• TYLER HUBBARD DROPS NEW VIDEO FOR “EVERYBODY NEEDS A BAR.”

Tyler Hubbard released a new music video today for the song “Everybody Needs A Bar,” off his six-song project Dancin’ In the Country. Earlier this week, Hubbard also began his first tour as a solo artist on Keith Urban’s “THE SPEED OF NOW WORLD TOUR.”  Hubbard joined Urban in Mountainview, CA for his first show, and he gave the audience his classic high-energy, electric performance style, playing a set of his new music, which is definitely striking a chord with fans.  Hubbard will be in San Diego tonight and tomorrow he will perform at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

“Everybody Needs a Bar,” co-written by Hubbard, Jordan Schmidt and Zachary Kale, offers up the idea that everyone needs a place where they can go to relax, meet friends, hear music or fall in love – a place that is welcoming no matter who you are.

Filmed in Nashville, Tennessee, “Everybody Needs A Bar” features the house of a local art director, who in years past worked with Tyler on previous videos and wanted to help with this video. The homeowner built the bar himself, spending several days turning his garage into a bar.  “Everybody Needs A Bar” features actors and talent from the Nashville and Atlanta areas and many of them had actually been on set with Hubbard earlier in the day filming another video (“Baby Gets Her Lovin’,” out next month).  Hubbard had so much fun working with the group that he invited them all to stay for the next video shoot, which happened to be “Everybody Needs A Bar.”

“Making the video for ‘Everybody Needs A Bar’ was an amazing experience,” says Hubbard.  “Everybody should have a place – their own version of a bar – to go where they feel a sense of welcoming and belonging.  I think we were able to create that vibe in this video.  And having all these actors with me for two videos made the process incredibly fun and I think in its own way told the story of the song.”

Tyler Hubbard’s first six-song project, Dancin’ In The Country, debuted with over 10,000 SPS units (sales plus streaming) making it the second best-selling country EP debut of the year. Dancin’ In The Country also debuted at No.1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, No. 6 on the Current Country Albums sales chart, and No. 107 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Billboard says of the debut collection, “The singer-songwriter has offered a promising collection of six tracks on Dancin’ In The Country, which make good use of his pliable voice and storytelling panache by supporting them with full-bodied production.” Hubbard’s first single as a solo artist, “5 Foot 9,” already has 117M total global streams and currently sits at No. 8 at country radio. Hubbard’s debut solo album will be released on January 27, 2023.

  • MERCURY NASHVILLE RECORDING ARTIST BOY NAMED BANJO RELEASES NEW SONG “HEART IN MOTION.”

The Mercury Nashville band, Boy Named Banjo, releases its latest track today, “Heart in Motion.” The track is the follow-up to last year’s debut major label EP, Circles.  Written by band member Barton Davies, Jon Sherwood and Oscar Charles, “Heart in Motion” is produced by Oscar Charles. The Nashville born and raised quintet includes Davies, Ford Garrard, Sam McCullough, Willard Logan and William Reames.

Boy Named Banjo’s music is a fusion of country sound, and notes American Songwriter, the band “continues to push their sonic bounds.” The new track, “Heart in Motion” was written right after the world shut down for Covid, when the band’s first west coast headlining tour was canceled, and they had to travel 34 hours by van back to Nashville on what was the craziest journey ever taken by the group.  The entire time, the guys were just wishing they could be home with their loved ones to weather out the storm together.  As soon as they got back home to Nashville, the melody and opening line of the chorus, “cause your smile’s about as wide as Texas,” popped into Barton Davies’ head and the next day the song was born with co-writers Jon Sherwood and Oscar Charles.  They channeled the feeling of longing for home and put it to the backdrop of the Texas landscape.

“If there’s a single song that embodies our sound, it’s “Heart in Motion.” It combines a lot of elements that we feel are unique to Boy Named Banjo,” says Barton Davies. “The country storytelling, anthemic choruses, three-part harmonies, soaring vocals, and banjo lines all came together on this one. We wanted this song to gradually build in intensity, as we felt the music needed to match the lyrical movement of the song. Lyrically, it’s a different kind of traveling song, where love is the driving force. Its message hits home for all of us – when we’re out on the road, it’s our loved ones back home that inspire us to keep moving.”

  • CMA AWARDS “BEST NEW ARTIST” NOMINEE PARKER MCCOLLUM MAKES AUSTIN CITY LIMIT DEBUT.

Parker McCollum is one of Country music’s hottest new acts and ever since bursting onto the scene in 2020, has accomplished a laundry list of both professional and personal bucket-list experiences – including making his Grand Ole Opry debut, breaking records at the iconic Texas venue Whitewater Amphitheater where he sold out a three-night engagement, and performed for a sold-out crowd at his RODEOHOUSTON debut. On September 7th, McCollum added another honor to his already impressive resume by making his debut at Austin City Limits, where he performed to a packed house, continuing to solidify himself as one of Country music’s next generation of superstars.

“I always wondered if we had what it took to be great – to make the big times,” says McCollum. “Constantly asking myself if all the miles traveled, empty bars played, late nights loading out would be worth it. Those questions were answered when we stepped on stage at Austin City Limits. We do have what it takes and It was absolutely worth it!”

Recently, Parker was announced as a nominee for the 2022 CMA Awards for “Best New Artist.” This recognition is yet another spotlight on McCollum following his first nominations at this year’s ACM Awards (“Best New Artist of the Year”) and CMT Award (“Breakthrough Video of the Year”).

Since exploding onto the Country music scene in 2020 with his critically acclaimed and top-selling debut Country EP of the year, Hollywood Gold EP, McCollum has achieved two #1 singles (the Double-Platinum selling, “Pretty Heart,” and its follow-up single, “To Be Loved By You”). His current single, “Handle on You,” is currently impacting Country radio.

  • CATIE OFFERMAN MAKES GRAND OLE OPRY DEBUT.

Photo credit: © Grand Ole Opry, photo by Chris Hollo

    Catie Offerman
made her Grand Ole Opry debut this past weekend (9/2).  Sporting a gold glittery gown and a Texas-sized smile, Offerman stepped into the historic circle at the Grand Ole Opry to perform for the first time.  Offerman, showed off her talent as a multi-instrumentalist by playing her fiddle and guitar on her songs “Happyland Trailer Park” and “Don’t Do It In Texas.”

“I just got finished playing my Opry debut and honestly, I can’t believe it’s over because I feel like I’ve prepared for this my whole life, and it was over just like that. It’s just so surreal to be part of this country music family, something that I’ve dreamed about for years, and I even talked to my grandparents about.  And here I am, I did it and I can’t wait to do it again!” says Offerman. “It is so special to have my family here, they came all the way from Texas, 15 hours in the car with their chihuahuas, just to be here. It’s just really sweet because it’s a long haul and it was amazing knowing that they were out there supporting me, though they’ve supported me my whole life.  Whether it’s been me playing in smokey bars in Austin or God knows where in Texas, pizza restaurants, polka gigs, all the way to the Opry they’ve been there for me.  So, this is really special to share this moment with them.”

    About Catie Offerman
Catie Offerman may be a new name to country music fans, but she’s already gaining a reputation as one of the genre’s most skilled players and promising modern traditionalists and Nashville’s music community is responding. Originally from New Braunfels, Texas, Offerman grew up on a horse ranch. Home schooled by her father in the tack room of their barn, she gravitated towards music at a young age. Offerman started playing piano at the age of four which eventually led her to pursue other instruments such as violin, accordion and more. When she was 11, Offerman’s accordion teacher asked her to join their polka band where they traveled across Texas performing.  Offerman graduated from Berklee College of Music at the age of 19 and signed her publishing deal with Universal Music Group Publishing about five years later. Offerman was featured in The Highwomen’s “Redesigning Women” video, inked her record deal with Universal Music Group in 2020 and was named one of “The Boot’s” 2021 Artists to Watch.

Jordan Davis (Buy Dirt success is special) OC: …more special. :13
“It just means a lot more. I wrote it with my brother (Jacob) and two my best friends (Josh and Matt Jenkins) in town and just the content of it. It comes from a really, really honest place. So, when you have songs that mean that much and you get to see them have success like ‘Buy Dirt’ is having, it’s a little bit more special.”

  • JON PARDI RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM, MR. SATURDAY NIGHT; PREMIERES “MR. SATURDAY NIGHT” MUSIC VIDEO TODAY.

Jon Pardi has released his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Mr. Saturday Night, out everywhere today. The album features Pardi’s current #1 single, “Last Night Lonely,” which topped both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase Country charts this week, marking Pardi’s fifth #1 hit at Country radio. Pardi shares an inside look at the creative process and the type of songs that make up Mr. Saturday Night here. With 14 tracks steeped in losing, a little loving and what’s in between, Pardi digs beneath the surface on Mr. Saturday Night, returning the genre to an era of buckle-polishing dancefloor encounters, yowling bar-room revelers, and the occasional strong, silent type ballad.

Pardi will unveil the official music video for the album’s title track today at 12 p.m. CT on YouTube. Fans can sign up now for YouTube Premium for exclusive access to his livestream party following the premiere of his “Mr. Saturday Night” (Official Music Video) by visiting JonPardi.lnk.to/MrSatNightYT. Out of the gate, the track has been praised by Billboard for Pardi’s “signature neo-traditional country” and “clever play on words,” while CMT claims it’s a “quintessential honky-tonk standard.”

Celebrating the album’s release and his recent chart-topping song, Pardi will bring “Last Night Lonely” to CBS Mornings on Wednesday, Sept. 7th in the 8 a.m. hour. He will join the show’s anchors for a live chat about Mr. Saturday Night, as well as a performance on their special one-year anniversary show. Pardi recently kicked off his album release with an appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (8/9). Check out the high energy performance here.

Mr. Saturday Night reunites producers Bart Butler, Ryan Gore and Pardi: the same team behind the boards of his critically acclaimed third studio album, Heartache Medication. Nominated for Album of the Year by both the CMA and ACM, Heartache Medication debuted among the top tier of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and was named one of Rolling Stone’s best albums of 2019. The Los Angeles Times also ranked the album as one of its best of the year, where Pardi was the only country artist/album represented.

A “hero in the making” (Variety), Pardi is noted for his “long-lasting mark on the genre” (Music Row) and his impressive ability to carve out his own path proving “the kind of country music multiple generations came to know, and love can still work on a mass scale” (Variety). Filled with fiddle, twang and steel guitar, Pardi continues to “apply new ideas to country’s old sounds” (Los Angeles Times) and “bring authenticity back into Country music” (People). Pardi is currently headlining arenas and amphitheaters across the country with his AIN’T ALWAYS THE COWBOY TOUR, which extends through his October 1st headlining date in Nashville at Ascend Amphitheater. Jon Pardi (titling Mr. Saturday Night) OC: …fourth record. :23
“’Mr. Saturday Night’ is about a guy, he has a great time wherever he goes, but behind the curtain, he’s sad. He misses his girl, and I don’t know. He said he messed it up, so I don’t know if she’s coming back, but he tries to have the best time, to make the best of it and it goes along by titling it Mr. Saturday Night, because we’ve got a lot of feel-good songs and a lot of great, all kinds of feels on this fourth record.”
