  • THE WAR AND TREATY DROP BLANK PAGE EP TODAY AHEAD OF “CAN’T MISS” (BILLBOARD) CMA AWARDS PERFORMANCE.

Trailblazing husband-and-wife duo The War And Treaty drop their surprise BLANK PAGE EP today, ahead of their first-ever CMA Awards performance tonight. The four songs, produced by Dave Cobb, are the catalyst to their forthcoming album under UMG Nashville that showcases a sound that cuts through the whole of Southern music tradition – from blues, soul and R&B, to gospel, country, folk and rock. Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter reach the next creative level as their story continues to play out with the duo’s BLANK PAGE EP that is available at all digital retailers here.

“We could not be more excited to release this new body of work into the atmosphere and give fans a chance to experience the heart of our upcoming album,” Michael said. “The song ‘Blank Page’ came at a pivotal moment for Tanya and I because much like everyone else trying to find their footing after the pandemic, we felt as if we were starting over and that can leave anyone feeling crippling or euphoric. It all depends on how you see it…and it just so happen that this time for us it’s euphoric.”

The precursor to their 2023 LOVER’S GAME album transcends its sonic landscape with new tracks like “Blank Page” that uses a rootsy R&B sway to tribute the kind of love that gives weary hearts a second wind, while “Dumb Luck” offers a pleading prayer for humility with spirit-swelling Gospel grit. Meanwhile their new single “Lover’s Game” “showcases their genre-crossing essence” (NPR) as “That’s How Love Is Made” is “the sound of pure love that shatters and defies every musical category” (Music Row) and “makes for necessary listening,” (Billboard).

“When I think about this process and how eager we were to get into the studio with Dave Cobb and how we clicked and connected with Dave and the musicians, I get overwhelmed with emotions. And to see all the songs come to life this way is extremely excited. ‘Blank Page,’ ‘Lover’s Game,’ ‘That’s How Love Is Made’ and ‘Dumb Luck’ really speaks to our process and really speaks to who we are as people and who we are as lovers, and we can’t wait for you all to tell us what you thought.”
