• JON PARDI SET TO RELEASE HIS HOLIDAY ALBUM, MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM JON PARDI, ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27TH.

Jon Pardi has released his first-ever holiday album, Merry Christmas From Jon Pardi. Produced by the award-winning team—Pardi, Bart Butler and Ryan Gore–the 12-track project brings Pardi’s style to classics including “Please Come Home for Christmas” and “All I Want for Christmas is You,” some surprises like “Swing on Down to Texas,” “A Long December,” and “I’ve Been Bad, Santa” with Pillbox Patti, plus Pardi introduces original tunes “Beer for Santa,” “400 Horsepower Sleigh,” “Merry Christmas from the Keys” and more.

Jon recorded his new holiday album in February, and he advises other artists to do the same. “We recorded Merry Christmas From Jon Pardi in February, so it wasn’t too far out from Christmas. So, it was still cold out, and the Christmas ornaments were freshly put away. So, like to dig ‘em out, it wasn’t like a big deal. Everything we knew was right there because we just put it back,” says Jon. “So, we dug it out and it was great, and I highly suggest doing it then ‘cause you still have a coat on. I know it sounds kind of, hmmm, it sounds out of normal ‘cause he’s wearing a coat, but a lot of standards are recorded in the (studio) in July. Do you know how hot it is in July in Nashville? The last thing you want to think about is Christmas in July. So, if any artist is listening or anybody making a Christmas record, do it in January or February. It’s such a better feeling, ‘cause it’s cold and Christmas is not that far in the past.”

“One of my favorite Christmas songs of all time is ‘Blue Christmas’ by Elvis, because Elvis’ Christmas record is one of my favorite Christmas records AND ‘Blue Christmas’ has been recorded so much, that’s why I didn’t record it. A lot of people were like, ‘Why didn’t you record ‘Blue Christmas?’ You love ‘Blue Christmas.’ I was like, ‘Well, everybody records ‘Blue Christmas.’ I was trying to make a new Christmas record that’s a little fresh, so that’s why I didn’t record ‘Blue Christmas.’ But it is literally one of my favorites. It reminds me of my grandmother around Christmastime.”

  • BRYCE LEATHERWOOD RELEASES FIRST SONG SINCE WINNING SEASON 22 OF “THE VOICE.”

Country newcomer and Season 22 winner of NBC’s “The Voice,” Bryce Leatherwood released his first song today since signing his major label record deal. The track, “The Finger,” was written by Randy Montana, Jeremy Spillman and Brett Sheroky and was produced by Will Bundy.

LISTEN TO “THE FINGER” | HERE

“As I’ve spent time in Nashville doing a lot of writing, I’ve also had the opportunity to hear a lot of great songs that have been written by other writers. The second I heard this song it caught my ear. ‘The Finger’ was a song I wish I’d written,” said Leatherwood. “What got me about this song is that I think everyone can relate to having a relationship go wrong and you wish it didn’t. All she left giving you is one of these [the finger]. You have to make a joke out of it! This song is me, and I hope that country music fans everywhere see where I’m coming from. Thanks to everyone who has been waiting for me to release music.”

“The winner of NBC’s The Voice steps into country music with a clever, twanging lament. “My ex moved on with her next…she got the ring and I got the finger.” The track is loud and rocking, but his singing is firmly in control. Worth your spins.” – Music Row

    Lyrics “The Finger”

Word gets around and ’round here quick

I heard it in the Quik Stop line

Well, Billy told me she was tyin’ the knot

While he was ringin’ up my Busch Lite

I bought this case to last a couple days

But I might drink ‘em all tonight

‘Cause my brand-new ex moved on to the next

Guess I just got left behind

Yeah, he got her hand to hold on the long ride

I got a cloud of dust and the taillights

He’s got his best days comin’, mine ain’t comin’ back

Yeah, he got the gold mine, I got the shaft

He got a “Yes” with a big ol’ “I do”

I got them hand grenades and horseshoes

He got the honey and I got the stinger

She got the ring and I got the finger

I bet her uncle walks her down the aisle

I bet her brother does some bridesmaids flirtin’

But if they send me a save the date

I ain’t gonna be the only one hurtin’

Yeah, he got her hand to hold on the long ride

I got a cloud of dust and the taillights

He’s got his best days comin’, mine ain’t comin’ back

Yeah, he got the gold mine, I got the shaft

He got a “Yes” with a big ol’ “I do”

I got them hand grenades and horseshoes

He got the honey and I got the stinger

She got the ring and I got the finger

    Yeah, I got the finger

He got her hand to hold on the long ride

I got a cloud of dust and the taillights

His best days are comin’, mine ain’t comin’ back

He got the gold mine, I got the shaft

He got a “Yes” with a big ol’ “I do”

I got them hand grenades and horseshoes

He got the honey and I got the stinger

She got a diamond on the one next to the one I got

    When I got the finger

She got the ring and I got the finger

    About Bryce Leatherwood:
Singer/songwriter Bryce Leatherwood aims to carry the torch of country music and continue the legacy of legends prior. Born and raised in Woodstock, GA, his passion for music began at an early age. Working on his grandfather’s farm every summer, Leatherwood was exposed to the classic country hits of George Jones, Merle Haggard and Conway Twitty. Soon thereafter he began picking up guitars and playing the traditional country music that inspires him today. Leatherwood’s music career began to blossom in Statesboro, GA, where he attended Georgia Southern University. During his time in Statesboro, Leatherwood played college venues and continued to grow his stage presence and his country music repertoire. While in college, Leatherwood formed his band and began playing all around the Southeast. Bryce’s goal was to take the stage and play the best of country music to all ages and audiences. Just weeks after graduating college, Bryce set his mind on a new task. In 2022, Leatherwood competed on the NBC hit television show The Voice and was crowned the Season 22 winner in December. Following his success on The Voice, Leatherwood moved to Nashville where he has been songwriting and recording for a forthcoming project. Leatherwood has also continued to perform live shows, including opening several tour dates for Dwight Yoakum.

This song is my first song to country music, and I’m so excited to start on the right foot, and to give y’all a little peek at my personal life. Thank y’all so much and I’m so excited to share this song with y’all.”

Audio / Prior to being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, Jon Pardi talked about his favorite memories from performing at the Opry.

Jon Pardi (Grand Ole Opry induction) 1 OC: …I would say. 1:07
“I remember seeing Charlie Daniels for the first time backstage. He played the Opry quite a bit and him talking. He was he was always one of the guys that would always say hello and the Blue Grassers, man, those guys are my favorite because they’re always in the dressing rooms like just jamming, and Ricky Skaggs and his band. And there’s just a lot of musical memories, more than just artists itself, there’s like everybody’s getting pumped up, and it’s more in a way more than a dressing room. I said the Grand Ole Opry is like if you look at green room in a movie, that’s what an Opry backstage is. There’s people practicing. They’re actually getting ready. They’re talking about what songs, like everybody’s hyped up a part of the show. The Opry always has that dream to it backstage. But for me the memory is the music and walking the hallways and hearing other band members, and seeing Dierks (Bentley), you know, just his band’s always jamming bluegrass you know, so I just love the music. The power of remembering practicing the music ready to get on stage, the anticipation is very more real here at the Opry than anywhere else, I would say.”

Audio / Prior to his Grand Ole Opry induction, Jon Pardi talked to the media about what he'll do for new artists playing the Grand Ole Opry for the first time.

    Download

Jon Pardi (Grand Ole Opry induction) OC: …I’m changing. :38
“Being the guy with the dressing room door open, that’s how you help new artists that come through and play the Opry for the first time, and you kind of get that experience like I did when I was long -haired Jon, ‘Like, Oh man, that’s Dierks Bentley jamming with his bluegrass band…’ And then you go up and you’re approachable and you answer questions. And I feel like the Opry goes back to the movie green room where you’re like, ‘Man, it’s like, there’s Charlie Daniels. Hey, Charlie, how you doing?’ ‘How you doing, man?’ So, it’s just little things like that that I think that’s a good way to kind of talk about new artists to the Grand Opry is the dressing room door open…just not while I’m changing.”
