With nearly 400 million global streams, a CMT Music Awards nomination, and a successful headline tour already highlighting 2023, EMI Records Nashville singer-songwriter Kylie Morgan unveils her debut album, Making It Up As I Go, releasing October 13 and available to pre-order now. The project’s title track is out today (September 1st), and fans can join Kylie to celebrate the announcement as she goes live at 1:30 p.m. CT, ahead of the “Making It Up As I Go” official music video premiere, as part of the exclusive Multi Format Program with YouTube Music.
Kylie shares, “This album is for the in-betweeners. The ones who pretend to have it all figured out but are still finding out where they want to go, who they want to be, and how to get there. Whether you’re a child who’s supposed to feel like a teenager, a teenager who’s supposed to feel like a grown up or a grown up that still feels like a child. We’re all just doing our best and I hope this is the soundtrack to your journey. Cause if we’re all being honest… we’re just makin’ it up as we go.”
Kylie’s debut album follows the success of her bold breakout track “If He Wanted To He Would,” which is included on the project, along with recent releases “A Few Hearts Ago” and “Sugar Daddy.” The 12-song track list features two self-penned songs, plus co-writes alongside Music Row’s most promising songwriters. Kylie’s signature vulnerable storytelling combines with empowering anthems, for a refreshing relatability that meets fans right where they are, in any stage of life.

Kylie Morgan is sharing an authentic and familiar perspective on love with her new track “A Few Hearts Ago,”out everywhere today. Written by Kylie alongside Casey Brown and James McNair, and produced by Brown, Kylie reflects on the journey from heartbreak to healing with the lyrics:
A few hearts ago
I was closin’ down a few bars ago
In the wrong backseat a few cars ago
Wishin’ for you a few stars ago
Down a lonely road
A few hearts ago
Woulda broke yours, I’d be missin’ out
Wouldn’t have these lips I’m kissin’ now
Time did what it’s supposed to do
Thank God I didn’t meet you
A few hearts ago
“A Few Hearts Ago” follows Kylie’s recent track “Sugar Daddy” as a first look at new music set to be released soon. “Hey y’all, it’s Kylie Morgan. My new song ‘A Few Hearts Ago’ is about meeting the right person at the right time, and if you would’ve met them any sooner, it most likely wouldn’t have worked out.”
“Hey! It’s Jon Pardi, wishing all the fathers out there a very Happy Father’s Day. Here’s to you, Senior. Insert beer can opening sample (sound effect). (laughs)

A bio-pic on the life of Glen Campbell is currently in development by director Justin Chadwick and producer James Keach (who directed the documentary on Campbell I’ll Be Me). Currently titled Rhinestone Cowboy, after the legendary performer’s 1975 chart-topper of the same name, the film reportedly has Tim McGraw attached to it.
KylieMorgan loves being a big sister to Raylee, who seems to be following in the country singer’s footsteps. Kylie prayed and wished for a baby sister, and she finally got one when she was 10 years old.
“Man, I prayed and begged and asked for a little sister for 10 years,” says Kylie. “Every single Easter, every single Christmas, I asked the tooth fairy one time, and I don’t think you can even do that. And I wanted someone, I wanted a friend, I wanted a built-in best friend, and that’s what I got after all these years. I will never forget the time when my mom and dad told me they were pregnant, and I was just so overwhelmed with joy that I already felt a sense of just connection even before she got here because the fact of having a little sister and always having a reflection of you is what was so important to me. That’s why I continue to actually try and be better is for her, because I want her to learn from my mistakes and I have made a lot of them and not proud of a lot of ‘em, but I would make them all over again if it taught her even one thing. And just to have someone that I can always love through anything and her love me back is just something that you can’t ever put into words.”
Kylie is climbing the country charts with her single “If He Wanted To He Would,” which just got an extra boost from Kelly Clarkson on her television show. Earlier this week, Kelly performed the song as part of her Kellyoke which opens the show.
After wrapping her first headlining tour last month, Kylie has several dates, including performances during CMA Fest, before heading out with Old Dominion on their “No Bad Vibes Tour” this fall.

Kylie Morgan is bossing up with her brand-new track, “Sugar Daddy,”out today. Penned by Kylie with James McNair and Seth Mosley, the upbeat, empowering song places high value on hard work, as she sings:
Make your own money, honey
Wouldn’t life be sweet
You don’t need a rich man to buy you what you need
Faking love for diamonds, baby, that won’t make you happy
Fill your own pockets
Be your own sugar daddy
With more new music on the way, Kylie’s debut single “If He Wanted To He Would” is currently climbing the country charts and has tallied more than 90 million streams. She continues to turn heads as one of the genre’s most exciting new artists, recently named Billboard’s “Country Rookie of the Month,” and scored her first-ever award nomination at the 2023 CMT Music Awards for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year. This weekend, she will wrap up her headlining Independent With You Tour with stops in Omaha, NE (4/28) and Kansas City, MO (4/29). Kylie Morgan knows what it’s like to turn to a specific song and musical artist to feel comfort or validation for one’s feelings, and now she is offering up the same consolation and reassurance to other young women through her own songs such as her current single, “If He Wanted To He Would.”
Kylie turned to global superstar Taylor Swift when she was experiencing her first heartbreak. “I’ll never forget. Taylor Swift had a song called ‘Last Kiss’ on one of the prior records,” recalls the Kansas native. “It was right when I was going through a breakup with my very first love and I played that song over and over and over until I just like cried every single time ‘cause I’m like, ‘She gets it. I know exactly that feeling.’ And so, to be able to be that for someone else is truly a dream come true.”
