• HALLOWEEN 2015: AJ, Billy, Brothers Osborne, Canaan, Darius, David, Easton, Eric, Jon, Lady A, Luke, Scotty

Halloween is Saturday, and the holiday has some of your favorite country stars getting into costumes, and they also recall memories of Halloweens past.

Audio / Alan Jackson used to take his daughters trick-or-treating when they were young kids, but he recalls one costume that he hated. It was an infant costume that made one of the girls look like a little peapod.

    AJ (Halloween) OC: …cute, but…[laughs] :17
“Aww, I remember some, when they were infants, they had like these little, they looked like a little pea pod, you know, or something. It’s like a little green pea or something. And I thought man, that’s awful. But Denise liked it, and I guess it was cute, but…(laughs).”

Audio / Billy Currington reminisces about his childhood Halloween memories.

    Download

Billy Currington (Halloween) OC: …Halloween. :17
“You know, when I was a kid, I loved the trick and the treat. I loved dressing up. I was always wanting to be Dracula. That was my favorite guy. But, of course, who doesn’t love going door-to-door and getting these buckets of candy? [laughs] So, love, love Halloween.”

Audio / Billy Currington (Trick or Treat)

    “Trick or Treat, baby.” [laughs]

Audio / Brothers Osborne’s John Osborne talks about carving pumpkins with their dad when they were growing up.

    Download

Brothers Osborne (carving pumpkins) OC: …or something. :25
“With our dad every year, we would go looking for pumpkins, and we would all get our own pumpkin to carve, and he would buy the biggest pumpkin that they had. It was huge. I mean, it was way too big for any one person, but he would love carving. He’s kind of an artsy guy. He was a great drawer and stuff, and he would carve the most terrifying, vicious looking, scary pumpkin you’d ever seen in your life, and it would be massive. It would be like on a 50-pound pumpkin or something.”

Audio / Brothers Osborne talk about their favorite Halloween candy...and not so favorite.

    Download

Brothers Osborne (Halloween candy) OC: (John) …go stale. [laughs] :34
TJ: “I would say,  Snickers, Baby Ruth, Kit Kat and Reese’s too.” JOHN: “I always hated those houses that would give you bad candy, though. You’re like, ‘C’mon. Step it up.’ Spend the extra dollar on a bag, you know?” TJ: “A house when we were growing up used to give out whole candy bars. It was the best. You were like, ‘That house – that’s the honey hole of candy.’” JOHN: “I love it, and I love like at the end, like three or four days after Halloween you would see what candy was left, and it was always like those crappy cheap candies, and they would just go stale.” [laughs]

Audio / Brothers Osborne’s TJ and John Osborne talk about dressing up like zombies for Halloween.

    Download

Brothers Osborne (zombie costume) OC: (John) …was so fun! :29
TJ: “Literally, you can dress up like a zombie and drag your foot behind you all day and make weird noises, and everyone finds that completely acceptable.” [laughs] JOHN: “One year I dressed up as a ‘90s redneck zombie with a mullet wig and an Alan Jackson denim coat. I never once broke character. That’s part of the thing — you can actually not break character and get away with it. And everywhere I went, even when I ordered a drink, I ordered it like a zombie that was falling apart. [laughs] It was so fun!”

Audio / Canaan Smith says his Halloweens of today have changed dramatically since he was a child.

    Download

Canaan Smith (Halloween) OC: …cornfields. :37
“I grew up in a Christian family. We went to a private Christian school for a while, so they didn’t allow us to celebrate Halloween like I do now. We did what was called a Hallelujah Party instead, and you still dress up and still get all the candy, but  you go to the high school gym. You play games, you just do, like cornhole and the dunking booth and all kinds of stuff and win prizes, but it was nothing ever scary. I think they had like rules about what outfits you could and couldn’t wear. But now I just love freaking myself out and going to, I love going to haunted houses and haunted cornfields.”

Audio / Darius Rucker loves Halloween, especially because it’s his kids’ favorite holiday.

    Download

Darius (Halloween) OC: …I’m into. :06
“Halloween’s big for me, because the kids love it. It’s my kids’ favorite holiday, so anything they’re into, I’m into.”

Audio / David Nail talks about his favorite part of Halloween.

    Download

David Nail (favorite part of Halloween) OC: …it better. :14
“My favorite thing about Halloween was just the excitement about picking out your costume and talking to your friends and fighting over if you’re going to be this or if they stole the idea from you and if you can do the idea better.”

Audio / David Nail wants to have the best candy in the neighbrhood.

    Download

David Nail (Halloween candy) OC: …neighborhood. :19
“My sister and I would always go out and hide in the trees and the bushes and scare the kids that would come up to our house, which was rare ‘cause we always had the crappiest candy ever. And when I can afford it, I’m gonna have the best dagum candy. I’m gonna blow everybody away. I’m gonna have a line. It’s gonna look like a George Strait meet-and-greet. It’ll be all the way around the neighborhood.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley talks about the Halloweens of his childhood.

    Download

Dierks Bentley (Halloween) OC: … …around home. [laughs]  :23
“Oh, when I was a kid, I was all into fireworks. Growing up in Arizona, we couldn’t get ’em, so we’d have ’em shipped in illegally. I still remember the name of the guy we’d call. His name was Joe, and he’d bring in, ship ’em in a package with no writing on ’em. We were all about M-80s in the mailboxes and bottle rocket wars. To me, as a kid, Halloween was fireworks, was blowing up stuff around home. [laughs]”

Audio / Easton Corbin has never dressed up for Halloween as an adult, but one of his favorite costumes as a kid was made by his grandmother.

    Download

Easton Corbin (Halloween) OC: …pretty warm. :26
“My grandma made a werewolf outfit for me, and I wore that one year. She got this fake hair and glued it to sweatpants and a sweatshirt. That was a hot outfit. I mean, it got pretty warm.”

Audio / Eric Church recalls his favorite Halloween costume.

    Download

Eric Church (Halloween) OC: …Franklin Street. 1:18
“My favorite Halloween costume  really came, I remember when I got a little older my first year of college, there’s this thing they do every year in Chapel Hill, North Carolina – Halloween on Franklin Street. We drove down from Boone, North Carolina. I had a bunch of friends that went to University of North Carolina, and we didn’t have costumes and didn’t realize until we were on the way that we had to have costumes. So, we stopped at a costume place in Greensboro, North Carolina. It’s Halloween, so there’s a run on everything and couldn’t find anything. And we end up getting sent around, driving  around town. We end up finding this hole in the wall place, but they had the full costume, Sesame Street outfits. The real deal. The real ones [with] feathers and fur. We were Elmo, Cookie Monster and I was Big Bird, and the Big Bird was the actual Big Bird. It’s about 7-foot-4, and yiou looked out of the body and then you had these straps that went on since the head was a lot higher. There’s a lot of beer involved in Franklin Street, so we get down there and as the night went on, my straps broke, so the head would pivot. And so, I would be walking one way and the head would be facing the other, and it just became this funny…I didn’t know the head was on backwards. I had no idea. I see out of the body, so I’m just kinda walking around and people were talking to my ass-end. [laughs] The whole time peiople’d come up and start talking and go, ‘Hey, turn around.’ And I’d turn around, and they’d go, ‘No turn around.’ It was a mess. That year, there was no other Big Bird on Franklin Street.”

Audio / Jon Pardi talks about his favorite Halloween costumes as a child.

    Download

Jon Pardi (Halloween) 1 OC: …the Superman. :15
“Man, I went through phases of costumes – the Superman costume, then it was a ninja, then I was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle one year. I remember rockin’ the Superman.”

Audio / Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley reveals one costume he’s always wanted to wear on Halloween.

    Download

Lady A (Charles costume) OC: …an apple. :19
CHARLES: “I want to be a banana. I think there’s something so funny and understated about a banana, especially when you’re 6’6” and like your little head’s popping through and you’re a banana.” DAVE: “Do they make ‘em your size?” CHARLES: “I’ve been known to sew a thing or two.” HILLARY: “That’s really random.” CHARLES: “I know. I’ve always wanted to dress up like something, just kind of funny like a banana or an apple.”

Audio / Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood recalls one of his most embarrassing Halloween costumes.

    Download

Lady A (Dave Haywood costume memory) OC: …50 feet. :20
“I was a die (1/2 of a pair of dice) for Halloween. I had a big cardboard box that I had painted white and had the polka dots and stuff. And I remember I was walking up this hill to go to this hill and literally fell back down the entire hill [laughter], rolling in this giant cardboard box that I couldn’t do anything about, because I rolled down about 50-feet.”

Audio / Luke Bryan says you can tell a lot about your neighbors from what kind of Halloween candy they hand out.

    Download

Luke Bryan (Halloween) OC: …your teeth. :18
“You can find out a lot about your neighbors by what kind of candy they put out. So, well, like full bars of Snickers bars, that’s what, and Reese’s cups, [but] the old chocolate popcorn ball of stuff, that’s no good either, like Dots – you get Dots one time of year and they pull your teeth.”

Audio / Luke Bryan says you can tell a lot about your neighbors from what kind of Halloween candy they hand out.

    Download

Scotty McCreery (favorite costume and memory) OC: …was happening. :19
“My favorite Halloween memory would have to be me in my gorilla costume running down the street chasing some little girl I was friends with. I knew her, but I was scaring her half to death. My favorite costume, though, would have to be my Elvis Presley costume. I think I was about 10 years old when that was happening.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE HAVE RELEASED THE VIDEO FOR THEIR HIT, ‘STAY A LITTLE LONGER.’

Brothers Osborne have released the video for their infectious single “Stay A Little Longer” with an exclusive Billboard debut – Watch HERE. Now available on all digital platforms, the brothers collaborated with director Peter Zavadil for the music video that highlights authentic couples and captures the different phases all relationships go through.

“It was an awesome day of shooting with great performances” says TJ Osborne “especially given they are actual, real-life couples.” “With this video, we’re trying to show that all relationships are the same” notes John Osborne “you have your trials and tribulations no matter who you are.”

The compelling piece centers on the theme that love is universal and showcases a broad spectrum of people and relationships from all walks of life. A single dolly shot through a series of spaces reveals these couples in various stages of the relationship cycle. To catch an inside look at the making of the powerful video, Paste Magazine will premiere unique behind-the-scenes footage on Wednesday, October 14.

Brothers Osborne, along with their good friend Shane McAnally, co-wrote “Stay A Little Longer,” a song that Rolling Stone describes as “epic, full of harmonics, finger taps and inspired picking that identify the Maryland natives as one of Nashville’s best.”

The catchy Top 20 track has already garnered almost 19 million total streams and just hit #7 on the Shazam Country Chart. The singer/songwriter duo was recently nominated for 2015 CMA Vocal Duo of the Year and has been named “One’s to Watch” by Rolling Stone, Billboard, Paste, Country Weekly, Nashville Lifestyles and Spotify.

Following the recently wrapped Southern Style tour with Darius Rucker, Brothers Osborne are currently on the road with Jon Pardi as part of the All Time High tour. Upcoming stops include Orlando, FL and Cincinnati, OH. For a full list of tour dates, news, images and more, visit www.BrothersOsborne.com

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE SWING INTO ACTION.

Brothers Osborne recently finished opening for Darius Rucker on the Southern Style Tour, and are about to head out with their pal Jon Pardi for the All Time High Tour next month. The two keep themselves busy by working out, hanging out and playing some backstage jams. Whatever they do on the road, they have fun.

“Sometimes we’ll go to the gym just to get some exercise in, because it’s easy just to sit around all day on the bus and you get kind of cooped up. We’ve also had a few small jams backstage,” says John Osborne. “We’ll all sit around and play some Western Swing, which is a kind of music that’s still alive barely, but is so much fun to play. And we have all these bands out – Darius has a fiddle player and A Thousand Horses has a fiddle player, so we’re like, ‘Let’s get some twin fiddles.’ We have some other musicians, so we all sat in a room and we recorded a version of us performing ‘San Antonio Rose,’ and just recently, we did one with Darius. We did an old Doc Watson song called ‘She’s Gone Away.’ We keep ourselves busy. We’re just a bunch of kids out there.”

The All Time High Tour kicks off October 8th in San Diego.

Brothers Osborne are currently making their way up the country charts with their latest single, “Stay a Little Longer.”

  • JON PARDI AND BROTHERS OSBORNE WILL BE AT AN ‘ALL TIME HIGH’ ON TOUR.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 24, 2015) – Capitol Records Nashville recording artist Jon Pardi announces today his headlining ALL TIME HIGH TOUR presented by Texas Roadhouse launching this fall. With 18 cross-country dates, the California native kicks off the tour in his home state at House of Blues in San Diego on Oct. 8. Fans can purchase tickets beginning August 28 at www.JonPardi.com with an exclusive presale for Pardi fan club members opening August 26.

Joining Pardi on tour is ACM and CMT Awards nominated duo, Brothers Osborne. Topping the “2015 Ones To Watch” lists for Rolling Stone, Spotify, Paste, Country Weekly andNashville Lifestyles, the duo kicks off the tour as their current Top 30 single “Stay A Little Longer” fires up country radio charts, leading their forthcoming debut album expected early next year.

With multiple sell-out dates on his debut headlining UP ALL NIGHT TOUR, Pardi answered the demand of fans to bring his dynamic live show back out on the road this fall following his run with Alan Jackson on the KEEPIN’ IT COUNTRY TOUR. Jackson notes, “Of all the new guys I’ve heard, I like that Jon is closer to country than most of the others and I think his songwriting is better than what I’ve heard in a while.”

On the ALL TIME HIGH TOUR, fans can expect to hear their favorites from Pardi’s highly-praised debut album Write You A Song including Top 10 GOLD-certified hit “Up All Night,” “Missin’ You Crazy,” “What I Can’t Put Down,” as well as much-anticipated new music. In between his active tour schedule, Pardi has been busy in the studio writing and recording for his forthcoming sophomore album with the lead single from the project set to release in the coming weeks. On the ALL TIME HIGH TOUR, fans will have the unique opportunity to preview brand new music from the singer-songwriter.

“Out of all the tours I’ve been fortunate to be a part of, this one is especially exciting because we’ve been building towards this moment for a while. I have been buddies with TJ and John [Osborne] since moving to Nashvill,e and we have talked about touring together for years. It’s finally here and going to be a blast,” shares Pardi. “I really love the new music I have been working on for the next album and cannot wait to start playing it out on the road for the fans.”

“We have a long history of supporting country music. From our jukeboxes to line dancing among our staff, country music is a big part of the atmosphere at our restaurants,” says Kent Taylor, Texas Roadhouse, Founder and CEO. “We’re proud to partner with Jon on his ‘All Time High Tour’ and our guests can look forward to hearing his music in our restaurants.”

Carving out a new path in the country marketplace and gaining an incredibly strong fan following on the road, Pardi has been praised by The New York Times as “redolent of the buttoned-up power-country of a couple decades ago” and NPR Music for his “clever way with wordplay” and “doing a good job of straddling two markets – what the large mainstream country demo wants, which is pop-country-rock as party anthems, and the smaller segment of the market that prizes its own concept of authenticity.”

He’s a great guitar player and they like to jam and I think it’s going to be a big part of the encore. The big jam session at the end and just all the fun we’re going to have and you know we’re going to play a lot of House of Blues and it’s always got cool theaters and looking forward to seeing the fans and having a good time.“

Brothers Osborne (Jon Pardi tour) OC: (John) …good fit. :51
TJ: “It’s gonna be great. I mean, Jon’s one of those guys – I think our music’s pretty different, but we equally love playing. Jon’s a fun guy. He’s crazy as hell. There’s no reason for them to see two artists play the same style, so it’s gonna be pretty fun to have two kind of new artists, label mates, get up on stage and [perform]. We’re good buddies with Jon and respect Jon and love his music, so to be able to share the stage with him and give the audience kinda two different flavors of today’s country, it’s gonna be fun. It’s cool. I’m really looking forward to it. I really, to be honest with you, have no idea what to expect, but I feel really, really confident that it’s gonna be a good time, good show.” JOHN: “I love going out with Jon too, because he does his own thing. He’s not following any trends. He’s being himself. He’s true to his music, and that’s how we are as well, so I think it’s gonna be a good fit.”

  • DARIUS RUCKER TAKES SOME OF HIS FAVORITE ‘VOICES’ ON THE ROAD.

Darius Rucker just kicked off his Southern Style Tour last week, and he’s excited to be on the road with his supporting acts – Brett Eldredge, Brothers Osborne and A Thousand Horses.

“I wanted to get guys whose voices I loved, first of all,” Darius says. “Those Brothers Osborne – their harmonies, man, it just kills me when brothers can sing like that, you know? It kills me, and I love it. And I thought they’d be great.”

As far as newcomers A Thousand Horses, “The last year, I’ve spent a lot of time hanging out with those guys and doing stuff together and playing shows together, and I think they’re great. I love what they do.”

“Brett, because there’s just something about that kid. I mean, his voice is so special. I mean, it’s so special. I love him. I think he’s awesome,” he says. “I wanted to tour with him, and I thought it’d be really cool to just take him out and have a good time and just, you know, this might be the last time he ever opens up for somebody. He’ll probably be a headliner next year, so it’s like let’s get him and go have some fun.”

Darius does have a few issues with Brett Eldredge, though. “I wish he didn’t know how to dress. I’m like, ‘Dude, if we have a day off and we’ve got out to dinner, I’ve got to see what you’ve got on before we go out, [laughs] ‘cause you’re not gonna make me look like a bum and you like you’re on your way to the Playboy Mansion you look so cool.’”

The Southern Style Tour will initially hit 30 cities across North America. The next stop is Thursday (May 21st) in Alpharetta, Georgia, followed by shows in Tampa and West Palm Beach.

Darius has hit the airwaves with his new single, “Southern Style.”

Darius Rucker (Southern Style Tour) OC: …great dude. 1:24
“I wanted to get guys whose voices I loved, first of all. Those Brothers Osborne – their harmonies, man, it just kills me when brothers can sing like that, you know? It kills me, and I love it. And I thought they’d be great. The Thousand Horses boys are friends of mine, and I love their music. The last year, I’ve spent a lot of time hanging out with those guys and doing stuff together and playing shows together, and I think they’re great. I love what they do. Brett, because there’s just something about that kid. I mean, his voice is so special. I mean, it’s so special. I love him. I think he’s awesome. I hear his songs, you hear his records and you go, ‘Man, that guy, he’s got it. He ain’t faking it. That’s for real.’ I’d played some shows with him and I’d done some guitar pulls with him, and I loved hanging with him. We’d hang out and talk, and he’d make me laugh. I’d go, ‘This kid gets it.’ I wanted to tour with him, and I thought it’d be really cool to just take him out and have a good time and just, you know, this might be the last time he ever opens up for somebody. He’ll probably be a headliner next year, so it’s like let’s get him and go have some fun. And I wish he didn’t know how to dress.
