• THE BAND PERRY RELEASE THEIR NEW SINGLE, ‘COMEBACK KID.’

The Band Perry released their new single, “Comeback Kid,” the first from their new label, Mercury Records Nashville, on Monday. The band kicked off their “Comeback Day” beginning at midnight with the start of their 24-hour live stream, as well as many other events to honor the day. The trio did interviews, as well as a press conference and performance to talk about their new single and to present a check for $25,000 to the Teen Cancer America organization from their recent Family Feud win.

The song, which the three co-wrote together, tells the band’s story from the past year, documenting turmoil, disappointment, struggles and finally joy. “‘Comeback Kid’ is probably the most intensely personal lyric that we’ve ever written,” says The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry. “We love language we love visuals and poetry hence all of the imagination that went into writing ‘If I Die Young’ but it was really important to us on ‘Comeback Kid’ that we told the real life narrative of everything that we’ve been thinking and feeling over the past year. I mean it’s no secret to anybody that we’ve gone through an amazing transformation of one that ended in such a bright and beautiful place but it had its moment along the way of real and true struggle.”

The Band Perry will perform “Comeback Kid” on August 11th on NBC’s Today Show, live from the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

  • DIERKS BENTLEY UNVEILS THE TEAM BEHIND BLACK AND HIS 2016 TOUR.

    3b01ba9d58745aacc6939b69_880x860
While multi-PLATINUM selling singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley may be at the center of his No. One album BLACK (Capitol Records Nashville) and his biggest tour to date, he has long been known for embracing the community that surrounds him. With Behind BLACK: The Anatomy of the Album & Tour, Bentley introduces the group who had a behind-the-scenes hand in bringing it all to life; his family, management team, producers, collaborators, musicians, songwriters, record label executives, touring crew and industry supporters. For first-hand accounts, untold stories and to learn more about the people behind “the  bluegrass  picker, the  love  song  singer  and  the stadium rocker all packaged together”(Associated Press), visit Billboard here.

“At some point during the middle of our album release and tour rehearsals, I made the comment that I really wish we had been capturing all the people involved in making all the pieces come together because I don’t think the fans truly understand who all is behind their favorite song on the record or what it took to build the airplane that crashes on to the stage during our live show,” said Bentley. “So this web project was a way for me to give a little credit to all the people who work so hard to help me make my dreams come true, and it’s also a way to document a really special time in my career.  I’m so grateful to the village of people it took!”

Behind BLACK: The Anatomy of the Album & Tour explores a community’s first-hand contribution to BLACK including collaborators and friends such as Maren Morris along with tourmates Cam and Randy Houser. 2x Grammy nominated Elle King is also featured as she shares vocals on BLACK’s thought-provoking Top 20 single “Different For Girls.”

With a “reputation as one of the hardest-working entertainers in country music” (Music Row), BLACK debuted at the No. one position on Billboard’s Top Albums Chart and Top Country Albums chart. On the heels of 13 GRAMMY nominations and 14 No. one hits, Bentley recently extended his 2016 SOMEWHERE ON A BEACH TOUR through Oct. • ERIC CHURCH SCORES A ‘RECORD’ CHART-TOPPER.

Eric Church has climbed to the top of the Mediabase country chart with his seventh career No. 1 single, “Record Year.” (NOTE: In addition to his five solo chart-toppers, he also hit the top of the country charts with “Raise ‘Em Up” with Keith Urban and “The Only Way I Know” with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.

“Record Year” was co-written by Church and his guitarist/banjo player, Jeff Hyde (who also penned “Cold One” (with Luke Hutton), “Springsteen” (with Ryan Tyndell), and “Smoke A Little Smoke” (with Driver Williams) all alongside the man the Los Angeles Times called “Nashville’s foremost rabble-rouser”), and outlines a story of a heartbroken music-lover finding consolation in the records of some of music’s greatest masterminds.

The North Carolina native sings about playing several of his vinyl records to help him get over a heartache, and namechecks several iconic artists and pieces of music. “There’s a line in the song, and it talks about ‘slowly planning my survival/in a three-foot stack of vinyl,’ and I’ve done that where you take your records out and go, ‘Okay by the time I get to the bottom of this stack, I’m gonna be better or worse and [laughs] this is where I’m heading,’” says Eric. “It’s a great thing about music is it can become a point of therapy and healing.”

Eric is getting ready to play two sold-out shows at Red Rocks in Denver, and he’s got a pair of killer opening acts – Maren Morris on August 9th and Cam on August 10th.

Audio / Eric Church says music, especially a “stack of vinyl” as in his No. 1 single, “Record Year,” can be therapeutic.

These are songs that find the redemption in struggle, the peace in death, the joy in bonding with family members whenever times are tough. The stories behind the songs are personal, it’s music with a message and Hillary has rarely sounded more at home.

LOVE REMAINS follows more than 18 million album sales worldwide for Hillary Scott as one-third of the one of the world’s most popular groups, Lady Antebellum. Hillary Scott (Love Remains songs) OC: …songs give me. :54
“All of these songs are about things that I can really put a direct story or a life experience, a situation into. These songs are how I get through every part of my life; the good times, the bad times, the fun times [LAUGHS], the hardest of times, ya know. These are the songs that are talking about the source of where my peace comes from, what lets me try to stay as even keeled, and in this world, not only in the career that I’ve been so blessed to be a part of, but with everything going on in the world. I think everyone is searching for what’s gonna settle them and ground them and make them feel like they can take another step or take another breath, whether its chasing a dream or whether its fighting the biggest battle for your life that you ever could’ve. I mean, there’s a search and a yearning for that, and that’s what these songs give me.”

  • KIP MOORE OPENS NEW SKATEPARK IN CINCINNATI, OHIO.

Kip Moore opened a new skatepark in Cincinnati, Ohio yesterday as part of his “Comeback Kid Skatepark Project.”  The Warsaw Federal Skatepark, a project of the Lower Price Hill Neighborhood Enhancement Program, features a 35-foot-by-68-foot pump track, three grind rails and a Hubba skate ledge. Kids in attendance were surprised with free skateboards, helmets, knee pads, and backpacks filled with T-shirts and socks.
“I’m always searching for purpose in my life,” said Kip Moore.  “I battle the feeling of if I’m doing enough with the small amount of time I have on this earth each day.  I’m so blessed to get to do what I do, but I have always believed with those blessings come responsibility. Days like today give me that feeling of purpose. I get to see a direct impact in a needed community. I get to see the smiles on these kid’s faces and the positive impact it creates.  There are so many things I wanna do in the inner cities and this is just the beginning.”

The “Comeback Kid Skatepark Project” is the first initiative of “Kip’s Kids Fund,” a donor-advised fund through The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT) focused on youth and teens.  Other skatepark locations include Nashville, TN; Boston, MA; San Marcos, TX; Annapolis, MD.  For more information and to make a donation visit here.
A constant road warrior, Moore is currently gearing up to headline Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater next month, as part of “The Big 98’s Annual Guitar-B-Que Benefitting St. Jude” and recently revealed dates for his headlining ME AND MY KIND TOUR, which will see Moore visit cities across the US and Canada through early December and includes red-hot newcomer Jon Pardi. As Moore continues to be “met with more deafening applause” (CMT) he is currently on the road for Miranda Lambert’s Keeper Of The Flame Tour.  Hailed as a “career song” by Billboard, Moore’s current single “Running For You” continues to climb the charts and is taken from Moore’s critically acclaimed sophomore album WILD ONES, that Taste of Country deems is “tailored for his live show and the thousands of die-hard fans that pack theaters several times each week to see him,” and Huffington Post declares as “one heck of an album… set to produce hit after hit after hit.” WILD ONES follows Moore’s debut album UP ALL NIGHT which was certified GOLD by the RIAA and spawned three No. One hit singles including GOLD certified “Beer Money,” PLATINUM certified “Hey Pretty Girl,” and the DOUBLE PLATINUM breakout hit “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck.”

Kip Moore (skating and surfing brings balance) OC: …for people. :45
“For me there’s something spiritual that happens with skating, surfing. The main thing for me is there’s such a community with the two sports. Whereas the other sports feel so individualized, and even though these are still individualized sports, there’s more of a community and brotherhood to these things. That was why I wanted to do it, to bring camaraderie to the community and the kids. It brings a sense of peace to me in that kind of way and ways I cannot explain. When I’m out in the water at 6 o’clock in the morning and the sun’s coming up, those are the times when I feel closest to God and where I need to be, and it brings it all back to center for me. I need those times when I’m out roaddogging it like crazy, and I think skating does the same thing for people.”
