• MADDIE & TAE SHARE “BATHROOM FLOOR” MUSIC VIDEO ON CMT TODAY.

Current ACM Awards Duo of the Year nominees Maddie & Tae unveiled the official music video for “Bathroom Floor” today on CMT and on Viacom’s Times Square billboard. The video for the song “everyone needs to hear” (Seventeen), featured on the pair’s upcoming sophomore album THE WAY IT FEELS out on April 10th, also premiered across all CMT platforms – watch HERE.

Picking up where acclaimed music video “Die From A Broken Heart” left off, which had the best first week video debut by a country female act in 2019 and is approaching the Top 30 at country radio, “Bathroom Floor” opens with the same characters chronicled throughout last year’s “revealing” (PEOPLE) video. In the brand new video for the song Billboard describes as “a somber tale of a girl struggling following a split, the upbeat music and the duo’s powerhouse vocals help convince a friend to ‘get up off the bathroom floor,’” Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye succeed in the ultimate girls’ night out, healing heartbreak and moving forward with blasts of confidence and moxie.

Award-winning duo Maddie & Tae are drawing praise for their new music “anchored around their stellar vocal pairings and some of the tightest harmonies on Music Row” (Rolling Stone) with a “sound that’s identifiable while still representing a distinct step forward” (Billboard). Their highly anticipated sophomore album THE WAY IT FEELS is set to release on April 10 (Mercury Nashville), featuring the GOLD-certified single “Die From A Broken Heart.” Maddie & Tae first broke out in 2013 with their brilliant “Girl In A Country Song,” which took Country radio by storm, skyrocketing to the top of the charts and quickly going PLATINUM. The duo became only the third female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay charts, also earning trophies from the Country Music Academy and Radio Disney Music Awards along with multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Award nominations. Receiving widespread praise from NPR, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, Glamour and others, country music’s hottest stars including Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice and Brad Paisley have welcomed Maddie & Tae on the road, with the pair set to support Lady Antebellum’s 2020 OCEAN TOUR following their headlining TOURIST IN THIS TOWN TOUR. Maddie & Tae (Bathroom Floor) OC: (Tae) …exactly. 1:33
MADDIE: “It was a crazy day because we, I was having a really, really rough emotional day the day we wrote ‘Bathroom Floor.’ I had some just crazy stuff going on in my personal life, and so I walked into the writing room bawling crying for something totally separate, and we wrote a song about that. And it was super somber and just really therapeutic, and then after it was just such a healing experience and we were thinking about this. I had this title ‘Bathroom Floor’ for probably a year, and I texted Tae and I was like ‘Hey, I wanna write Bathroom Floor with you and Josh one day. I think it’s gonna be a really sad, somber song.’ That’s how I envisioned it at first, and then that day for some reason, we had already written this really, really sad somber song, and then we kind of started talking about Bathroom Floor, and I was like I’ve always wanted to write that with y’all. And Josh kind of started this groove that made it sound like, happy, and we were like oh my gosh, this could be a really empowering anthem type of song. ‘Cause we hadn’t written that yet. ‘New Dogs, Old Tricks’ was kind of our girl anthem before Bathroom Floor, and now it’s like we finally wrote our redemption song ourselves, which is a really powerful moment for us but we kind of tapped into experiences both of us had had. We got really drunk in Jamaica one time and were on the bathroom floor ,and then my bachelorette party I was really on the bathroom floor. Oof. It’s kind of just a song to hopefully empower women that are going through the ‘Die From a Broken Heart’ phase, to go, ‘Hey, bathroom floor’s right here, girl. You gotta go live it up.” TAE: “Silver lining, it’s coming.” MADDIE: “Yes.”

Audio / ERIC CHURCH TALKS ABOUT THE ENERGY EXCHANGED BETWEEN HIM AND HIS FANS IN THE AUDIENCE AT HIS SHOWS

    Download

Eric Church (performing energy) OC: …type of crowd. :40
“Well, I think for me every night I try to empty the tank. There’s always that energy floating around. It’s a palpable thing, and it’s up to me to start that exchange and get the crowd to give it back to me and then watch it build on itself and just to have that experience. We have one night here in whatever city we’re in, you know, we’ve got this night. I’m not gonna see you for a while you’re not gonna see me for a while, you know? And I love being able to capitalize on that moment and trying to live in that moment and get as much energy exchange between myself and the crowd as we can. I love that. That’s my favorite part of what we do. I love being around people, I’m very passionate about my music, and I love people who are passionate about the music too and I love playing a show for that type of crowd.”

Audio / ERIC CHURCH TALKS ABOUT HIS SONG "SOME OF IT."

    Download

Eric Church (Some of It coming of age) OC: …figure it out. :56
“That’s a song, a coming-of-age song, it’s an adult song. It’s adult music. If you listen to the thematics in that and what it’s about, it’s about being older and having some wisdom about you. I think that’s something that I appreciate in my fan base now that early on probably wasn’t there. We were young and drunk and fighting and stupid. But I think now to see them grow – to see the fan base grow – it’s just one of those songs that came along at the right time. And again, it was such a blessing that happened. It wasn’t going to be on the album. It was just one of those freak things that I put it on the album, the last song on the album. The album was done, and all of a sudden it becomes the pillar, one of the pillars on the album. I think again, you go back to it’s one of the great things about music, is you just never know what’s going to happen until it’s all said and done. You can try to plan all you want to, but you’ll probably not going to figure it out.”

Audio / LAST YEAR, CARRIE UNDERWOOD TALKED ABOUT HER ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR NOMINATION FOR LAST YEAR’S CMA AWARDS…AND THE SAME SENTIMENT HOLDS TRUE FOR THIS YEAR’S ACM AWARDS.

Carrie Underwood (Entertainer nod 2019) OC: …sorry boys! (laughs) :28
“I personally feel like entertainer. It’s everything, right? So, I feel like people kind of narrow it down to tours, but I feel like there’s so many more components to it. And, you know, I’m blessed and lucky to be nominated, obviously, and fantastic company. It would be amazing, but of course, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want it. (laughs) Sorry boys.” (laughs)

Audio / LUKE BRYAN TALKS ABOUT BEING NAMED ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR FROM BOTH THE ACM AWARDS AND CMA AWARDS.

    Download

Luke Bryan (Entertainer wins) OC: …got it right. :49
“The title is what it is, you know? I mean, my focus in life when I’m on stage is entertaining these fans. If it’s my smile and my demeanor, if it’s my song that does it, if it’s me picking up a child out of the audience and letting them sing, it’s not being so premeditated that you can see it from a mile away. I mean, my main thing is be a fan up there that just gets to sing. That’s kind of how I’ve always approached it, and being called the Entertainer of the Year makes me want to do that to the best of my ability every night for the rest of my life as long as I’m on stage. I want people to leave my shows and go, ‘You know what? Whoever’s voting him Entertainer of the Year, they got it right.’”

Jordan Davis (ACM nomination) OC: …in Vegas. :18
“Hey! This is Jordan Davis, and I just want to say thank you to the ACMs (and) to all my supporters in country music for making me a nominee for the New (Male) Artist of the Year at the 55th ACM Awards. I grew up watching this and to be on it now is a dream come true. So, thank y’all so much. Looking forward to an awesome weekend in Vegas.”

Audio / Caylee Hammack is overwhelmed by her two ACM nominations for Music Event and New Female Artist of the Year.

Caylee Hammack (ACM nominations) OC: …Thank you. (laughs) :47
“I am blown away and just completely in awe in this situation to wake up and realize that I have two nominations for the ACMs. It’s, this is the biggest blessing in my life, I feel like right now, and I’m just so excited to be included in such a great group of women in the first place with Miranda Lambert pulling us all together to do that cover. It is amazing to see that it was nominated for Music Event of the Year and also as a young female artist in this industry, it is such a validating moment for me to be nominated as a New Female Artist of the Year nominee. Just thank you. Anybody, whoever it was, who had to kill somebody to get me there. Thank you!”(laughs)

PLATINUM-selling duo Maddie & Tae celebrated RIAA GOLD certification for their current single “Die From A Broken Heart” ahead of their performance at the Grand Ole Opry this past Friday (2/7). Pegged as “their finest moment yet” (Esquire), “Die From A Broken Heart,” struck immediate fan connection garnering over 130 MILLION streams, while the “revealing” (PEOPLE) official music video torpedoed upon release as the best performing first week for a country female in 2019 with over 30 MILLION video streams to date. Approaching the Top 30 at Country radio, the song will appear on the duo’s upcoming sophomore album THE WAY IT FEELS (Mercury Nashville), out on April 10th.

Award-winning duo Maddie & Tae are drawing praise for their new music “anchored around their stellar vocal pairings and some of the tightest harmonies on Music Row” (Rolling Stone) with a “sound that’s identifiable while still representing a distinct step forward” (Billboard). Maddie & Tae first broke out in 2013 with their brilliant “Girl In A Country Song,” which took Country radio by storm, skyrocketing to the top of the charts and quickly going PLATINUM. The duo became only the third female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay charts, also earning trophies from the Country Music Academy and Radio Disney Music Awards along with multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Award nominations. Receiving widespread praise from NPR, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, Glamour and others, country music’s hottest stars including Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice and Brad Paisley have welcomed Maddie & Tae on the road, with the pair set to support Lady Antebellum’s 2020 OCEAN TOUR following their own headlining TOURIST IN THIS TOWN TOUR. For additional information, visit www.maddieandtae.com.

  • MADDIE & TAE REVEAL SOPHOMORE ALBUM, THE WAY IT FEELS, AVAILABLE ON APRIL 10TH.

As PLATINUM-selling duo Maddie & Tae are “riding a gust of momentum” (PEOPLE) following an explosive 2019 unveiling new music that is “drenched in raw, vulnerable emotion” (American Songwriter), the pair continues to fill-in pages of their expansive journey, revealing details today of their highly-anticipated full-length sophomore album The Way It Feels (Mercury Nashville), set to be released on April 10. Produced by Jimmy Robbins and Derek Wells, the album is available for pre-save NOW.

Featuring songs and stories from their previous two EPs shared last year, which helped propel the pair as the Best Streaming Female Country Duo of All Time with over 812 MILLION streams and earned instant critical applause for introducing “a more sophisticated side” (Associated Press), The Way It Feels is rounded out with five brand new tracks all co-written by Maddie & Tae’s Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye, culminating in the duo’s winding journey of love, loss… and most importantly redemption.

Opening with the “feel-good” (Billboard) “Everywhere I’m Goin,” their boldly honest sophomore album balances the tumbling heartache of their current single “Die From A Broken Heart” and the “harmony-rich ballad” (Rolling Stone) “Lay Here With Me” feat. Dierks Bentley into all-consuming love of “Trying On Rings,” “My Man” and “Write A Book.”  Stand-out moments of strength include “One Heart To Another,” while some of their most raw moments are on in display in the delicate “Water In His Wine Glass.”

“It has been four years since we’ve released an album. For us, this is a lot more than just an album release,” Marlow shared. “This sophomore album will always be a reminder that no matter the setbacks and struggles, we will come out stronger and better. We are so proud of this 15-song story. We wrote these songs during the most vulnerable times and our hope is that people hear that and connect.”

The Way it Feels is finally here!” added Dye. “These songs will always represent something so beautiful and spiritual to us. And hopefully, it will represent something similar to people who listen.”

The Way It Feels track listing:

    1. “Everywhere I’m Goin’” (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Josh Thompson, Jimmy Robbins)
    2. “Bathroom Floor”  (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Josh Kerr)

Maddie & Tae (message through music) OC: …love it. :26
“I think something that Maddie and I want to say through our songs, especially in this new chapter of life is that we’ve lived a lot of life in the past couple of years, but no matter what phase we’ve gone through, we always want to have that self-confidence and self-awareness to just go through any type of chapter life throws at us. We’ve had some ups and downs, but through it all we’ve just stayed ourselves and we’ve stayed true to our songwriting. And I think a lot of people are going to learn that about us, if they didn’t know it already, and hopefully love it.”

Following a sweeping year “with new music forming the foundation for their meteoric rise,” (Sounds Like Nashville) PLATINUM-selling duo Maddie & Tae are slated for two upcoming performances on NBC’s TODAY Show. First up, they will deliver their “poignant” (Sun-Sentinel) single “Die From A Broken Heart” tomorrow, December 20th at 10am local time. An anchor to the duo’s new music “drenched in raw, vulnerable emotion” (American Songwriter), “Die From A Broken Heart” received immediate fan and critical demand, tallying over 107 MILLION streams to date and currently inside the Top 40 at Country radio.

Then, the duo will return for the New Year’s Eve edition of the show, performing “Bathroom Floor,” a breakup song co-written by the pair with Josh Kerr (Tae’s fiancé) that “everyone needs to hear” (Seventeen).

Most recently, Maddie & Tae released their “gorgeous cover” (PopSugar) of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “featuring their warm sugar vocals frosted over each other in a sweet harmony” (Billboard). The song is available everywhere now here.

Receiving widespread praise from NPR, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, Glamour and others, Country music’s hottest stars including Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice and Brad Paisley have welcomed Maddie & Tae on the road, with the pair most recently supporting Carrie Underwood’s 2019 The Cry Pretty Tour 360.
