  • JON PARDI SAYS THE ATMOSPHERE ON DIERKS BENTLEY’S ‘WHAT THE HELL TOUR’ FEELS LIKE FAMILY.

Jon Pardi loves being on the road with Dierks Bentley on the What the Hell Tour, which also features pal Cole Swindell, because the vibe on the road is like family. Speaking of family, the tall troubadour has also made quite an impression on Dierks’ daughters, Evie and Jordan.

“I love Dierks Bentley, being on tour with Dierks Bentley. He’s awesome. His girls are always excited to see me. His little girls are always like, ‘Hey, Jooooonnnn!’ They’re always excited to see me, which is super cute. They tried roping again. I brought the dummy out there for them, and it was a lot of fun,” says Jon. “Dierks does a great job of keeping everybody like they’re family, even from his crew, his truck drivers to the catering people to the opening acts, so he does a really good job, and I’ve always admired that about him. And having Cole Swindell out there with us, it’s just a bunch of friends on the road living the dream.”

  • DARIUS RUCKER RELEASES HIS NEW SINGLE, ‘FOR THE FIRST TIME.’

Darius Rucker has had a lot of firsts over his illustrious career, but he has consistently reinvented himself and his music in numerous ways. So, when he came upon the phrase, “when was the last time I did something for the first time?,’ he was inspired to write his new single with co-writers Derek George and Travis Hill.

“As a songwriter, sometimes the smallest idea can elicit a feeling and then you have this daunting task of trying to relay that emotion and energy into a three-minute song,” says Darius. “When we wrote ‘For The First Time,’ we each had to dig deep for that moment – for me it was ‘you say you’ve never danced to a dashboard singin’ REM under summer stars.’ After that it was all over.”

“For The First Time” is the follow-up to his most recent No. 1 single, “If I Told You,” the first from his his long-awaited as-yet-untitled fifth Capitol Records Nashville album, slated for release later this year with Producer Ross Copperman at the helm. It will be yet another signature moment in the multiplatinum career of one of music’s most beloved figures. Rucker has never been busier while working on his new album with a slate of television appearances this spring and summer including a CMT Crossroads episode with John Mellencamp, an appearance in Adam Sandler’s Netflix original, Sandy Wexler, and his own episode of Celebrity Undercover Boss on CBS.
