Reba McEntire (message and thoughts during COVID-19) OC: …I know I sure will. 1:50
“Our Mama, Jacqueline McEntire, passed away March the 14th of this year, and so my two sisters and brother and I have been really busy here in Oklahoma taking care of her estate and Daddy’s estate, he passed away five years ago. So, we’ve been making sure we get everything separated and divided up amongst us. It’s been healing, sad, hmmm, we’ve found so many fun, wonderful things that we’d never seen before — letters from Daddy to Mama, pictures that I don’t know why she hadn’t shown us but we hadn’t seen ’em before. Mama had put ’em in a box in her closet. So, it’s really neat to see those things and oh, memory lane and so emotional, but gosh, we had a blast. It’s been so wonderful to get to stay with my sister in Chockie, Oklahoma with her and her husband Mark, Susie and Mark. We’ve just had the best time. Some people are in cities with millions, and we’re just here in this little bitty town in Chockie. There might not be more than 14 people here. It’s been a great time of rest, relaxation, meditation, getting to know your family better, my family. I’ve totally enjoyed it. My heart goes out to those peoople who did get sick during the Coronavirus. My heart goes out to the ones who have lost loved ones and family members and friends, but like the song says ‘What If,’ I think it’s really joined us together and made us a tightknit bunch. We’ll survive. We’ll go on, and I think we’ll love deeper, appreciate more and come out stronger at the end. I know I sure will.”

“How I’m doing with social distancing? Well, I’ve got my country distancing, and I’ve been working on the land, praying for the sun and no more rain in Tennessee. I mean it’s just so rainy. I haven’t really gotten to see my family or anything, because everybody’s so far apart, but I’m hanging in there. Trying to write some music, watching TV, Netflix and stuff, so it’s been fun, getting back to my inner self, powering up the soul, know what I’m saying?”

  • CHRISSY METZ VALUES STORYTELLING AND AUTHENTICITY OF COUNTRY MUSIC.

Chrissy Metz recently released a brand-new song “Talking To God,” an introspective tune from her upcoming debut album on EMI Records Nashville.

She signed with the label after releasing “I’m Standing With You,” the Diane Warren-penned Oscar-nominated song from the Breakthrough soundtrack and debuted it on last year’s ACM Awards, as well as this year’s Academy Awards.

The Florida native has always been drawn to Country Music. “Country Music for me has always been about the values of what the storytelling really is about, and it always really spoke to my soul and my spirit and my heart,” says Chrissy. “You can cry to it, you can dance to it, you can have the best road trips to it. I just love me some Country Music. The artists that I really admire are beautiful storytellers that really speak from the heart and they just sing and tell stories about real life in their most authentic self.”

Metz, who has also showcased her vocal abilities as “Kate Pearson” on NBC’s award-winning series This Is Us, calls music her “first love” and is currently hosting a daily Facebook livestream, The Dreamers where she shares her musical journey.

  • CHRISSY METZ RELEASES NEW SONG “TALKING TO GOD.”

Award-winning actress Chrissy Metz releases brand-new song “Talking To God” today. Written by Nicolette Hayford, Connie Harrington, Jake Mitchell, Ashley McBryde and Aaron Raitiere, the introspective song is the first from Metz’s upcoming debut album on EMI Records Nashville.

Listen to “Talking To God” HERE and a behind-the scenes look at the album photo shoot HERE.

“‘Talking To God’ is a song about those moments when we ask the questions we desperately want the answers to,” shares Metz. “Whether it’s a lost love or why our own lives look much different than the way we had hoped they would. It’s about those personal prayers and conversations we have while listening and learning to surrender and trust in the bigger picture.”

Metz signed a record deal with Universal Music Group Nashville following her starring role in 20th Century Fox’s Breakthrough movie and soundtrack featuring her performance of the Oscar-nominated, Diane Warren penned track, “I’m Standing With You.” Metz, who has also showcased her vocal abilities as “Kate Pearson” on NBC’s award-winning series This Is Us, calls music her “first love” and is currently hosting a daily Facebook livestream, The Dreamers where she shares her musical journey.

Chrissy Metz (Talking to God) OC: …so, yeah. 1:05 (note music bed)
“’Talking to God’ is a really special song for me. I know that all music is interpreted by everyone’s own perception., but for me when I heard the song It resonated in a way – when the line says, ‘I was talking to God and your name came up, for me that was thinking about and praying for people that might not be in your life anymore, but they impacted your life or they have a special place in your heart; and they may not be good for you any longer, but you still care about them and you still wish them well, whether it’s a previous relationship, friendship. Gosh, when I heard it, I was immediately just taken aback and also, I felt so compelled to tell this story, because even though I had no part in writing it, I just knew that I had to tell the story because I’ve lived it and I think we all have. Unfortunately, we have regrets or decisions we would’ve made differently, so, yeah.”
