    “Women In My Life” Lyrics

    I wouldn’t know a house from a loving home

10:30 sharp from the crack of dawn

Where the forks go, how find the book of Psalms

    Good cobbler peaches

I wouldn’t sing Aretha or rake the leaves

Watch my mouth in mixed company

Probably wouldn’t put up a Christmas tree

    And spoil all my nieces

Some are here, some are gone

Some were mine all summer long

Solid as a rock, rolling like a stone

    In and out my door

I can drive a stick, I can drive a nail

Hold down a job, fend for myself

Yeah, I’d be alive but not much more

If it wasn’t for, if it wasn’t for

All of the women in my life

    I wouldn’t know 7:30’s more like 8

How to hold my horses on a second date

And how to hold to a pair of two’s like a royal straight

    ‘Til she calls your bluff

I wouldn’t know that young love ain’t all smiles

    Grocery stores have flower aisles

I’d have twice the money and half the miles

    On this old truck

Some are here, some are gone

Some were mine all summer long

Solid as a rock, rolling like a stone

    In and out my door

I can drive a stick, I can drive a nail

Hold down a job, fend for myself

Yeah, I’d be alive but not much more

If it wasn’t for, if it wasn’t for

All of the women in my life

I’d still be a stupid boy, out on the run

Not half the man that I’ve become

I wouldn’t know how to know you were the one

If it wasn’t for, if it wasn’t for

All of the women in my life

Some are here, some are gone

Some were mine all summer long

Solid as a rock, rolling like a stone

    In and out my door

I can drive a stick, I can drive a nail

Hold down a job, fend for myself

Yeah, I’d be alive but not much more

If it wasn’t for, if it wasn’t for

All of the women in my life

All of the women in my life

  • ERIC CHURCH AND SAM HUNT TO PERFORM AT A MAY 12 GALA TRIBUTE TO WILLIE NELSON AT THE LBJ PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY.

Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Elle King and Lyle Lovett will pay tribute to Willie Nelson as the LBJ Foundation gives Nelson its highest honor, the LBJ Liberty & Justice for All Award, at a gala May 12th, at the LBJ Presidential Library.

These musicians have been inspired by Nelson and share deep admiration for his musical talents and philanthropic efforts.

“It’s a reflection of Willie’s impactful legacy that these extraordinary artists will be paying tribute to him,” says Larry Temple, chairman of the LBJ Foundation Board of Trustees. “We couldn’t be happier with how the evening is shaping up.”

Net proceeds from the gala will benefit the newly established Willie Nelson Endowment for Uplifting Rural Communities at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. Willie has long advocated for sustainable agriculture, worked to eliminate global food insecurity and assisted those affected by natural disasters. Farm Aid, perhaps his best-known cause, has raised more than $70 million in aid and helped increase awareness about the plight of family farms. The Willie Nelson Endowment will fund research and student fellowships focused on sustainable agriculture, eliminating hunger, resilient energy, sustainable water and natural disaster recovery to benefit rural communities.

The endowment has received $100,000 sponsorships from President and Mrs. Johnson’s daughters, Lynda Johnson Robb and Luci Baines Johnson, as well as Texas retailer H-E-B, which is the largest private employer in Texas.

Ticket and sponsorship information is available at www.lbjaward.org.

  • SAM HUNT AND HIS WIFE HANNAH ARE EXPECTING THEIR SECOND CHILD.

Sam Hunt and his wife Hannah are expecting their second child. He reportedly made the announcement during his Friday night (April 21st) show at Resorts World in Las Vegas. The baby will join his parents who were married in 2017, and big sister Lucy, who was born in May of last year.

A couple of months ago, Sam talked about how the little things in his life has changed pretty dramatically since becoming a father. “The way I experience everything on a day-to-day basis has drastically changed,” says Sam. “I live outside of town, and there’s a little pond, a little gravel driveway. We live in a little cabin. There’s a little pond several hundred yards from the cabin. And, you know, when we first moved out there, I’d go down to the pond occasionally, but not really all that often and almost on a daily basis. I’ll take Lou down to the pond and just sit her down the edge on the top of the canoe or just in the grass there, and I experience the pond and the birds and whatever else is going on out there in nature in a way that I was just numb to before having a child. And so that goes for every other little thing, coffee in the morning or picking up a book and reading it as she’s playing on the floor. All those things that I maybe in the past, all of a sudden, I’m experiencing in a whole new way.”

Sam is set to launch his “Summer On The Outskirts Tour” in July.

“Outskirts” Lyrics – written by Sam Hunt, Zach Crowell, Josh Osborne, Jerry Flowers

There’s so much goin’ on in this town
To keep me busy, I’ve been runnin’ around
Up and down all these avenues
Doin’ everything but thinkin’ ’bout you

As long on as I stay on ’em, I’m fine
The city side of those city limit signs
You don’t really cross my mind

But soon as I get out here on the outskirts
I wish I was runnin’ by your house first
Somethin’ ’bout a summer in the south sure
Shines like gold down these old

    Round bail river valley backroads
Way back in the holler where the grass grows
God almighty, baby, we were that close
To ditchin’ this town and settilin’ down
    Out here on the outskirts

If I’da had a lick of damn sense
I’d be on the greener side of that fence
Little starter house we’ve finally outgrown
1,200 feet we’re ’bout to add on

    Smilin’ out there watchin’ them
Big ol’ yellow buckets ’bout to break ground
While you’re shootin’ all my baby names down

But soon as I get out here on the outskirts
I wish I was runnin’ by your house first
Somethin’ ’bout a summer in the south sure
Shines like gold down these old
    Round bail river valley backroads
Way back in the holler where the grass grows
God almighty, baby, we were that close
To ditchin’ this town and settilin’ down
    Out here on the outskirts

I’m over all these Saturday nights
I miss the stars in your eyes

We were gonna give up on the fast life
Have a couple babies, raise ’em up right
Take ’em to the river, get ’em baptized
Back in our day, if I’d just stayed

I wouldn’t be livin’ in this condo
Hangin’ out with Hailey from Toronto
God almighty, baby, we were that close
    Ditchin’ uptown, puttin’ roots down
    Out here on the outskirts

Sam Hunt (Outskirts) OC: …gist of it. :55

“It’s going to sort of be in line with this character who has come to a crossroads in his life between sort of choosing the world and his dreams and maybe a family and future kids and his roots. And as he gets off down the road, out into the world, he’s kind of looking back like, uh, did I do the right thing here? That’s kind of the theme that runs through most of these songs that’ll be coming out here. But it’sthe idea is, uh, that, you know, he’s living in town and fills his schedule and always busy just trying to find his way in the world. And it’s easy to do in town, but as soon as he gets out, out on the outskirts of town, he’s reminded of the choice, the road he didn’t take, and he’s second guessing whether or not he’s on the right path or not. So that’s essentially the gist of it.”

Audio / Sam Hunt talks about hitting the road performing at amphitheaters on his Summer On The Outskirts tour this year.

Sam Hunt (Amphitheater tour) OC: …those amphitheaters. :58
“The other bands, the food, the buses all parked back behind the amphitheater, it’s a whole environment. A lot of them are just in parts of the town that are their own little thing, so it’s so familiar to me now because that’s really all I’ve played. I haven’t really done many arenas at all. So, it just it feels like, it feels like our little home, a little home base headquarters there. And so, it’s very familiar to me at this point. The atmosphere there is being outside. To me, that’s big time in the summer. You know, I love being outside as much as I can, so the grass brings something to the to it. I don’t know, something about the grass on the hill and the environment. And there’s so many great amphitheaters with so many great artists that come through that people also have, is familiar for the folks who come out, too, because they’re going to go see a lot of times another one or two or three concerts at that same venue that summer. So, a lot of the good times that can be had in that community can be centered around those amphitheaters.”

  • SAM HUNT RELEASES NEW SONG, “WALMART.”

Multi-Platinum-selling hitmaker Sam Hunt releases new song “Walmart” today. Hunt and co-writers Zach Crowell, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne maintain an undercurrent in “Walmart” that life has a way of working out, as Hunt transports the listener to a small town run in with an ex’s mother. Hunt is introspective while looking back on open-ended questions of his past, now with the knowledge of life and years gone by.

    Listen to “Walmart” HERE

“Walmart” serves as the latest from the five-time GRAMMY nominee, following his nostalgic “Start Nowhere” and his current Top 20-and-climbing radio hit “Water Under the Bridge.”

“Walmart” Lyrics – written by Sam Hunt, Zach Crowell, Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne

We parted ways in the summer, told me goodbye through your tears

I used to run into you over Christmas, but I hadn’t seen you in years

I used to think that I messed up, wonder if I should’ve stayed

I thought I’d always regret letting you go but all that regret went away

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

She had your eyes and your smile, she had your nose and your lips

Somewhere in our little small-town, small talk girl

Lost in the grocery aisle, holding a bag of some chips

I realize that everything happens for a reason

Losing your love ain’t the end of the world

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

Your little girl, your little girl

She asked me how I was doing, I didn’t know what to say

I kept replaying how you used to say that you wanted a family someday

Someday was just an illusion, when this town was all that we knew

You told me you’d never get over me, honestly, part of me hoped that was true

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

She had your eyes and your smile, she had your nose and your lips

Somewhere in our little small-town, small talk girl

Lost in the grocery aisle, holding a bag of some chips

I realize that everything happens for a reason

Losing your love ain’t the end of the world

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

Your little girl, your little girl

I saw your mama at Walmart with your little girl

She had your eyes and your smile, she had your nose and your lips

Somewhere in our little small-town, small talk girl

Lost in the grocery aisle, holding a bag of some chips

I realize that everything happens for a reason

Losing your love ain’t the end of the world
