  • BROTHERS OSBORNE HEAD ACROSS THE POND FOR THE FIRST HEADLINING TOUR IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.

Brothers Osborne’s TJ and John Osborne are headed across the pond for their first headlining UK tour. They kick it off Friday (May 4th) in Dublin, Ireland, followed by shows in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol and London and are set to wrap May 13th in Glasgow.

The duo has become one of the UK’s favorite country acts to see live, and the guys couldn’t be more thrilled to head back overseas.

“We’re excited to get over for our first headline tour in the UK. We’ve been over there several times, and we’ve really been itching at getting back over there, and it’s close to being all sold-out and hopefully by the time we get there, it’ll be a completely sold-out tour,” says TJ. “And the fans, man, the fans. The only thing I can imagine what it was like was playing music in the United States in the ‘70s. They don’t really, they’re kind of just listening to music they think is good. They don’t really care what you call it, if it’s country, if it’s rock or it’s blues. They just like it or don’t, and they will show up if they think it’s authentic.”

For John, who is one of the best guitar pickers in Nashville and beyond, the UK is also home to many legendary guitarists. “The UK is home to some of the most legendary guitarists of all time. If Eric Clapton is from where you’re from, then you should be known that’s clearly a guitar area,” he says. “A lot of guys I listened to growing up are from the UK, so they have a huge love for that…It took Jimi Hendrix, he had to go to the UK for the world to understand what he was about. So, we’re stoked. We can’t wait to go back.”

When John and TJ return to the States, they only have a couple of days at home before they head out on tour with Dierks Bentley on his Mountain High Tour, kicking off May 18th in Columbia, Maryland.

The reigning ACM and CMA Vocal Duo of the Year are making their way up the country charts with “Shoot Me Straight,” from their new sophomore album, Port Saint Joe.

A lot of guys I listened to growing up are from the UK, so they have a huge love for that. So, for two guitar pickers like us…” TJ: “Or Keith Richards. Oh my God. The list goes on.” JOHN: “It took Jimi Hendrix, he had to go to the UK for the world to understand what he was about. So, we’re stoked. We can’t wait to go back.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE’S ‘SHOOT ME STRAIGHT’ WAS RECORDED LIVE IN FRONT OF A BUNCH OF FRIENDS.

Brothers Osborne recorded much of their new album, Port Saint Joe, in a beach house in Florida, and one of the songs they tracked — “Shoot Me Straight” — was recorded live in front of a bunch of friends who came down to hang out.

“We had just been on the road for months. We had taken a bus from a gig to Port Saint Joe and unloaded our gear off of it, so we were kind of in the mindset of playing like a band and that’s what [producer Jay Joyce] wanted to capture,” says John Osborne. “And ‘Shoot Me Straight’ literally is just us jamming in a room. We had tracked that song a few different times over the two-week course of staying there, and one of the last nights we were there we had some friends all come down from Nashville and we just set up in the room. It was late at night. We had all been drinking and partying a little bit, and he wanted us to get in front of like our friends and jam, and that was the take. He wouldn’t let us fix anything. I’m glad that he didn’t because music these days it’s so perfect. I mean you can go back and fix everything all you want until the cows come home, but this record is a snapshot of just what happened. The four minutes in time — this is what happened and that’s it. And some of our favorite music listening to is that. It’s just a live moment that was captured in time and you can’t really recreate that.”

The reigning ACM and CMA Duo of the Year will perform Saturday (April 28th) at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, before heading overseas to tour the UK.

JOHN: “Most of the record was recorded live. If you listen to the record intently, you will hear mistakes and the solo on ‘Shoot Me Straight,’ there are notes that I’m going for and I miss and Jay was adamant about leaving them because we captured a live moment. We had just been on the road for months. We had taken a bus from a gig to Port Saint Joe and unloaded our gear off of it so we were kind of in the mindset of playing like a band and that’s what he wanted to capture. • BROTHERS OSBORNE’S NEW ALBUM, PORT SAINT JOE, IS AVAILABLE NOW.

Brothers Osborne release their highly anticipated sophomore album, Port Saint Joe, today. In support of the album release, John and TJ Osborne will perform their current Top 40 single “Shoot Me Straight” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert April 23rd.

The GRAMMY-nominated duo co-wrote all 10 tracks on Port Saint Joe which was produced by Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town).

Fans can watch a special Facebook Live performance of several Port Saint Joe tracks from Terrapin Care Station in Denver, Colorado starting at 11am CT HERE. Afterwards, Brothers Osborne will host a Reddit AMA “Ask Me Anything” at 12pm CT.

“After years of writing, traveling, playing and evolving we’re finally releasing new music,” says John Osborne. “This music, tracked in a beach house in Florida, is a sonic representation of the road we’ve been traveling.”

TJ adds, “in the making of Port Saint Joe, we weren’t trying to be anything or anyone that wasn’t truly us. Imperfections and all.”

Critics continue to praise the new record with Rolling Stone calling it “a superlative new album…cementing their status as a band essential to the vitality of today’s country music.” The New York Times notes it’s “an invigoratingly footloose follow up” and The Tennessean says it’s “raw, direct, guitar-driven songs delivered with an intensity that leaves no room for doubt: Brothers Osborne is as authentic as it gets.”

The singer/songwriter siblings recently took home two trophies at the 53rd Annual ACM Awards and maintained their reign as “Vocal Duo of the Year” in addition to winning “Video of the Year” for their rowdy Top 10 hit “It Ain’t My Fault”.

Brothers Osborne are set to perform next Saturday, April 28 at Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California. The Maryland natives will then embark on their first headlining UK tour starting May 4 in Dublin, Ireland with additional stops in Belfast, London, Manchester, Glasgow and more.

Brothers Osborne (recording in a house) OC: (JOHN) …the right move. 1:10
JOHN: “The studio wasn’t a studio. It was a house. I mean the place was not in any way, shape or form built for recording, which made it even cooler. That was the best part about it so we just set up in the living room. The drums set up near the fireplace. The ceiling was kind of vaulted so we got some pretty cool room sounds. And the kitchen was all there in one spot and Jay had his brother come down and he was cooking food for us. So, literally as we were tracking drums, guitar, bass, we’re all in this room together.” TJ: “It’s the kitchen, living room and dining room were in one big communal room.” JOHN: “Yeah. And they were flipping burgers. If you solo some tracks, you can actually hear him cooking, like spoons banging and pots banging on the stove. So, it was cool. We were over there jamming and we look over and he’s just like over there playing air guitar and making food. This is not how you’re supposed to do it. We were in Nashville where there’s like a $1 million studio everywhere you look. It’s the mecca for recording, and we decided to scrap that whole thing and just go down to a beach house that is not meant for recording at all and just have fun. I think it was the right move.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE HIT THE SUNSHINE STATE TO RECORD THEIR NEW ALBUM, PORT SAINT JOE.

Brothers Osborne release their sophomore album, Port Saint Joe, on Friday. The pair went down to Florida and holed up in a beach house to record songs for the collection, and they were so affected by their time down there making music, they decided to title the album after Port Saint Joe, Florida.

Their producer, Jay Joyce, first suggested getting out of Nashville and on the beach to record songs for their new album.

“I think it started off as Jay kind of brought it up one time. We were meeting about doing the record and he said, ‘Man, it would be cool to get out of Nashville. I’ve got a beach house that we can go to and just kind of shack up in.’ I think partly it started because he just wanted to get out himself. He had been in his own studio for so long that I think everyone just kind of needed a change of scene,” says TJ Osborne. “We were in this house that was not made for recording at all, which was kind of part of the charm. There was a lot of bleed and none of the doors had any foam or any isolation to them. It was really, really cool. It kind of felt like when you are playing music at home and you just love that jamming. You’re just sitting on your couch playing music, and I felt like that’s kind of what we captured.”

This isn’t the first time John Osborne has been to Port Saint Joe, Florida. “I went to Port Saint Joe years ago to play. It was after one of the hurricanes or the BP oil spill or something like that. It was BP oil spill,” recalls John. “That’s what it was. And the government gave a huge grant to this town that was affected by the oil spill and they used some of the money for a concert series and the band that actually played in Port Saint Joe. They set up a small stage and I thought it was really cool. I never thought I would go back to that place. I really enjoyed it. It was a nice little snapshot in time. And then I kind of forgot about it and then when we went down to Port Saint Joe to record our record I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is that place where we played that one random show where they don’t have concerts.’ It’s a really, really cool town.”

Their latest single, “Shoot Me Straight,” is the first release from Port Saint Joe.

John and TJ picked up TWO ACM Awards for Vocal Duo of the Year and Video of the Year for “It Ain’t My Fault.”

He had been in his own studio for so long that I think everyone just kind of needed a change of scene. And it kind of started off almost like a joke that turned into within a couple of days we were like why don’t we do that. It would be nice for us as well, and I thought it helped the creative process to get out of the bubble of Nashville. And fast forward a couple of months we’re loading up a U-Haul truck and taking it down to his beach house. It made no sense other than it being an awesome place to record. There was just sand everywhere. It got all in his beer, and we were in this house that was not made for recording at all, which was kind of part of the charm. There was a lot of bleed and none of the doors had any foam or any isolation to them. It was really, really cool.
