Audio / Luke Bryan co-wrote the heartfelt “Fast,” a song from his album, Kill the Lights.

Luke Bryan (Fast) OC: …in a song. :58
Fastis a song that I got the opportunity to get in the room with Rodney Clawson and Luke Laird and we started it. Luke and Rodney, I mean obviously, their pedigree is quite extensive and amazing. And I’m just so proud about how we used a simple word like Fast and we tied the verses in and then that second verse how we brought in the parents were saying ‘we were falling in love too fast but we still made it work.’ And how life does move too fast. Every time I come home my boys are bigger and starting to throw me around the house a little more, and one day I’ll snap my fingers and you wish you could have froze time a little bit. And I think anytime you can help people slow down and reflect on that and remember to take things in stride a little bit better, I think people love hearing that in a song.”

Audio / Jon Pardi talks about “Dirt on My Boots.”

Jon Pardi (Dirt on My Boots) OC: …that track. :31
“I saw my 22 year old self getting off a tractor and going to take a shower and putting his work boots back on and going and hanging out with a girl and having a good time dancing or something. And I really connected to the lyrics of it. It’s very country lyrics. It has tractors. It has cutting a rug. My favorite [line] — ‘I can get cleaned up, but I can only get so fancy,’ and I loved it. It was a great written country lyric, and I really think we made it more of a traditional feel with a modern flare to it, and I was really proud of that track.”

Audio / Eric Church says “Like a Wrecking Ball” is absolutely about what it says in the song.

Eric Church (Like a Wrecking Ball) OC: …their life. :49
“I hate innuendo. I don’t like where people get cute. I’m 36 years old. I’m not 12. I don’t need people to disguise what we’re talking about. I think we can get so cute with stuff like that. Al Green didn’t get cute. Conway Twitty didn’t get cute. They said it. We’re adults, and this is an adult record. We’ve always made adult music. I like songs like that, and that’s what this song is. This song is about sex. It’s about not being home to see your wife or girl for a long time, and thinking about that, preparing for that and executing that [laughs] is what this song’s about. It has nothing to do with anything else. I mean…that’s what it is, and the honesty of that, I hope people find refreshing, because I’ve not found anybody that hasn’t felt that at some point in time during their life.”

  • SAM HUNT SPENDS A THIRD WEEK AT NO. 1 WITH ‘BODY LIKE A BACK ROAD.’

Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” spends a third week atop the Billboard Country Airplay chart and a second week at No. 1 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart.

He performed the song, which he co-wrote with producer Zach Crowell, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, on this year’s ACM Awards and surprised his love Hannah Lee Fowler by sitting down next to her in the audience. “Involving her with that performance was fun. She was a little uncomfortable about being there and a little overwhelmed, and she may not agree, but I thought that would warm her up a little bit to the whole experience and she may not admit it, but I think it did,” says Sam.

At the beginning of the performance, he was sitting on a little bench, and when he got up, the wires from his audio pack got caught in the cushions, so he lost the audio to his monitors to hear what he was singing. It didn’t really matter, though. “When I stood up off the little bench seat I was sitting on, I lost my (audio) pack and then I thought, ‘Shoot, I can’t hear anything,’” recalls Sam. “I get concerned about little details a lot of times and things going wrong or not going wrong and having her there just made it all go away. So, that’s another reason I wanted to go down and sit with her and made sure she knew that she’s really what matters, you know.”

Sam returns to the road May 9th to perform at The Players Championship in Ponte Verde Beach, Florida and at The Preakness in Baltimore, Maryland on May 28th before his 15 in a 30 Tour kicks off June 1st in Cleveland, Ohio.

Audio / Sam Hunt talks about his ACM Performance of “Body Like a Back Road.”

Sam Hunt (ACM Performance) 1 OC: …think it did. [laughs] :35
“We have a relationship where I, the character from that song, I’m not really that character with many folks, but with her I am. So, when I am playing that character, I feel like it’s kind of a her and I thing, she and I thing, so involving her with that performance was fun. She was a little uncomfortable about being there and a little overwhelmed, and she may not agree, but I thought that would warm her up a little bit to the whole experience and she may not admit it, but I think it did.” [laughs]

Audio / Sam Hunt had a small mishap during his ACM performance of his No. 1 hit, “Body Like a Back Road,” but said the presence of his love, Hannah Lee Fowler, made all his anxiety go away.

“Having her in my life is so meaningful, and when I stood up off the little bench seat I was sitting on, I lost my

So, that’s another reason I wanted to go down and sit with her and made sure she knew that she’s really what matters, you know. All this other stuff is fun and I enjoy it and we’ll have a good time playing some music and folks will have a good time coming to see us, but she’s what, yeah, is motivating me.”

  • SAM HUNT SCORES A HUGE HIT WITH ‘BODY LIKE A BACK ROAD.’

Sam Hunt’s smash hit “Body Like a Back Road” scores a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Chart and climbs to the top spot on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart this week.

“I can’t say that I expected for it to do as well as it has done. If you listen to the first record, you can see how I fit into that song, but also it’s different. It’s not like anything from the first record, so it was cool to go out on a limb a little bit, but to have the fans of the first record get on board. So, that was cool,” says Sam. “The success that it’s had has just been awesome. It’s not that polarizing of a song, so fortunately I think it’s palatable to a lot of tastes and people have enjoyed it, hopefully. So, it’s been awesome to have a song after the first record. Your second record is always the thing that everybody’s saying, ‘Well, let’s see if he can do it again’ or whatever. They call it the ‘Sophomore Slump,’ I think. I’m just so glad that [laughs] this song has reacted right off the bat and I don’t feel like I’m behind the eight ball.”

“Body Like a Back Road” is going strong, selling over 805,000 digital downloads with more than 117 million streams since its release just 13 weeks ago.

Sam returns to the road May 9th to perform at The Players Championship in Ponte Verde Beach, Florida and at The Preakness in Baltimore, Maryland on May 28th before his 15 in a 30 Tour kicks off June 1st in Cleveland, Ohio.

  • SAM HUNT’S ‘BODY LIKE A BACK ROAD’ TOPS THE BILLBOARD COUNTRY CHART.

Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” is a monster hit! The song climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart in just 12 weeks and is continuing to engage folks who streamed it nearly 12-million times last week. If you’re wondering how he came up with the song, he says the phrase “Body Like a Back Road” came first. The Georgia native wrote the song with his producer Zach Crowell and his songwriter friends Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne and the song seemed to just fall out.

“I try to think of titles or lines that’ll cross my mind and I’ll put ‘em in my phone, and this was one that I wanted to write for a while – the title ‘Body Like a Back Road’ – or use it as a lyric, do something with it. I didn’t have a melody, but one night this melody got stuck in my head and the phrase ‘Body Like a Back Road’ sang perfectly to it and the chorus came out pretty quick. And then we went in and started working on the song with the producer and a couple of writing buddies, and I wanted to write it because I thought it was a fun song

“Body Like a Back Road” is the first release from his as-yet-to-be-titled forthcoming album.

In the song, he sings about going “15 in a 30,” which is what he named his upcoming tour. The trek, featuring Maren Morris, Chris Janson and Ryan Follese, will kick off June 1st in Cleveland, Ohio.

Audio / Sam Hunt says his smash hit, “Body Like a Back Road,” all began with a phrase before anything else.

I didn’t want it to come across as objectifying women or be too, to lack depth and just, I don’t know. So, anyway, I had some concerns, but I tried to make it fun to offset any risks of those things happening, which made writing it fun, and I think that came across in the lyric and in the way we recorded it and everything else. When we finally finished it, it finally hit me as ‘Ok. Wait a minute. Maybe I underestimated the potential of this song. I think this could be a fun song and it will connect with folks.’ So, at that point, I was excited to put it out and fortunately folks have enjoyed it.”

  • SAM HUNT’S ‘BODY LIKE A BACK ROAD’ MAKES HISTORY.

Sam Hunt‘s new smash, “Body Like A Back Road,” has shot to No. 1 on the digital sales and streaming chart and is already climbing country radio’s Top 15 in only four weeks. “Body Like A Back Road,” written by Sam, Zach Crowell, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, has led the Billboard Hot Country chart for four weeks in a row and it continues to break its own record notching over 9.2 million streams per week across all platforms – the most of any other country song ever.

Sam writes a lot with Zach, Shane and Josh, and they’ve all developed a huge comfort level with each other, allowing them to be as artistic as they can be without any judgment.

“Creative freedom is something that is hard to find, especially when you’re working with other people, because it takes a while to get to know somebody well enough to really feel like you have creative freedom in the full sense of the phrase. You know, you can just say anything, good, bad or in-between, and they’re not gonna judge you for it,” says Sam. “That’s something that I appreciate about the people who I work with is that we’re on the same page with things, and we just kinda put it out there…thankfully, I have a creative team that helps bring the best out of me, I feel like, and that’s an important part of the equation”

Sam’s upcoming 15 In A 30 Tour, with special guests Maren Morris, Chris Janson and Ryan Follese, is one of summer’s most-anticipated tours, and Live Nation just announced an added show at “the world’s most famous arena,” Madison Square Garden in New York City on September 14th. Tickets go on sale Friday (March 10th) at 10am ET. The tour hits over 30 markets including Toronto, Chicago and Atlanta with multiple nights in Los Angeles, Denver and Nashville.
