson. “To be releasing an album I’m so proud of is a dream in itself, but to perform it from top to bottom from the Lexington Opera House — where I spent 11 years doing ballet with the Lexington Ballet Company — will be such a full circle moment. This venue holds so many cherished memories for me, and I can’t wait to make another one with you all!”

Wilson showcases her “Kentucky twang and country-leaning songcraft sensibilities” (Billboard) with her new release “God & Country.” Highlighting both sides of Wilson as an artist and the faith-infused Country that defines REBEL, her commanding vocals lead the way as she revists the Kentucky roots that shaped her identity. From church pews and Sunday morning choirs, to mud tires and Friday night lights, Wilson shares what it’s like to grow up in the heart of the heartland, boldly declaring “I’ve got a good life down here, but a better one waiting up above me.”

The 21-year-old songstress has been making waves with her current Country radio single, “Rain In The Rearview,” co-written with Matthew West, Jaren Johnston and Zach Kale. The transformative music video for the track exclusively debuted on CMT/Paramount Times Square billboards, CMT, CMT Music and CMT.com on Jan. 26 just days after Wilson was revealed as a member of the coveted 2024 CMT Next Women of Country class. Meanwhile, “Strong” continues to stand firm at Christian radio – reaching the Top 15 at Billboard Christian Airplay and Mediabase Audience charts and climbing each week – marking two simultaneous radio singles for the “specifically gifted” (The Tennessean) artist.

Ever since embarking on her new journey in September with REBEL (The Beginning), praise has poured in for the groundbreaking new venture. MusicRow underscores her vocal prowess stating “she’s got the goods” while Billboard highlights her “ceiling-scraping vocal capabilities” and Holler proclaims it “clearly outlines Wilson’s new Country-leaning mission statement.”

Adding to her list of accolades, Wilson was also tapped as one of Spotify’s Hot Country Artists to Watch 2024, further solidifying her rising status from Music Mayhem, Pandora and more. Wilson will continue to share her new music on the road as she captivates cities nationwide as direct support on Scotty McCreery’s Cab In A Solo Tour. Come summer, Wilson will grace the stages of both Country and Christian music’s most sought after festivals such as Tortuga Festival, Big As Texas Fest, Country Concert, Alive Music Festival and Kingdom Bound. • REBA McENTIRE IS A HUGE FOOTBALL FAN, AND THE APPRECIATON FOR THE SPORT STARTED EARLY.

Reba McEntire is a huge football fan, and the megastar has had an appreciation for the sport ever since she was in high school performing with her sisters and brother during the games.

“I’ve always liked football, even in high school,” says Reba. “As the Singing McEntires and being a part of the Kiowa High School Cowboy Band in Kiowa, Oklahoma where I went to school for 12 years, we were part of the half-time entertainment there at the school. We’d pull the trailer out and we’d play at half-time for our football games.”

The Country Music Hall of Famer says her boyfriend is really big into watching college football and could be even more excited than she is at performing the National Anthem at this year’s Super Bowl. “My boyfriend, (actor) Rex Linn, absolutely loves college football,” she says. “I really get into that, and I cheer for the Longhorns in Austin, Texas. And now getting to sing at the Super Bowl, I think Rex was more excited than I was, if that’s at all possible. I’m a huge, a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, so I will be cheering them on at the Super Bowl.”

This year’s Super Bowl will take place at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday (February 11th) and will air on CBS and stream live on Paramount+. Kickoff is set for 6:30pm ET/5:30pm CT.

Reba is set to return as a coach for Season 25 of NBC’s The Voice, which is set to premiere February 26th. Coach John Legend returns with Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay (replacing Gwen Stefani and Niall Horan).
