• BROTHERS OSBORNE ANNOUNCE THE TITLE AND RELEASE DATE OF THEIR NEW ALBUM, PORT SAINT JOE.

As announced this morning by The Associated Press, EMI Nashville’s Brothers Osborne will release their sophomore album Port Saint Joe April 20. The two-time CMA “Vocal Duo of the Year” just released their new single “Shoot Me Straight” off the project which was produced by Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town). John and TJ Osborne co-wrote every track on Port Saint Joe along with frequent collaborators Lee Thomas Miller, Kendall Marvel, Barry Dean, Shane McAnally, Troy Verges and more.  The title, Port Saint Joe, reflects the small town on the Florida coast where the real-life siblings recorded the album.

Port Saint Joe is a sonic representation of who we’ve become not only as a band but as people,” says John Osborne. “Every show we’ve ever played together is on this record. Every song we’ve ever written and every mile we’ve ever ridden has led to the making of this record. Imperfections and all.”

TJ adds, “we shacked up for two weeks to make an unabashed record that would reflect who we are in every way, and in the process we had the most enjoyable and memorable recording experience of our lives.”

JOHN: “We went down to Florida to Jay Joyce’s beach house, who also produces Lanco, as well. It wasn’t even a studio. We were like, ‘We’ll just figure it out.’ We set up mics and we set up a desk. And Jay Joyce had his brother in the kitchen literally that was attached to where we were playing in the living room so you could solo some tracks and hear pots and pans clanging. So, that’s how we did it…to get away from the distractions allows you to focus in a more creative way.”

  • ERIC CHURCH AND BROTHERS OSBORNE, ALONG WITH MAREN MORRIS, WILL HONOR THE VICTIMS OF THE ROUTE 91 HARVEST FESTIVAL DURING A SPECIAL GRAMMY PERFORMANCE.

In addition to honoring musical excellence, the Recording Academy® will also take a moment to honor the victims lost to gun violence and terrorism at various live music events over the course of the past year. In a special GRAMMY® tribute performed by three of the artists who participated in the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, current GRAMMY nominees Brothers Osborne, past GRAMMY nominee Eric Church, and GRAMMY winner and current nominee Maren Morris will come together for the touching segment.

“Live music events have always provided a safe space for fans to gather in a shared celebration of music. Sadly, that wasn’t always the case this past year,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the Recording Academy. “We believe it’s incredibly important to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in these senseless tragedies and to remind musicians and music lovers alike that live music will continue to be a powerful force that unites us all.”

“In many ways, our show encapsulates the year in music,” said Ken Ehrlich, executive producer of the GRAMMY Awards. Although that usually means a focus on achievement and excellence, sadly, last year was marred by a number of senseless tragedies that took place at live music events. We didn’t feel like we’d be doing our jobs if we didn’t reflect on these tremendous losses.”

Performing for the first time on the GRAMMY stage, Brothers Osborne are nominated again this year in Best Country Duo/Group Performance (“It Ain’t My Fault”).

GRAMMY Award winner Maren Morris is currently nominated for Best Country Solo Performance (“I Could Use A Love Song”).

Previously announced GRAMMY performers include Little Big Town, Alessia Cara, Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, Childish Gambino, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, Elton John, Kesha, Khalid, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Logic, Patti LuPone, Bruno Mars, P!nk, Ben Platt, Sam Smith, SZA and U2.

The 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in New York City January 28th at 7:30pm ET on CBS. Previously announced GRAMMY performers include Alessia Cara, Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, Childish Gambino, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, Elton John, Kesha, Khalid, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Little Big Town, Logic, Patti LuPone, Bruno Mars, P!nk, Ben Platt, Sam Smith, SZA, and U2.

Eric Church (fans are Vegas fans) OC: …came out. :44
“Talking about the year, a lot of people have asked ‘Why did Vegas bother you so much?’ I mean, it bothered all of us, but why maybe I took it more personal was because the same people that had been there all year, 20, 30 songs with their arms around each other’s shoulders that had became family to me, were the people that were affected that night. I think there was a part of me that went away that night too. And I think how I respond to that as a writer, [I’m] not sure yet. I’m working on it, and I may already have, I mean, that’s really what ‘Why Not Me’ was my, at least some way for me to process it and heal, maybe offer something for other people, but I did that as much for myself as anything else. I didn’t try to say ‘Hey, let me write a song.’ It just happened. It came out.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE RELEASE NEW SINGLE, ‘SHOOT ME STRAIGHT,’ GOING FOR ADDS JANUARY 16TH.

EMI Nashville’s Brothers Osborne releases “Shoot Me Straight” as the first track off their highly-anticipated sophomore album today, listen HERE. The two-time CMA “Vocal Duo of the Year” again teamed up with producer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town) for the new album set to release later this year. Recorded at Jay’s house in a remote part of the Florida coast, Brothers Osborne again delivers a tune highlighting why “they won over Nashville critics with a distinctive sound combining classic country and hints of soul, with songs centered on John’s impressive guitar skills and TJ’s rich baritone” (The Washington Post). John and TJ Osborne co-wrote the tune, which goes for ADDs at country radio January 16th, with Lee Thomas Miller.

“Brothers Osborne has the coolest, sexiest song of the year.”
    – Phathead, JVC Broadcasting

“In typical Brothers’ fashion, it stands out for its combination of gritty guitar and vocals and that ever-present bass drum beat that hits you right in the gut. It answers the demand for an up-tempo winter title from a duo with a proven fan base.”
    – JC Coffey, PD WTHT

Brothers Osborne recently received their third GRAMMY nomination in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for their Top 10 rowdy hit “It Ain’t My Fault.” This nomination joins their previously nominated performances for their No.1 Platinum smash hit “Stay A Little Longer” as well as the nostalgic “21 Summer”. All three tracks are featured on their critically-acclaimed debut album Pawn Shop which was recently certified Gold by the RIAA.

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE RELEASE NEW SINGLE, ‘SHOOT ME STRAIGHT.’

Brothers Osborne are getting ready to hit the airwaves with “Shoot Me Straight,” the follow-up to their recent hit “It Ain’t My Fault.” It’s the first single from their new album, and you’ll be able to download and stream the song beginning Friday (January 5th).

While “Shoot Me Straight” is a good representation of what’s to come from the new record, the reigning CMA and ACM Duo of the Year also feels the song bridges their debut album Pawn Shop with their forthcoming collection.

“We thought this lead single off of our new record would be a really great representation of just kind of what’s to come on this new record, but also was kind of a good little second story to ‘It Ain’t My Fault,’” says TJ Osborne. The song really being about the double entendre of just the saying, ‘shoot me straight,’ ‘give it to me straight,’ but also make it burn like a shot of whiskey and shoot me straight. It’s one of the songs that kind of ties the last record into this one.”

  • NEW YEAR’S EVE 2017

What are some of your favorite stars doing to welcome in the New Year? Some of them are working to help fans celebrate. Several artists have taken the time off around the holidays and will hit it hard when they return to the road in January. Some artists have resolutions and some are very helpful with their own hangover cures for those who imbibe too much on New Year’s Eve.

Keith Urban is set to headline Music City on New Year’s Eve for the second year in a row. He’ll perform against the backdrop of the State Capitol Building as part of the Jack Daniels Music City Midnight Bash. Maren Morris, Cheap Trick, Carly Pearce, Johnny P, Larkin Poe and the Fisk Jubilee Singers are also on the bill.

Canaan Smith will perform on New Year’s Eve in Nashville as part of Team USA’s WinterFest at the Walk of Fame Park at 3:30p.

Audio / Brothers Osborne talk about how people spend the last moments of the year, and the first moments of the new year.

    Download

Brothers Osborne (New Year) OC: (TJ) …next month. :44
JOHN: “I think it’s kind of funny how we spend literally the last moment and the very first moment of every year being extremely intoxicated, extremely, because you don’t want to wait until like 12:30 to get your buzz on. You’ve got to do it before midnight, and then once midnight happens, you’re like, ‘Omigod! Now it’s time to celebrate even more.’ Debauchery is the literally bookending your entire year.” TJ: “I love how everyone starts the year off with diets and then we end the year with like excessive amounts of food. And then you get to the end of the year, you’re like, ‘Oh, I’m going to start a diet on the 1st, so I’m going to eat everything that’s in front of me.’ I love it.” JOHN: “And come February 1st, ‘what diet?’” [laughs] TJ: “What diet? I’ll start it next month.” [laughs]

Audio / John Osborne of Brothers Osborne says a little hair of the dog is definitely the cure for a hangover.

Brothers Osborne (hangover cure) OC: …of the year. :07
“Usually drinking more. I mean, a little hair of the dog never hurt anybody. Plus, it’s the first of the year.”

Audio / Canaan Smith says there’s really no cure for a hangover.

    Download

Canaan Smith (no hangover cure) OC: …long, you know? :32
“There is no hangover cure. The older I get I’m like, ‘Oh God! What am I thinking?’ It’s terrible. Hangovers are awful. Tequila’s the worst. I try to stay away from Tequila, because it hurts me bad. I used to be a whiskey guy. I still am every now and then, but of late, I’m domestic, American beer, just something light and tasty. Shots are my worst enemy. When I start working shots into the picture, that’s when I know I’m gonna hurt the next morning. I just try to keep it the same, whether it’s whiskey or beer or whatever, I just stick with that same drink the whole night long, you know?”

Audio / Dierks Bentley says there’s not really a cure for a hangover.

    Download

Dierks (NYE) OC: …for that. :10
“I think January first is universally accepted as a dog. So I mean, a little hair of the dog, I guess. But just…water and stay on the couch, I guess. There’s no real sure-fire cure for that.”

Audio / Eric Church has a couple of hangover cures for those times (especially on New Year’s Eve) when you might imbibe a little too much.

    Download

Eric Church (hangover cure) OC: …every time. :17
“The best hangover cure – I’ve got two. One is 5-hour Energy [bottles], because of all the B-vitamins that are in it. You can start pounding those, and it’s either gonna work, or it’s gonna keep you up and prolong your misery. But the other one I have is just take two Advil and a beer in the morning. Hair of the dog, man – that works every time.”

    Audio /

    Download

Jon Pardi (hangover cure) OC: …deal with it. :20
“My hangover cure is Bloody Marys, but be careful – because once you have a couple, don’t go to beer, because if you go to beer, you’re gonna start drinking again and you’ll end up a morning drunk. OR if you want to go the non-alcoholic route, there’s nothing you can do for hangovers. [laughs] You just go deal with it.”

Audio / Kacey Musgraves, who is expected to release her new album sometime in 2018, has her own hangover cure.

    Download

Kacey Musgraves (hangover cure) OC: …water. Yup! :32
“Coconut water is a major help with hangovers and also, a lot of times we go and eat Vietnamese fuh. It’s a soup, and it’s got this awesome broth. You can get different things in it or whatever, but for some reason, it’s just like…it’s almost like a chicken noodle soup kind of an idea, you know, but it’s good. That’s good for hangovers too. That, sleep, Tylenol, coconut water and just water, in general. And when you’re drinking, have your alcohol, drink a little bit of water, drink some more alcohol, drink some water. Yup!”

Audio / Keith Urban talks about the emotions he feels on New Year’s Eve.

    Download

Keith Urban (New Year’s emotions) OC: …of time. :35
“Yeah, I go for every emotion on New Year’s Eve, every emotion – regret, remorse, melancholy, joy, hope, sadness, gratitude, calm, anxiety. [laughs] There’s a lot in that night for a lot of people. I’ve always been a big, I love New Year’s…Nic’s not a big New Year’s Eve person. I love New Year’s Eve. The counting down is important to me and I find it huge, that demarcation of time.”

Audio / Kip Moore gives advice on how to avoid a hangover on New Year’s Eve.

    Download

Kip Moore (avoiding hangovers on NYE) OC: …yourself. :03
“Pace yourself on New Year’s – that’s the remedy. Pace yourself.”

Audio / Luke Bryan’s favorite New Year’s Eve has to be when he and his now wife Caroline reunited.

    Download

Luke Bryan (New Years-best) OC: …great night. :17
“My best New Year’s Eve is definitely when my wife and I started back dating. We started back dating right before Christmas, and we went on a trip down to Florida and met some friends. And her birthday is New Year’s Eve. We celebrated it that night. It was just a great night.”

Audio / Luke Bryan takes a look back at his busy 2017, including releasing his brand new album, What Makes You Country.

    Download

Luke Bryan (looking back on 2017) OC: …about it. :40
“I look back on the year, and certainly it’s been a crazy busy year, but I don’t know any other way on doing this business other than it being really, really crazy and really, really busy. I try to sit down and write music and write songs and then I’m constantly listening through what the city of Nashville and what all the wonderful songwriters there are churning out. So, yeah, listening and writing and then we go into the studio and try to make some music happen. So, we’ve been going in periodically through the year in getting this album done, and it’s finally, finally here and I’m pretty excited about it.”

  • CHRISTMAS 2017: Brothers Osborne

Brothers Osborne will host their first Christmas in Nashville this year, and their whole family, including that of John’s wife, singer-songwriter Lucie Silvas, will be in town for the holidays.

“This will be the first time ever since John and I’ve lived in Nashville that we will host Christmas here in Nashville, so our parents will be coming down. Our brothers and sisters will be coming in and our nephews and nieces and our great nephews and nieces. We’ll have the whole family here in town. It will also be the first time that John’s in-laws, Lucie Silvas’ parents, from New Zealand and our family would meet,” says TJ Osborne.

John’s wife Lucie is from New Zealand, so they usually experience a hot Christmas. “It’s interesting, a lot of them have never experienced a cold Christmas before. I went there for Christmas and New Year’s a few years ago, and it was hot. It’s like burning up hot! So, they’ll come here and experience a cold Christmas. I hope, I really, really hope that it gets cold enough and snows,” says John. “I hope it’s a white Christmas for them. I think that would be really special.”

While they’re all enjoying the down time with family, they also love the sights and sounds of Christmas.

“It stays dark so you have a lot of Christmas lights. I just love Christmas lights – they put you in such an amazing mood,” says John. “Just the sounds, like all the Christmas music and even shopping, which is quite possibly one of the most hectic things to do during the holidays. Even if we have all our shopping done, we’ll still go to the mall just because it’s so alive and vibrant and the colors and the music and the lights. I just love it. It’s a bit sensory overload, but I kinda dig that.”

John and TJ earned a nomination at the 59th annual GRAMMY awards with “Best Country Duo/Group Performance” for their song, “21 Summer.” This is their second GRAMMY nomination as they were nominated last year with their No. 1 hit “Stay a Little Longer.”

The guys received their third GRAMMY nomination in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for their Top 10 rowdy hit “It Ain’t My Fault.” This nomination joins their previously nominated performances for their No.1 Platinum smash hit “Stay A Little Longer,” as well as the nostalgic “21 Summer.”

It will also be the first time that John’s in-laws, Lucie Silvas’ parents, from New Zealand and our family would meet. They’ve been together, what, for 10 years?” JOHN: “Yeah, 10 years and they haven’t met a lot of each other, just because they live across the globe. It’s interesting, a lot of them have never experienced a cold Christmas before. I went there for Christmas and New Year’s a few years ago, and it was hot. It’s like burning up hot! So, they’ll come here and experience a cold Christmas. I hope, I really, really hope that it gets cold enough and snows. I know that…” TJ: “I think it’s supposed to be really cold.” JOHN: “Really cold, which I think is really great. [Lucie’s] brother-in-law, he’s never seen snow in his life, you know, he’s in his 30s now, and I hope that their Christmas here, I hope it’s a white Christmas for them. I think that would be really special.”

Just the sounds, like all the Christmas music and even shopping, which is quite possibly one of the most hectic things to do during the holidays. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® will kick off a nationwide campaign called “THIS SHIRT SAVES LIVES”  featuring some of the industry’s biggest names and influencers in order to create a giving movement. Nashville photographers, John Shearer and Andres Martinez, have lent their talents to the campaign, shooting many of the over 80 artist images that will be featured.

The campaign will be supported by St. Jude Country Cares radio partners to cover more than 120 markets in December. The on-air push will coincide with a social push as artists and influencers wear and share photos in THIS SHIRT on their socials.

St. Jude has long given apparel as a thank you to “Partners In Hope,” donors who give $20 per month to the hospital’s lifesaving work. THIS SHIRT SAVES LIVES T-shirt will exclusively be available to those that become Partners In Hope.

“St. Jude is an amazing organization, and whenever you see that name you trust that it’s the best of all causes,” said award-winning singer, songwriter and longtime St. Jude supporter Luke Bryan. “It’s important for me to be a part of causes that inspire people. It’s a life-changing experience to get to see St. Jude and meet the kids who are fighting for their lives.”

St. Jude will officially launch the campaign with an industry-wide reception at the Country Music Association in Nashville on Monday, December 4, 2017.

Confirmed artists include: Luke Bryan, Brothers Osborne, Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, Kip Moore, Josh Turner, Easton Corbin, Kacey Musgraves, Canaan Smith, Brandon Lay, Mickey Guyton, Brett Eldredge, Cassadee Pope, Chris Janson, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Dustin Lynch, Hunter Hayes, Jake Owen,  Kelsea Ballerini, Lee Brice,  Maren Morris, Rascal Flatts, Scotty McCreery and Thomas Rhett.

About St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
