Kip Moore has created a documentary with one of his best friends (video director PJ Brown) to detail the months he took off to travel the world, as well as the process of making his new album. The Journey to Slowheart begins with footage in his hometown at his mother’s house in Georgia. He drives around the town reminiscing on the good times with his parents and siblings. It is apparent that there are several key people in his life that have really had an influence on him and his views. He talks about his sister and “biggest hero” who was paralyzed from the waist down after a bad car accident when she was in high school. She describes Kip as being the most “caring brother who would do anything to help her.” He talks about his father, who passed away about 5 years ago and the heartbreak that goes along with that. He also talks about a man he met in Cancun, who has cancer, but he does not let that stop him.

It wasn’t his idea to have cameras follow him 24/7, but he soon realized what a special journey he was on and embraced the idea. “PJ knew where I was at mentally. He knew the exhaustion that I had been dealing with, so when I decided to check out, he was like, ‘I want to come with you and I want to document where you are in the beginning of this journey, where you’re at the end of it and what comes about after it.’ So, he followed all of our travels and watching me just kind of evolve through those four months and come out of it and come back in the studio and finish the second half of this record,” says Kip. “So, we just felt like it was a crucial time. We knew that when I got done with those travels I was going to be trying to go back in and finish this record that I’d started on. So, I mean, I think he just wanted to capture what happened between the beginning of it and the end of it, and it wasn’t my idea; it was his, but once we got going, I could see that something pretty special was happening, so I’m glad we were able to capture it.”

He decided to take a break from touring to see the world and for self-exploration. He traveled to Hawaii, Cancun, and Iceland. He traveled to Iceland with one of his best friends that he met in Nashville when he first moved there. Traveling gave Kip a new perspective on life and allowed him to recharge.

Kip is scaling the country charts with “More Girls Like You,” which is from his new album, Slowheart, available September 8th.

Singer/songwriter Kip Moore celebrated a major milestone last night, as his breakout debut album UP ALL NIGHT was certified PLATINUM by the RIAA. Kip was surprised by Universal Music Group Nashville’s Mike Dungan and Cindy Mabe with a commemorative plaque during an intimate event, hosted by CMT’s Leslie Fram, as he shared more insight into his upcoming third studio album SLOWHEART, available on September 8th.  He first shot out of the gate with UP ALL NIGHT, spawning three No. One hit singles including GOLD certified “Beer Money,” PLATINUM certified “Hey Pretty Girl,” and the DOUBLE PLATINUM breakout hit “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck.

Co-written by Moore, his current Top 15 single and the lead track taken from SLOWHEART,  “More Girls Like You,” is the fastest rising single of his career so far and is receiving praise from critics such as Entertainment Weekly declaring he “has made a name for himself weaving vignettes of Southern, blue-collar life and love into rollicking country anthems.” As he “consistently serves up clever roots-rock riffs and rhythms that separate Moore from the rock-meets-rap focus of his Nashville peers” (Associated Press), the release of “More Girls Like You” also follows the acclaim that surrounded his sophomore album WILD ONES heralded as “an impressively singular release from Music Row” by The Guardian.

Following an extended break, Moore is back out on the road playing some of country music’s biggest festivals this year, as well as headlining dates in U.K this fall stopping in Birmingham, UK (10/2), Manchester, UK (10/3), Glasgow, UK (10/4) and culminating in a special show as part of Country Music Week in London, UK at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 10/6. Hillary Scott has been nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year for “Thy Will” for this year’s Dove Awards. Hillary and her family, the Scott Family, recorded and released “Thy Will” from their Love Remains album. The 48th Annual GMA Dove Awards will take place at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville October 17th at 7:30pm ET. The Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) will exclusively air the awards show on Sunday, October 22nd.

Chris Stapleton and Lady Antebellum have been added to the lineup for the all-star concert, All in For the Gambler: Kenny Rogers’ Farewell Concert Celebration. The event, which will be taped at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena October 25th, will also feature guest appearances by Little Big Town, Dolly Parton, Alison Krauss, Jamey Johnson and Elle King, among others.

Luke Bryan, Little Big Town and Kip Moore are among the artists performing at the Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City, Florida September 1st – 3rd. Jason Aldean, Brett Eldredge, Dan + Shay and Granger Smith will also perform.

George Strait, Little Big Town, Vince Gill, Hillary Scott and Toby Keith are among the first-round performers at this year’s ACM Honors, taking place at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium August 23rd. The concert event, which will also feature performances by Brad Paisley, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett and Maren Morris, will air September 15th at 9pm ET/PT on CBS.

As previously announced, Special Award recipients celebrated at the 11^th Annual ACM Honors will include Kelsea Ballerini (Gene Weed Milestone Award), Toby Keith (Poet’s Award), Bob Kingsley (Mae Boren Axton Service Award), Reba McEntire (Mae Boren Axton Service Award), “Nashville” (Tex Ritter Film Award), Dolly Parton (Gary Haber Lifting Lives Award), Shel Silverstein (Poet’s Award, awarded posthumously), and George Strait (Cliffie Stone Icon Award). The evening will also honor winners of the Industry and Studio Recording Awards, along with Songwriter of the Year Award winner, Lori McKenna. The Academy of Country Music will present trophies to previously announced Special Award recipients Eric Church (Merle Haggard Spirit Award) and Willie Nelson (Poet’s Award) at a later date.

Kip Moore’s “More Girls Like You” is poised to enter the Top 10 on the country charts, and the song, which he co-wrote with Steven Olsen, Josh Miller and David Garcia, is one that is a good representation of where he would like to be some day.

“I wanna always make records that depict where I’m at at that particular place in my life,” says Kip. “This is where I’m at in my life now where, I’m still a wildcard. I’m still aloof and I’m still like might be a little ways away from that, but as I’ve traveled and I’ve been around and seen so many different walks of life and so many cultures, and it’s this constant thing. I’ve watched dads being enamored of their daughters and I look forward to that now. I’m a lot more open to that now. So, that’s what the song is finding that person that you find so amazing that you hope they turn out like that amazing person does.”

“More Girls Like You” is the first single from Kip’s new album, Slowheart, which will be available September 8th.

Lady Antebellum have contributed a new song, titled “Chop to the Top,” for Broadway’s new offering, The SpongeBob Musical, which is set to open at the Palace Theater in New York City December 4th.

Dierks Bentley will make an appearance in the new show, Carpool Karaoke, which is based on the popular segment featured on The Late, Late Show with James Corden. The What the Hell Did I Say singer teams up with Sheryl Crow for an episode of the show. Future installments will include Blake Shelton and Chelsea Handler, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, Alicia Keyes, John Legend, the entire Cyrus clan (including Billy Ray, Miley and Noah), as well as NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon and Michael Strahan, Shakira, Metallica and many more. Kip Moore revealed the cover for his upcoming third studio album SLOWHEART, available Sept. 8.  Moore, who was inspired to name the release after his fiercely loyal fans who have adopted the name SLOWHEART themselves and who “defines himself by his honesty, which feeds directly into his music, which earned him a fan base of die-hards and helped make him a breakout star in Nashville,” (Washington Post) gave fans the opportunity to view and share the album cover first via social media. The cover image, taken in Costa Rica during Kip’s extended break earlier this year, speaks to the personal nature of the collection which Rolling Stone praises for its “gut-punch of a vintage album, the vocals out front and clear as crystal.”

“My former guitar player called me a ‘slowheart’ many years ago, claiming I don’t just jump the gun and show all my cards or my emotions on what I truly feel,” said Moore. “He always said ‘you’re a slowheart, man…you observe before you act.’ I eventually named the band the slowhearts, and my fans are the slowhearts too. And so, its only fitting that the record I’ve been waiting to make, was named SLOWHEART.”
