• BROTHERS OSBORNE OKAY WITH NOT BEING FOR EVERYONE.

You’ve seen the inspirational quotes on “Not everyone will like you, no matter how hard you try…” “stay true to yourself…” and so on. Brothers Osborne‘s latest song, “I’m Not For Everyone,” could also be an inspirational quote for those who feel they aren’t like everyone else.  John and TJ Osborne say the song, which is making its way up the country charts, shows it’s okay being a little different and not for everyone, which just about everyone can relate to at some point in their lives.

“That IS our mission statement, ‘cause we ARE not for everyone,” says John Osborne. “I think at some point, not only in your career, but your life as a human being, you can’t make everyone happy. We have spoken up so many times, and we have, I wouldn’t say we’ve paid much of a price, but we’ve pissed a lot of people off by being ourselves. (TJ LAUGHS) We just have to accept that no matter we are not for everybody and you have to be okay with that. And this is the first song where I actually, I sing a verse on, which is perfect because this song in particular is the both of us saying we’re not everybody’s cup of tea and that’s okay.”

The duo is taking their We’re Not For Everyone Tour, featuring Travis Denning and Tenille Townes, to Ashville, North Carolina on Thursday (September 30th), Atlanta, Georgia on Friday (October 1st) and Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday (October 2nd).

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE EARN THREE NOMINATIONS FROM THE COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION FOR ALBUM OF THE YEAR, VOCAL DUO OF THE YEAR, AND MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR.

Today, Brothers Osborne earned three nominations from the Country Music Association: Album of The Year for their acclaimed album Skeletons, Vocal Duo of the Year, and Music Video of The Year for “Younger Me.” Said the duo about their nominations: “Beyond honored. And a nom for Album of the Year. A big one. We put every ounce of ourselves into our current album, Skeletons. The recording process was interrupted by psychological and physical struggles, a tornado, and a pandemic. Considered quitting in the middle of making this album due to exhaustion and mental health struggles. Genuinely felt like the last album we were ever going to make so we decided to put it all on the table, leaving nothing in the coffers. This industry is so rewarding yet incredibly difficult all at the same time. To any new artists out there… Stick with it. Stay patient and in the moment. Success comes to those who earn it, but happiness comes to those who enjoy it. If it’s hard now, it won’t be forever. See y’all at the CMAs.” The 55th Annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville Wednesday, November 10 on ABC.

The band recently shared the music video for their latest single “I’m Not For Everyone,” from their third studio album Skeletons. The video, directed by Wes Edwards and Ryan “Flash” Silver, features Leslie Jordan waltzing unscathed through a raucous bar fight. Watch the music video for “I’m Not For Everyone” here. Members of The Family, Brothers Osborne’s official fan club, had an exclusive look at the video yesterday, and fans can sign up to the club here.

Recently, John and TJ announced plans for their headlining WE’RE NOT FOR EVERYONE TOUR launching this summer. The GRAMMY-nominated duo will hit almost 50 markets including New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta and more. Tickets are on sale now here brothersosborne.com.

The band was featured on the cover of Billboard’s Country Power Players issue. Read the full feature here.

Recently the band appeared on CBS Sunday Morning (watch HERE) where they spoke to correspondent Anthony Mason regarding their upbringing in the blue-collar town of Deale, Maryland and journey to Nashville to pursue their musical ambitions. • BROTHERS OSBORNE AREN’T FOR “EVERYONE.”

Brothers Osborne says it’s absolutely okay not to be liked by everybody, like it says in their latest song, “I’m Not For Everyone.”

“’I’m Not For Everyone’ is one of our favorite songs on the record (Skeletons), because it really speaks a lot about our philosophy on life and it really speaks to us just being ourselves,” says John Osborne, one half of the brotherly duo. “At some point, you just have to realize that you can’t make everybody happy all the time. The second you realize that it really takes the pressure off of you and just allows you to be yourself. It starts off saying, ‘Some people clap on the 1 and 3 and some people clap on the 2 and 4 and some people don’t join at all because they don’t have any rhythm and that’s alright.’ We can all get along. We can all just coexist in the same place even though we might not get along outside of that place, and it’s okay to not be for everyone. My brother and I certainly are because we speak our mind and catch a lot of s%@ (beep)t for it.” (laughs)

The two are crisscrossing the country with their We’re Not For Everyone Tour, and they’re taking along Travis Denning and Tenille Arts. The next slew of dates for the trek include Wednesday (August 4th) in Toledo, Ohio and Thursday (August 5th) in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

Audio / Brothers Osborne’s John Osborne talks about their latest song, “I’m Not For Everyone,” which appears on their current record, Skeletons. NOTE: A beep was inserted near the end of the soundbite.
