• BROTHERS OSBORNE CELEBRATE THEIR FIRST NO. 1 JUST ‘A LITTLE LONGER.’

Brothers Osborne celebrated their recent chart topping success for “Stay a Little Longer” with a party in their honor at a local Nashville hotspot on Tuesday afternoon (March 1st). The guys scored their first No. 1 this year, and it’s been a long, but fruitful, journey for the pair.

“I think one of the things that separates people that are in the music industry or the entertainment industry from a lot of other people isn’t necessarily the fact that we’re more talented or we’re luckier or anything like that, we just keep showing up. And that’s the hardest thing. That’s the hardest thing,” says John Osborne. “You’ve got to keep showing up and you’ve got to keep getting turned down over and over and over and over. And it’s about getting back up and just wiping the dust off yourself and going back in there and getting denied again, and then you do it again and again and again, because there’s something inside you compelling you to do that.”

The Delaware duo, who just released their new single, “21 Summer,” is nominated for two ACM Awards – Vocal Duo and New Vocal Duo of the Year. The 51st Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas April 3rd at 8pm ET/delayed PT on CBS.

Audio / Prior to the duo’s first No. 1 party for “Stay a Little Longer,” John Osborne of Brothers Osborne talks to journalists about the determination and tenacity it takes for an artist, musician or entertainment to make it.

JOHN: “It’s been an amazing journey. It doesn’t matter who you are, if it takes a day for you to become successful, you would want it to take half a day. You always want it to happen sooner than later. I think one of the things that separates people that are in the music industry or the entertainment industry from a lot of other people isn’t necessarily the fact that we’re more talented or we’re luckier or anything like that, we just keep showing up. And that’s the hardest thing. That’s the hardest thing. You’ve got to keep showing up and you’ve got to keep getting turned down over and over and over and over. [NOTE: BEEP below] Brothers Osborne (No. 1 is incredible moment) OC: …personally. :54
JOHN: “I’ve been in Nashville for 15 years, and TJ has been here for 12, 13, and that’s awesome, because that’s been 15 years of kicking and fighting and saying yes and not sleeping and literally being sick and showing up and getting turned down again, and doing it because you love it so much. The reason why we get so emotional in those moments is because when we were told finally you have a No. 1 song on country radio, all of those moments come rushing back in because you suppress them because you don’t want to let them fuel you. It’s absolutely [beep] incredible, and there’s no other way to explain it for me than that. I will forever be grateful for the work that my brother’s put in, our label’s put in, Shane [McAnally] and the country music community has put in because this is one of the greatest moments of my life personally.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE’S ’21 SUMMER’ IS THE NO. 1 MOST ADDED SONG AT COUNTRY RADIO THIS WEEK.

Brothers Osborne earns the No.1 most added song at Country radio this week with their new single “21 Summer”. Following the duo’s RIAA Gold-Certified and GRAMMY-nominated No.1 hit “Stay A Little Longer,” John and TJ Osborne co-wrote “21 Summer” with Craig Wiseman. The breezy tune is featured on their debut album, Pawn Shop, which the Associated Press notes “establishes a slyly funky style of their own.” Praised by the Dallas Observer as “good old-fashioned country with incredible appeal for the mainstream,” Pawn Shop debuted at No.3 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart and No.10 on the Billboard Top Albums Chart.

Nominated for both Vocal Duo of the Year and New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year at next month’s 51st Annual ACM Awards, Brothers Osborne recently wrapped up touring with Jon Pardi as part of the All Time High Tour. This summer, fans can catch the Maryland natives on Miranda Lambert’s Keeper of the Flame Tour along with Kip Moore.

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE READY TO HIT THE AIRWAVES WITH ’21 SUMMER.’

Brothers Osborne are getting ready to hit the airwaves with their new single, “21 Summer,” which was a slightly different feel to the original version they first recorded.

“Jay had the idea for the song, and it was kind of weird because people loved the original version we had, and we knew people were probably not gonna like the fact that it was changed,” says TJ Osborne. “He’s like, ‘I think it would be really cool to have a song that was a little more, felt like you could put on and it’d just be chill.’ A lot of country records don’t really have that; they’re a little bit more kind of attention grabbing. And so, we loved that idea. We have those songs that are kind of a little bit more in your face, but it’d be cool to have a song that was just very relaxed and kind of almost have that kind of California country thing to it.”

The pair will hit the road with Miranda Lambert and Kip Moore on the Keeper of the Flame Tour later this year.

Brothers Osborne pull in two nominations for this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards, including Vocal Duo and New Vocal Duo of the Year. The ACMs will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas April 3rd at 8pm ET on CBS.

TJ: “That was a song we recorded several different times. It’s one of the older songs that we’ve had on that record. And Jay had the idea for the song, and it was kind of weird because people loved the original version we had, and we knew people were probably not gonna like the fact that it was changed. But Jay, it was really his idea. He’s like, I think it would be really cool to have a song that was a little more, felt like you could put on and it’d just be chill. You could sit on your back porch and just hang out and have a conversation, and it’d just be a song that was playing. A lot of country records don’t really have that; they’re a little bit more kind of attention grabbing. And so, we loved that idea. We have those songs that are kind of a little bit more in your face, but it’d be cool to have a song that was just very relaxed and kind of almost have that kind of California country thing to it.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE ARE GRATEFUL TO SCORE THEIR FIRST NO. 1 SINGLE.

    Attachment-1

Brothers Osborne scored their very first No. 1 single with “Stay a Little Longer” this week. The sibling duo wrote the RIAA Gold-certified single “Stay A Little Longer” with good friend Shane McAnally.

“It’s crazy. Honestly, it’s beyond surreal,” says TJ Osborne. “It’s hard for me to describe it really. I just feel really just more grateful than anything.”  John Osborne agrees. “Yeah, it’s hard to explain because we spend so much time working and playing and performing and writing that we kind of lose perspective sometimes as to like actually progress is being made. And for this to happen for us, especially at this point in our careers, is one of the highest honors that we could ever ask for, and it’s definitely something that we’ll never forget for the rest of our lives.”

The hit single, which is nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at next month’s GRAMMY Awards, is featured on their debut album Pawn Shop which debuted at No.3 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart and No.10 on the Billboard Top Albums Chart. Pawn Shop continues to garner critical acclaim with Rolling Stone calling it “one of the best rock records in a long while.” Produced by Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town), Newsday gives the album an A- and SPIN notes the “lyrical thoughtfulness, character of the production, and the sheer quality of the playing are all exemplary.”

Brothers Osborne recently made their national TV debut on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and “TODAY.” They are currently touring with Jon Pardi on the All Time High Tour and will join Miranda Lambert in addition to Kip Moore as part of the Keeper Of The Flame Tour this summer. Brothers Osborne (#1) OC: (John) …of our lives. :53
TJ: “I mean it’s crazy! There’s so many different achievements that you want as an artist and as a writer. To have a No. 1, it’s one of those things that out of all of the work you put in to it, to be able to have it pay off and to work and have the fans out there and the radio stations out there support us, it’s crazy. It takes a lot of people to join in on this and to get a song up to No. 1. So, it’s crazy. Honestly, it’s beyond surreal. It’s hard for me to describe it really. I just feel really just more grateful than anything.” JOHN: “Yeah, it’s hard to explain because we spend so much time working and playing and performing and writing that we kind of lose perspective sometimes as to like actually progress is being made. • BROTHERS OSBORNE EARN SOME HEAVY METAL FOR ‘STAY A LITTLE LONGER.’

The members of Brothers Osborne are closing in on the top spot on the country charts with their single, “Stay a Little Longer,” and the tune just earned the duo their first gold record for sales of more than 500-thousand. They were presented with the plaque during their appearance on NBC’s Today show Tuesday morning (January 19th). See the video of their interview here.

The song starts off sweetly, but ends with a scorching guitar solo, all of which showcase the brothers’ many musical facets. “With this kind of natural flow of it being this kind of almost sad, kind of balladish kind of feeling song in the verses, and then it kind of ramps up by the time you’re in the choruses,” says TJ Osborne. “It gives it an almost like a party vibe to it, and then it ends with this wailing guitar solo in it. For us, it does represent all these different things we do.”

“Stay a Little Longer” is from their debut album, Pawn Shop, which was released on Friday (January 15th).

The guys are nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Country Duo/Group category for their hit single, “Stay a Little Longer.” The 58th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles February 15th at 8pm ET on CBS.

“It kind of happened naturally. With this kind of natural flow of it being this kind of almost sad, kind of balladish kind of feeling song in the verses, and then it kind of ramps up by the time you’re in the choruses, and it’s like a really fun, it almost gives it almost like a party vibe to it, and then it ends with this wailing guitar solo in it. For us, it does represent all these different things we do, because we don’t like to play the same thing over and over and over.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE COVER ALL ASPECTS OF LOVE IN ‘STAY A LITTLE LONGER’ VIDEO.

Brothers Osborne are staying a little longer near the top of the country charts with their hit single, “Stay a Little Longer,” that’s just climbed inside the Top 3. The video for the song is also sitting pretty at No. 13 on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown, as well.

The Peter Zavadil-directed clip for “Stay a Little Longer” was shot inside an empty Nashville warehouse and features five real-life couples. What you see is those couples, which range from an older couple to an interracial couple and a same-sex couple, love each other, argue, get back together – all of which reflects reality for each of us.

“Overall, everyone was very supportive and loved that concept, and we had some people that were frustrated with us for putting like a same-sex couple in there and interracial, but at the end of the day, we felt that it was actually more discriminating against people if we were to just leave people out,” says TJ Osborne. “The whole concept was that it’s for everyone, so it’s like let’s put everyone in it. You know, it’s a song we all feel and it’s something that we all go through together. We’re so different as people, but the feeling of love or not love or not sure it it’s love is something everyone understands and goes through.”

“Stay a Little Longer” is from their new album, Pawn Shop, which was released on Friday (January 15th).

In support of the album release, John and TJ will make their national TV debut with NBC’s Late Night With Seth Meyers Monday (January 18th) followed by the Today show on Tuesday (January 19th).

The duo recently earned their first ever GRAMMY nomination for their current Top 3 hit “Stay A Little Longer.”

“The song is really kind of inspired by the fact that everyone kind of feels this, and it really hasn’t been talked about. You usually talk about being in love or being heartbroken, but everyone feels that weird, kind of unexplainable, in-between phase. So, we were kind of like, we could not find some actors to put in here, let’s go out and find real couples and tell the story of, whether it was the older couple or the young, beautiful couple and the interracial couple and the same-sex couple, and it not be about one thing and have it be about everything. Overall, everyone was very supportive and loved that concept, and we had some people that were frustrated with us for putting like a same-sex couple in there and interracial, but at the end of the day, we felt that it was actually more discriminating against people if we were to just leave people out. • BROTHERS OSBORNE TAKE A DIFFERENT APPROACH.

Brothers Osborne take a different approach to being a duo. While TJ Osborne takes lead on all of the vocals and plays rhythm guitar, his brother John shreds on lead guitar and provides harmony to TJ.

“It’s really built off of me singing and John playing the guitar,” says TJ. “So, I think it is unique and fun and cool, and it kind of gives two kind of parallels that I think work really nicely together.”

John describes it as a kind of old-school rock approach. “In country music, you have two singers that sing a lot of harmonies and stuff together, and we do that as brothers – sing a lot together – but his voice in the band is his voice and my voice is guitar,” he says. “We look back at a lot of old rock bands like Aerosmith to The Allman Brothers and guys like that, where it’s like a lead singer and the sideman guitar player. That’s the approach that we’re going for, and it seems to be really working for us. It’s kind of carving our path in country music.”

TJ and John, who are riding high on the country charts with their single “Stay a Little Longer,” will release their debut album Friday (January 15th). The two are set to perform on NBC’s Late Night With Seth Meyers on Monday (January 18th), followed by a performance on NBC’s Today show Tuesday (January 19th).

TJ: “[For] most duos it’s built on singing. I mean, John’s an incredible guitar player and to not try to follow in anyone’s footsteps and just kind of do it our own way, it’s really built off of me singing and John playing the guitar. So, I think it is unique and fun and cool, and it kind of gives two kind of parallels that I think work really nicely together. It’s really fun in a live setting too.” JOHN: “It’s kind of an old-school rock approach, you know. • BROTHERS OSBORNE READY DEBUT ALBUM, PAWN SHOP.

Classic country, timeless rock and roll and a blue collar background are the primary elements that make up the music of Brothers Osborne’s debut album, Pawn Shop. The collection, produced by Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town, Cage the Elephant and Zac Brown Band), features 11 songs written by brothers John and TJ Osborne, including their Top 3 single, “Stay a Little Longer.”

“Every song is held together by John and I and what we do, but we want it to be kind of these different scenes in every track,” says TJ. “We went through a lot, a lot of material and listened to it over and over and over…I think every artist struggles with [picking songs for an album]. If you think of all of your life’s work being summed up in 11 songs, that’s really, really challenging.”

Brothers Osborne (picking songs for album) OC: …really challenging. :55
“We really focused on having this album be, every song is held together by John and I and what we do, but we want it to be kind of these different scenes in every track. So, that’s really, really difficult to whittle that down. I don’t know. We went through a lot, a lot of material and listened to it over and over and over. Some of the songs when you’re listening to ‘em, you’re not sure how they’re gonna turn out when you finally record them. I mean, it’s pretty often a lot of times the song that you think is gonna be the best song, the easiest song to record ends up being the hardest one and sometimes doesn’t turn out that great. Then there’s these little diamonds-in-the-rough that’s usually the last song you just threw on the session just ‘cause you had the time, and it’s just suddenly that’s the one, you know? I don’t know why that is, but I think that’s really challenging. I think every artist struggles with [picking songs for an album]. If you think of all of your life’s work being summed up in 11 songs, that’s really, really challenging.”
