PM-WKM-About The Song (AUDIO): “I was just making stuff up and wrote a song. And then, you know, typically when I do that, some very genuine thoughts and feelings will come out in the words that I’m just kind of freestylin’ and spitting out. And that’s kind of how I ended up with, forget the man that I am, what kind of man do you need? And kind of ran with that. And, you know, it’s every now and then I get lucky and I felt like I got lucky on this one and was able to have a song that felt fun, but wasn’t cheesy or cliche. That’s a tough thing for me to accomplish. So I really kind of fell in love with the song and was excited to cut it. And it’s pretty, it’s pretty honest. I mean, it’s pretty true. You know, Hallie Ray was that for me. She was, I was never going to get married, never going to have kids. And then I met her and, you know, it completely changed my mind on all of that. So I don’t think if, if I had not met her, I think I, I don’t think I ever would have done the deal. And so the song is kind of a unintentional way of explaining that.”

“Could not be more excited to share this new music with the world, especially this new single “What Kinda Man.” Lately, I’ve been coming back to this sound and the roots of where I started out. I think this new song is my way of revisiting that and creating something that feels like home to me and my fans. I hope the world loves it.” –Parker McCollum
