“I truly love this week for, I mean, hundreds of reasons. I always remember my first ones starting out and doing River Stages and always dreaming of coming over here and performing at LP Field. I did my fan club party, and I truly love that opportunity to do that show for them really, really kind of acoustic and a chance to kind of sit there and be real with them for a little bit, and then obviously through the day and being here tonight. • LITTLE BIG TOWN ENJOY SPECIAL MOMENTS AS HOSTS AND PERFORMERS AT THIS YEAR’S ‘COUNTRY’S NIGHT TO ROCK’ ABC-TV SPECIAL.

Little Big Town return as hosts for “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” on Tuesday (August 4th) at 8:00pm ET.

The group not only are hosting this three-hour special event, but they’re also performing on the show, as well. “One of the moments, I think, that stood out to me was, the biggest, I mean when we actually got to play and perform the music, as opposed to all of the hosting duties. We started our set with ‘Girl Crush,’ and that moment just swept me away. The whole crowd was lit up – their phones were lit up – and they were singing louder than we were,” says LBT’s Phillip Sweet. “It just was the most incredible feeling to feel that energy and all focused on ‘Girl Crush’ and the starkness of that song. It was just like the most incredible moment for me.”

For folks who want to come next year, LBT’s Kimberly Schlapman gives you a few safety tips. “It happens to the hottest week of the summer, every CMA Fest. Really. It’s so very hot, so you’ve got to wear a lot of sunscreen because there’s a lot of burnt backs that happen at CMA Fest,” says Kimberly. “Stay hydrated. Stay hydrated. It is so hot out there. It’s hot on the stage. It’s hot in the crowd, but you should come. If you’re even considering coming, come. You will not be disappointed.”

Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Kip Moore, Sam Hunt, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line, Brett Eldredge and Carrie Underwood will also be among the performers. The CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock will air Tuesday, August 4th beginning at 8pm ET on ABC.

KIMBERLY: “To me, it doesn’t get any better than singing for that crowd at the stadium. So many of ‘em do it for their family vacation, so they save up their money all year long and generations of these families come to make it their family vacation, and they’re there to hear just good ole great country music. And we got to host this year, which is just so much fun in itself, and so many different funny things happened, and all that, but…” PHILLIP: “One of the moments, I think, that stood out to me was, the biggest, I mean when we actually got to play and perform the music, as opposed to all of the hosting duties. We started our set with ‘Girl Crush,’ and that moment just swept me away. The whole crowd was lit up – their phones were lit up – and they were singing louder than we were. KIMBERLY: “It happens to the hottest week of the summer, every CMA Fest. Really. It’s so very hot, so you’ve got to wear a lot of sunscreen because there’s a lot of burnt backs that happen at CMA Fest.” PHILLIP: “Get those fan misters. Those are so good.” KIMBERLY: “Those are so cool. Just be smart. Stay hydrated. Stay hydrated. It is so hot out there. It’s hot on the stage. It’s hot in the crowd, but you should come. If you’re even considering coming, come. You will not be disappointed.” PHILLIP: “Yeah, it’s hot, but it’s like so much fun, that you don’t think about it as much, because there’s so much to do and so many concerts going on, and it’s like the town just triples in size and it’s just incredible energy all over the place. Nashville comes alive.”

  • LUKE BRYAN WANTS HIS FANS TO ‘KICK THE DUST UP.’

Luke Bryan is one week away from releasing his new album, Kill the Lights. The collection features his latest hit, “Kick the Dust Up,” which is poised to enter the top of the country charts.

The son of a peanut farmer, Luke says the song really defines who he is. “‘Kick the Dust Up’ is just a song that really defines who I am,” he says. “It talks about a farm in town. It talks about we don’t stand in those lines buying $10 drinks. Why do that when we can go buy a six pack and go out to a cornfield and kick some dust up? And that’s what I want my fans doing.”

Luke is set to perform a couple of tracks from the new album during ABC’s Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series on August 7th, the day his album is released. He’ll also take over New York City’s Irving Plaza for a record release party that evening.

Audio / Luke Bryan's "Kick the Dust Up" is based on how he grew up in Georgia.

Luke Bryan (lead single Kick the Dust Up) OC: …album off. 1:14
“‘Kick the Dust Up’ is just a song that really defines who I am. It talks about a farm in town. It talks about we don’t stand in those lines buying $10 drinks Why do that when we can go buy a six pack and go out to a cornfield and kick some dust up. And that’s what I want my fans doing and when I think about just how tough ‘Kick the Dust Up’ is. I mean it’s a tough song in my opinion. And I’ll tell you what, in the way the instrumentation on it is something different, something that you may or may not have ever, something that I don’t think I’ve ever heard on country song or something on country radio. It’s almost got a Middle Eastern lick in there which is something that is pretty hooky. And ‘Kick The Dust Up’ is as much as it is a lyrical song about being in the country, it has a whole other side of these musical hooks that make it fun and make it drive and feels like big stadium, big anthemic country songs. It feels like just a big anthem to me, and we felt like it was the way to name the tour and we felt like it was the way to kick this album off.”

  • KEITH URBAN DEBUTS A DOCUMENTARY SHORT OF ‘THE MAKING OF JOHN COUGAR, JOHN DEERE, JOHN 3:16.’

Four-time Grammy Award winner Keith Urban debuts his documentary short “The Making Of John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” today at http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/30/keith-urban-documentary-john-cougar-deere.  The 7-minute piece is a revealing, inside look into the recording of Urban’s latest and fastest selling single in nearly a decade, and is also available for posting via https://www.youtube.com/embed/xKdx27gMDTY.

A four-minute version is also available at https://www.youtube.com/embed/F4rC20qxTJU.

Narrated by Urban, the documentary delves into the creative journey through which John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16 was conceived.  It chronicles the recording of the song, warts and all, from Urban’s initial frustrations of ‘where to even start (the song)’ to the unfamiliar revelation that the song’s foundation would be built around the bass guitar, rather than Urban’s usual six-string. Light-hearted moments also reveal what Urban forgets to do when singing and why his “crowd of four” unknown backing singers stare at their phones while singing.

“We couldn’t recall a song-specific documentary short that really gave a feeling for how a song comes together,” said Urban.  “We’re usually filming anyway and the evolution of “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” really did happen in the studio, so we thought why not share some of the fun (and creative angst) that we usually have in the studio with our fans!”

Urban is currently on tour performing at fairs and festivals throughout the U.S. and Canada and will begin filming for American Idol in August.  The official music video for John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16, the first from Urban’s next studio album, is due to be released next month.

Previous episodes of “I Love Movies,” have featured NBA All-Star Dwight Howard, Grammy Award winner Reba McEntire, skateboarding icon and X Games gold medalist Tony Hawk, five-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, rock legend Slash and Country Music artist Darius Rucker, talking about iconic movies like “Rocky,” “The Sound of Music,” “Finding Nemo,” “The Spy Who Loved Me,” “The Naked Gun,” “Purple Rain,” and “The Exorcist,” so that fans can learn about these movies and their impact.
